Hope DR being on for A isn't a mistake. Best race this week by a country mile.
I agree, so much fun especially after the DR/SR hammering I took last week

Did a Bathurst at lunch, surprised to see 5 laps, dare I say it the Gr4 may not be fast enough for Bathurst 😁 and it was a bit sweaty fighting at the back of AS 🤨

But I thought this Lancer Delta race was on gravel so if that’s anything like the recent cosworth race on that track, it might be an A week again.

I really hate DF reverse (especially the uphill hairpin, turn 1?). So maybe it’s time to become less mediocre at Bathurst!

Anyone on here going to the World Series event in Los Angeles in November? Just got tickets for my son and I.

Erm yeah, race A is definitely something I could camp out in, that car needs some taming 😁

Not sure where I’ll be this week, I want to race Bathurst but I think gr3 might have been better there.

Not sure if anyone experiencing this, but I keep getting this damn error in my qualifying, never in a race, really annoying - but see how I managed to finish the lap 🤣

Did I say how much I like this race and with DR on!!

Edit:

This sort of stuff shouldn’t be allowed to happen, this is not fun in VR or with high torque especially as I couldn’t see a reason for it. Will share the whole replay as well.

Edit2 longer clip from my view from the start to after the incident, not going to lie I cynically bumped him in to gravel on the last lap such was my annoyance. Not proud but I sleep ok

You can see what provoked him at 1:12, you made it three wide, then moved over and squeezed him against the car on the outside.

In vr it didn’t quite look or feel like that, the car on the outside was not giving him room and there was minor contact, I shouldn’t have taken that room but it was there and I made sure I kept speed to take the right apex but he was turned in to and I was there.

All rough and tumble and no different to the 3 people including him did to overtake me….

Does that warrant a full throttle hit to someone though?

Do appreciate I’m normally in A/A+ lobbies where the awareness and space afforded is more considered so it seemed sensible with them squabbling and me nipping up there.

Bathurst it is, no idea why always Group 4 there though, track needs more HP.
You go and be King of the Mountain, ...Larry, ....err, I mean, Neville 😋

Yeah, I meandered around Mount Panorama in the Honda NSX last night. I agree, more HP would've been better.

BATHURST TRIVIA - 1979
I camped on top of the Mountain (Sulman Park) in 1979 and watched Brockie (Peter Perfect) win by 6-laps in his Torana A9X and set the Race Lap Record on the FINAL lap.
For some of the last laps of that race he even had his right arm resting on the windowsill 😯

In 1979, three of us, in a two-door Mazda RX4, with seven (7) slabs of beer in the back, ventured to the Hardie-Ferodo 1000.

We drove from Sydney and arrived at the Circuit Entrance at Hell Corner (Turn 1), paid our money, and then drove part of the track to access the camping area on top of the Mountain.
That little Mazda, with 3-blokes, and 7-slabs of beer, r-e-a-l-l-y ...s-t-u-g-g-l-e-d ...to get up the steep climb to The Cutting. You have no idea how steep that climb actually is until you experience it in person.

On top of the Mountain, in 1979, there was no reserved camping spots (first-in-best-dressed), no food or drink (it was all BYO), there was mud everywhere, there were no BBQ areas, no security, and there was only one Toilet Block, ...which after the first day was a disaster area, and totally unusable for the remainder of the weekend 💩

Nowadays, it is a very different camping experience for the Bathurst 1000. It's very well organised with camping amenities, security & assistance, and is family friendly too. Very much different from 1979.

Larry (Perkins) was there in 1979 too..., driving with Peter Janson.

Here is me with my 1978 Holden Torana SS Hatchback (4.2ltr V8).
I made it look like an A9X Replica by adding the flared Guards, bigger (Hotwire) Wheels, front & rear Spoilers, and Bonnet Scoop.

Unfortunately, I only had that Torana SS for a couple of years before I ended up selling to the Wreckers for $700 😢
Live & learn, I suppose.

So, I guess you get an idea of how old I am now 😱
These days I may be too old for a few things, ...but I'm not old enough to stop enjoying my GT7 (and other Racing titles) in my SIM Rig 👍

Enjoy racing online at Bathurst this week, ...and at Races A & C too 👍😊

Thanks for the reminiscing about the old days at Bathurst (and the photos). One day I’ll see a race there!

So I settle in for a quick 30 mins familiarity run and qualifying at Bathurst before racing. As usual I look at my friends list and seems most guys I am at pace with ran a mid to high 16. I start circulating and I'm thinking, jeez I think I have pace here! I run a low 17 but it is super messy, optimal is 16.3, I run a 16.8 amd decide to race.

Well, reality check, P14 in a A/+ split. :lol::lol:

I run a couple of messy races the land a 16.1, next lap I some 6 tenths up on that and spill it at the dipper dammit. I am really struggling through the right hander, car gets light amd I am not in a rythym. I was VERY fast through there with the dpad, I'd modulate gas and brake and just howl through there but it's another story with a wheel and pedals.

Anyways, qualified P8 and if you guys have not done this yet, be prepared as auto drive points you right at a wall!!! It's insanely bad.

My livery this week pays homage to the "King of The Mountain" himself, Peter Brock's iconic 05 Mobil 1 livery.

Hey guys, Bathurst was a track that I really was missing. Last time on Gr.4 FWD I couldn't enjoy it that much (I was nowhere in terms of pace and first time on a wheel). Time to put some effort in it now. Starting from a "take it easy" 2:15.4 (ideal '15.1). Can't find the rigth way to say how much I love the track (considering how long-winded can I be). I'll be planting my tent there all week anyways. Enjoy another fantastic week, guys. PD is on a high these days.
