I think honestly (and you know I will butch and moan about this stuff) is there are two things happening.

The racing is closer than it has ever been and a lot of clumsiness (with a a bit of saltiness as well) and the standard full on contact.

There is a lot of new racers who can get to fairly decent DR without some of the etiquette you’d typically expect.

You also have a lot of us who take real life and apply the same standards to our gaming so things get a bit sensitive etc not one of us is immune to this.

There is some/a lot of work to be done in the penalty system, but honestly I’ve laid out a different pathway a few times.

The AI and licences don’t create a learning approach to the game.

The game needs to better penalise much more more contact with the AI, it needs to really focus more on player driving standards rather winning through what ever means.

There needs to be a very clear multiplayer progression pathway in terms of quality of racing rather than restricting cars or car classes.

I almost feel like an early game achievement should be focused on getting an “on line racing licence” which then allows SR to penalise something which a player “owns” rather than an arbitrary metric.

There could be some very pervasive metrics or pre warnings around “players who drop to C sr lose X dr and quit 5x more races that players who finish 7th” etc

The point being they don’t do anything to help a player race other players competitively and in a fun space.

But the reality is always going to be that there are people who are utter dicks.

The only thing realistically we can do is play or don’t play and deal with all the crap.
I agree, the pre established AI races that are a 3 lap shot-out and have you starting from 12th place and require you to finish in the top 3 will only teach bad racing habits. It’s such an unrealistic scenario.
