Wow @Barney Da Dog - another week, another incredible time! Nice :) My current claim to fame is to have the #2 fastest time with the Huracan around Interlagos :D

Still 0.3s slower than you, though!

Great time! I still can't get a pole position with mine - did get my first win in a long time though. I may try the Ferrari later , seen a few in the races this morning.

On a separate note, I witnessed an A+/S driver going down to A/B in 3 races. I was quite pleased actually as he's always been a dirty push-to-pass type, and his usual tactics seemed to annoy a lot of people this morning🤣

Edit/ spellings

Not much time to race this week as I am away on a work conference from Tuesday, so will focus on golding the NSX TT tonight. Not crazy about the races this week TBH anyway, rallying in this game feels all kinds of wrong, Daytona road course is a horrible track and for some reason I cannot seem to find my old pace around Interlagos but I am curious to see if it is an AWD fest or if the Ferrari for eg can compete.

The right hander before the banking is the most hateful corner in this game, i simply CANNOT get on the power anywhere near the Ai or my fellow A or high B drivers, i lose several tenths, it is just a nightmare.

You have to be really gradual on it. In VR you can see there is a little bump so either going more slowly on throttle or waiting a fraction longer to accelerate harder is what I do, I don’t think it’s as noticeable in the other cams, remember that being in a higher gear helps at Daytona pretty much every corner especially as the viper “feels/is” are really low revving torque monster vs some of the screaming turbo cars

After last week from A back into B not high hope for this but not a bad start 5 races done and not the carnage expected

The Nissan is faster but just love the WRX got my QT in the .39 think iam just gonna have fun and stay with the Subaru

@Famine Is that a custom livery or did the GR.B Peugeot get an alternate livery like its GR.3 sibling?
Just watching Rory's live stream there during my lunch. Race C looks like a Viper fest and from what I just saw you really need to change tyres...as poor Rory just found out 🤣🙈. Well, maybe mere mortals like me anyway
Vipers and Tire wear, not a particularly ideal couple in my experience

Have to say never really a fan of that GrB race because you always get crashed out. Race B I've tried and not a fan of the hard tyres, plus the GTR is fastest in a straight line but terrible to handle elsewhere. The Alfa is the opposite, but you have to contend with the GTR drivers being sods.

Race C is where I'm at this week. Love driving that Viper on my favourite tyres. Just a shame the Porsche I was racing was also a sod. Driving standards not great today.

Edit: plus I did deck myself on the tyres at turn 1. Ouch.

After a few races of being the bridesmaid and not the bride I won one.

The one thing I will say about Interlagos is that clumsy escalates to carnage and over sensitivity here. I think it’s the technical nature of the track and people really really over drive and attack it rather than just flow. There aren’t any actual 100% braking zones or corners (unless you are really really really sending it)

Edit: race win pic/gloat :)

Some very choppy sloppy intial racing in Daily Race C today, but I did better in my 2nd race where I used the Viper and reached 7th overall. Good battling but Daytona has a kanck to evoke the rammers all over in the race! Too much loose space and grass to spin out and get shafted up the backside lol!

While I've normally grumbled about bits and pieces here I went in for Daily C last night and had 2 great fun races. The first one another driver and I gapped the field and had a great back and forth battle. Lost when I took the turn 1 bump wrong and got a penalty for sliding on to the grass while saving it. 1 poor guy who was in our group did dive bomb me a couple of times on one lap but wasn't shoving me out of the way. It ended badĺy for them when I took the inside limit for turn 1 the next lap and they tried it again . . . and got the invisible wall head on.

Second race I was starting to have a good battle with someone driving the Vette but they gave me a bump draft too close to the chicane for my skill and I ended up with another penalty. Tried to alternate a bump draft with another driver tk catch back up to him but it never panned out.

But 2 very fun clean races with really good battles and racing.

Looks good in vr, I like how close to the window you are and that fov

I’ve just brought a psvr2 and I think this is just the week to test it out,

Mooi 😉

Actually tried a race tonight. GT gave me a brutal lobby though. Considering I’m currently B ranked, this doesn’t encourage racing again.

I ended up coming 12th. I’d worked my way up to 9th but lap 3 coming into the first hairpin we were 2x2 with me on the inside. I should have taken a screen shot from the replay as it was incredibly the closeness of the racing. I’m not sure if I out braked myself or was pushed in the rear (I suspect this as there was NO room between cars as we hit the brakes) and I dropped to 13th. I was able to regain one spot to finish 12th but not a good result.

I found it very hard to make moves and stay clean. I had a bit of a wall in front on me from a pack of cars fighting among themselves, often 3 wide. Then I also came across a somewhat dirty driver who would swing his car around the track to prevent others from passing. He was called out in the post race lobby by others.

I guess the only way to avoid starting at the back, was to get a good lap time so I ran at it.

Killer time there by @newmedia_dev. I’m struggling to find more time now but hopefully this will help in next races.

Couldn't have had a nicer surprise a few moments ago :)

Last night did my first race, started/ ended in P2 as I could not get past due to lots of lag and did not want to make contact. Then just now, tried another race and low and behold, starting 2 places above me in P7 was none other than @Barney Da Dog 😎

At first, my heart sank as I was pushed off at the start of Lap 2 and was down to P10 but the last 3 laps were side by side with Mr Doggie Style and quite enjoyed it! Cheers mate - how did you end up getting the pen btw?

I somehow got 1.5 seconds for running wide out of T3 - where I lost time anyway 🙄🤔 Which was a shame. I may have cut T2 a fraction and it just gave both penalties at the same time.

Nice to see you there, I took a couple of tenths off my qualy time waiting for the next race and got a P5 there. Hopefully get a few more in later 😎

So, together with my new psvr2 which I haven’t really used yet apart from 1 race in the radical at Sardegna, which spun me out a little, I also purchased (got on credit) a ps5 pro.

I’m not sure here but I noticed in the radical my first lap of QT I managed to take a tenth off where I didn’t seem to be able to on the base ps5, now on Interlagos, I seem to have more grip turning in, it’s weird and maybe placebo etc but also is there a miniscule input lag improvement, because I’m every so slightly faster on the pro than in the base 🤷‍♂️ could be I’m braking earlier and actually turning rather than braking too late and not turning but it’s noticeable.

Anyway, back to the dailies, managed to get my QT down to a 1.39.1xx and would have got into the 38s apart from a poor last corner where I couldn’t decide on 2nd or 3rd exit and just ruined it.

So I reckon I’m back where I need to be, half a second away from youse guys 😁

Weeks shaping well and I hope yours is too 👍

In VR the inputs both your physical ones and the way the game interprets them do actually mimic a much more realistic experience but as discussed on the other thread there is some black box stuff going on in VR, personally I think it’s to make the game more realistic so it takes some liberties with its own physics model/input control (like pad vs wheel)

VR is the best way to play this game!

Nice win mate!

No this wasn’t in VR just on the flat screen but on the pro instead or base ps5 🤷‍♂️

I need a week where I’m not going to be competitive and thus not super engaged, then I’m going to use that week to do wholly in vr

I must say not sure I can ditch flatscreen for daily racing, but more to expand on my play by doing challenges and time trial etc in vr (and also there’s a ww2 flying game out soon which id like to try)

But who knows maybe I’ll go over to vr fully one day but that’s not the immediate plan.

It did look amazing in that radical, but I’m looking to have all display off for full immersion etc when I do vr, maybe that means weekend racing once the track has been fully learnt and I’m QT’d up 🤣

Honestly mate when you are racing side by side in Gr4/3 you can have all the hud on and never even see it 🤣

It’s honestly for me the faster way to drive now, but a caveat to that is I was already doing a lot of analysis of my own driving and have carried that over, plus I raced cars and bikes in real life so this is something I find a little easier to rationalise when playing the game.

It’s good advice mate,

But I was torn for ages with not wanting to race fully in vr and cockpit view only etc when all the time the answer was there….

….. buy one anyway and race in vr and without!

Sorted 🤣
