Gotta say, this is a thoroughly garbage experience! Gonna settle in and watch a few videos you guys made of race A.
Race A is like visiting hell & coming back out in tears. I'm happy CGV has come but this isn't an apt race to welcome the track.

Mostly sticking with Race B & C.

General question: we still don't have to worry about oil/motor in Boped online races, right?
Depends, are you getting answers from the people who are convinced clean oil/new motor does nothing or are you getting answers from the people who are convinced that changing oil/changing motor has noticeable impact?

Personally I'm convinced it does and nobody can argue me out of that position. I'm sure someone else will come along shortly who says completely the opposite of me :D

:D

In this case i have to watch more of Tidgneys videos again. The only one i would trust with that. Well, and Famine.

I believe it does for two objective reasons with a bonus 3rd.

1. It’s in the game specifically to model certain engines performance characteristics, specifically revving and power performance that isn’t tied to weight or BHP

2. Bop only levels weight and power, it’s a sledgehammer approach that has to compete with the other systems. No hubris or ego, I can run at a consistent enough pace to feel and see the difference in my lap times

Bonus 3rd point:

When we are losing seconds to the top guys it’s not oil it’s ability, for them they can easily drive round the 1/10th here or there be see it more clearly as we aren’t even hitting their marks as clearly.

Summary:

I think it makes a negligible difference and that fast guys are just fast, it’s also a bit black box so we will never know but we can notice these things, I notice when I should go check my oil because it doesn’t “feel” right and in a game if something feels off it’s because of impact mentally or mechanically
