Definitely race B is where I’ll be camping this week, race A is fine but 8 laps trying to keep the car inside the track T1 is too tense for me 😁

Set down a 1.40.1xx in race B with my super v8 looking G70

Got round to doing some races in A today as a little bit of SR repair.

The utter pricks that play this game, I can’t call out nationalities or driver rating or pace just muppets!

Absolute ****. Fair play to you keeping it together on the first lap. Quality driving sir. You should have pitted him when he put you in the wall. And that last brake check you could see coming. He purposely messed up the bend before and backed off on the straight.

Man Gardens really exposes understeer. Tried the atenza, g70 and nsx. G70 feels better than atenza but the Mazda copes so much better with the kerbs. The nsx I need more time with but it feels pretty good.

Ran a 40.8, not great but not bad. Entered two races and was punted out from top 5 placing in both ffs. Hopeless.

Anyway, went with the Perkins Castrol livery cos if u squint hard enough you can see a 1993 VR Commodore.

The 2 races B I did this morning were the best I had in all week. Sad it takes so long for people to figure out how to race on a track.
Same here. "Tremendous" weekend at Tokyo... until Monday morning when I had 3 wonderful races; something I hoped for all weekend. Luckily I was off, so it just washed away a big frustrating weekend of carnage and demotion back to DR B (usual yo-yo, due also to a rage quit, 1st one since I don't remember when). Racing side by side at Tokyo with no contact whatsoever was "illuminating" and rather funny. Eventually i went under the '56 ('55.844), but that didn’t matter that much, seeing the weekend's mood kinda like "Let's kill everybody and everything out there, like there's no tomorrow".
I actually did the last races B, when on screen there were already Brands and Laguna available, with Tokyo still on. Initially I thought we'd have Tokyo repeated for the week, and I admit that I was somehow happy to get a "second chance". Nope it was just an illusion.
Back on Gr4 for this week btw. Time to learn Dragon's layout. Started from a '40 dead (ideal 39.7) as first visit.
Brands looks nice also, so I set an initial '52.3 (ideal '52.0) to get used to the Clio. The race A combo looks very good also.
Have fun out there, guys.

With Daily A having no DR but still having SR, you'd think that people would actively avoid contact. That is apparently not the case.

Decided to do a Daily A for fun and a bit of a warm up. Qualifier put me 4th on the grid. Going in to the second corner, 3rd place went a bit deep, leaving me room to take the tighter line and go side by side leading up to the left. They backed out, allowing me to take 3rd. This was not really the case, as the replay showed that going in to turn 1 on lap 2, they didn't brake, not even a light tap. What they did do was line me up for a punt.

3rd to 8th.

On lap 5 the yellow flags went up and coming around the first left the person that was leading the race could be seen way off across the grass against a barrier.

I did manage to have a good race against MidVerStapen (something like that), managing to get around them by doing a switcheroo on the first left. But the race win went to Roman aka Ramming Roman, with first and second place being the only racers to lose SR points in the race.

"Good win" guys.

Having a lot of fun in race B still, which is good am at high CS and the racing is clean and fun, shortly I’ll be heading into B and I am sure low B will be fine but I’m banking on mid to high B being a little bit rough, there’s a lot of places to do someone over at Dragon Tail gardens - including the last corner which I almost fell foul of, luckily this chap didn’t really mean to do me damage and managed to spin himself in the process and was apologetic.

Let’s hope the standards stay like this 😁

Wow. Driving the BRZ on Laguna Seca for that many laps without taking myself out is just mindblowingly hard for me. And I did put some hours into it yesterday. I will probably leave it. (I think there is a hint about this in Tidgneys video: He goes for spin too.)

It's a hard car to drive and I think most people are better off driving something else.
'Fastest', yes, but it thrives in places of high downforce where it can get its mechanical grip down.

At Laguna those are all coupled with just as many places where you're putting tons of torque down at low speed and killing thineself.
It's not fastest if yer dead!

I've had a wild theory. Could they be making Gr3 and 4 slower to make room for V8 supercars? They'd be a great addition.

Also, the nations cup race was great. This is what we need for daily c ( or d). At least a 45 min race where you can use any two compounds.

It's really bad. Both races last night I was top 5 and was punted off. 1st race I was a solid 8 tenths up heading into the first left hander of sector 2 and dumbo behind me did a classic push pass. This game's failure to get on top of this type of side contact is ruining the experience, yes it is difficult to police every aspect of racing but front to side contact is very simple, it should never really happen.

2nd race I ran a bit wide through first long left hander but the guy behind me was still barely up to my bumper, he just stuck his nose in as we turned left for the first part of the chicane, just a stupid place to put himself as I had nowhere to go, I had to turn. Then he fails to give me space for the right turn into the sausage chicane and collects me again.

Just so many absolute idiots, scary thing is I don't think he did i ton purpose he just has zero clue how to race.

Here it is, more I see it the more it does my head in.

Now you’re talking, I used to watch v8s every Sunday morning when it was on some free to view channel and it’s decent, or was before redbull came in and won it all

I can imagine once I hit mid to high B I’ll be dropping straight back down, it’s like you fear braking in GT these days for what’s coming from behind! Is tiresome.

Have you tried the G70, it’s got a little more pace, especially off the line, maybe that helps to avoid the cannonball run

Legit you do feel nervous braking unless you're 3 seconds up the road. Yep the G70 is a little nicer to drive but my qualy times are about equal and the Mazda rides the kerbs better and I can be more aggressive on the throttle. The car with potential is the NSX I think, need a bit more time with it.

Fair one, not sure what brake balance you use but the G70 with plus 3-5 is planted, 0 it’s very unstable granted 👍

Nebuc sums it up, if you can go really really fast it’s a good choice.

Looking af the leaderboard there are a couple of driving style cars popping up now.

In all honesty are you top 100 using that car or are you really dialled in using something else and consistent? Use that 100% you’ll have a better week.
Spot on. I need to reconsider. Actually I set similar laps in the 911, but it felt easy. Then I changed to BRZ because nobody was in the Porsche.🙄
911 is fine, I think it’s second on Tidgneys car profiles at Laguna.

Remember the car is 10% of the equation, braking, accelerating and better decision making is the other 90%

Happy day of practice at Dragon. Down to '39.6 with room for some more 3-4 tenths of improvement. One at first corner, one at hill's esses and 2 at the following 4 apex turn. I don't see myself breaking the '39 barrier, but the low '39 is a possibility. Yesterday I was using +5 bb whilst learning the track. Today I felt way better using +4. Straight away the car came alive just with one click less, or maybe it's just me still in learning process.

On Laguna, is there a more dislikeable track in the game? Every corner is awkward, overtaking is difficult....... i dunno, for a famous track I have zero interest in it.

Yes, the world famous corkscrew. As everyone says, it’s known for its awkwardness!

It’s a great track which I’ve had the pleasure of driving on and watching a lot of good races at.

I like the track, it’s not as full desert as willow but has some corners you just have to get right, some real speed needed.

Don’t think it’s a gr3 track though, could never get that one going there. Gr4 however races well there imo

Solid technical track

Mid B is a train wreck! But doable, nobody is giving room, dive bombs, and all I've, been cutting them all off, brake checking on the straights. I've just brake early and watch them take care of themselves

Not sure which is my jam.

Race A: Clio V6 24V '00 - 0:52.994 Too short!

Race B: NSX Gr.4 - 1:40.770 Feels decent everywhere, except the first chicane and following hairpin

Race C: NSX Gr3. - 1:24.497 Left foot can't decide if it wants to brake too hard or too little
