All action replay Nev and racing how it should be, I like the fact that QT is so important this week and the racing is so close, waiting for mistakes or tangles ahead until you get forward,

Maybe I’m only saying this because I have a good time and am starting on pole and converting fairly often this week - I might be saying the exact opposite next week in gr3 🤣
Other than one race, I have to say that MOST drivers are really trying to behave this week at Sardegna. It's extremely tight and as you enter higher rooms the consistency of most drivers means you can run in really close quarters.

As expected, DR-A rooms are tough sledding, I am starting bottom 3 but can sort of hang onto the pack in races. I keep my nose clean and pick way through when i spot small mistakes but don't have the pace to legit run with most guys 1 on 1.

It's an interesting experiment in skill this week, the high grip and low power means one's ability to carry mid corner speed is vital and this is my Achilles heel, I slow down 2 to 3kmh more than other A drivers mid corner and as a result get a slower exit too.

THis is a bit of a nothing race but shows how tight you can run in a pack with consistent drivers and trust their brake points, in saying that you will note I pull up early a lot of the time to avoid hitting the man in front.

Well it's safe to say my life is a joke 🤣 😅 😜 (dramatic statement, I know 🫣)

I improve my time once again, have my optimals well into the 1:50's once again, but cannot cross that mythical threshold - once again....

I then hop into 2nd account and start in P4. Going well, no rough racing at all, but unfortunately, I am constantly slowed down by the 3 in front, with no way of passing either. Then, within the space of 5 seconds, I lose 5 places and finish in P9. I did not make a mistake, I did not cause the upset, it was just me being unlucky as always... At least this time it was not because of unfair racing, it was just being in the wrong place at the wrong time.... Still sucks, though! 😵‍💫😓

How much torque are you running man? You're steering wheel is moving about like crazy. Interesting to see you're holding 3rd through the chicane, I must try that. Why do you intentionally pull out of the tow?

Your bad luck feels familiar, had a couple of races last night where I was patient, waited for the error but just caught the guy in front or pack at the exact wrong time and lost places. It happens.

Great time:bowdown: I've given up trying to improve mine, and I'd need to be in the 50s to get further up than around 6th in most races. Tiny bits of contact have dropped my SR to a low S, so may do some nice relaxing C races to get the SR up again

Since the ghost is often used on daily races and TT....(I tried to search all forum but didn't find the question)

My father plays gt7 and I'm trying to make my ghosts public (so he can follow my laps) .

I save the replay, open to all, sign as content on show case... But my father still can't see/load my ghosts/replay.

Anyone had this problem? I also searched on internet but im not finding anyone who had this problem.
Think it always helps to add a #…. and that way he can search for that and find it hopefully.

Thanks @Gurzu !!! , this I can do, but my father can't see my ghosts...
You need to go to the replay in “showcase” on the left hand side of the pop up under play is “share” if you share it he will be able to see it either in his feed if you are friends or just my selecting you from his friends tab or just searching for it.

Edit:

He has to add it to a collection. Then do the following.

Then select the collections tab and it will appear

If you want to view someone else's ghosts on your own account, you need to add them to your Collection.

To do this, go to Showcase, select Following (assuming you are following them), select the type of Content (in this case Replays) and browse to the specific item you want.

Anything with a purple lap time on it is a single-lap ("Best Lap") replay. Select the one you want and then click on "Collection":

Now the lap can be loaded as a ghost from within the relevant event. And yes, only content which has been Shared is viewable.

DD Pro with 15nm toque boost and 97 FFB in wheel.

In-game below:

  • 10 Controller sens
  • 7 Controller FFB
  • 9 FFB Sense
It's a workout I know 😅 But only way I can get the stupid car to turn without understeer since FF

Super ! I'll try to do it with my father ps5.

I believe it was automatic, because I can load global rank ghosts without adding to my collection/items.

Should have the option on qualify to load the ghosts on the "friends rank table" like the World rank Table..this is weird on my opinion

You need to go in the ghost menu and load it. It's at the bottom of the settings menu. On top there's the car's setting, on the bottom the ghost's one. Can't show with a picture cause I'm still on the way back home.
Thank you @Gurzu , I'll try the solution of the guys above and check if my fathers can load my saved and shared replays as ghosts

I was using DD+Clubsport 15nm almost in full, it was impossible to handle and it can...for sure...destroy my hand/wrist..
Im using now 60% / 50% of his power

A time that is in the top 10 globally when it is set is (usually) uploaded and open to all automatically, appearing on the leaderboard. There's no manual way to do that.

Yet another win at lunch today, that’s 6 for the week and I can relax and let anything happen this weekend now, my week is complete 😁 decided no more early morning racing, it’s fine early in the week for practice purposes but no chances to win against A+

Now at very high B so not sure what next week brings at gr3 but doubt it’ll be this good.

Enjoy your weekends guys and happy hunting out there

I don't get it. This week I registered a good lap time for race B (1:51.482, A DR bar between 30 and 50%)...at the beginning I was matched with all A and A+ DR players, but now even if I keep gaining DR points the grid is mostly B DR. I always have to fight with B drivers on my ass, and I start 2nd-4th.
If players were getting better all together this week, I wouldn't be 843 in my region. I'd be in the 3.000 or something.

What DR are you? I am sure it’s something to do with time of day with player numbers and where exactly you are on the DR chart to as who you are grouping with

Or something 🤣

Sorry, A, my keyboard missed the key.

I don't know sometimes it's really random. I'm AS matched with AS and A+S at the top...and then from 5th to 16th it's a plethora of BS, sometimes BA and BB (I always worry when I see those low B SR....)

EDIT: it must be random yes, because in the last race we were 90% AS and A+S.

I have a theory…..

I’ve set some exceptional times in the last few Weeks and am starting anywhere from p4-10 and there is a lot of names I don’t recognise.

But I’m also in lobbies with 3 out of the top 20 in the world and they are considerably faster.

So to my theory, they match making tries to put you with friends and DR/SR but at a certain point it ignores those and your pace and SR start to weight a little more.

For me the top 10 on my leader board are all in the top 50, my time is 100s away from that. I’m much to Neville’s fair point still a low A driver and these are top 3/4 split lobbies with a lot of sweat in them.

That all said I’ve brought home some solid 4-8th places in competitive lobbies. This is what I think the point is. We all get to that point where it clicks and we run away with wins.

Then….we start to race people who are as quick if not quicker than us, the racing dynamic and expectation changes. I have no belief that I can win in some of these races, I can just about stay with the pack at the front but I’m not gonna send it or over drive to get there when these guys mostly are fair and good drivers.

The downside of getting better is it gets harder, the upside is you lose a lot less DR and gain a lot of experience.

Yeah sometimes we win DR points simply because the top players mess up and end up at the back of the pack.
I've noticed this mostly in the competitive lobbies. Free points yay.

Sometimes it's luck/bad luck, sometimes it's skills. Today a BS fooled us all and won the race by a mile. Figures.

Opinion.

I had this race earlier, surprise surprise I won it again, but I had to be seriously defensive all race to keep this chap at bay, I ask for opinions because I remember mentioning the weaving thing which got some comment, I don’t do that anymore btw.

So I’m not sure on the etiquette, I’ll happily let folk go if they are along side and heading into a corner on the inside and I’ll try some late breaking on the inside if I can’t do it without contact,

After this one I sort of thought, ‘I’d ram me off eventually’ but this guy behind in the Atenza was super patient.

Funnily enough the race after I was matched with AA and AB and started like 8th so the streak could well be over 😁

You drove a good race.

No qualms from me.

However lap 3 turn 1 I think you ran the line and he backed out of it, had they taken the wide line and kept on it you would have run them wide, that’s the only thing I really saw but giving space is more important than giving a position up.

It was good that you were both clean racers and he backed out of it which kept you both going fast to escape P3.

I’d of probably taken a tighter line and given them the exit space but he was happy to sit behind so so issue.

All good in my opinion, just defence...
i had issues in the beggining to understand how to be defensoive without being dirty

I felt the pressure 🤣, nice win.
Lap 3 1st corner and lap 4 last corner I wouldn't have done that. I would have kept the inside.
I don't know maybe I just don't want people to retaliate.

The honest answer is….

If you want to progress then P1 or P2-4 is fine, with clean SR you will gain DR

If you want to win races well that’s a different thing.

What you don’t need to do is win races to be better and faster. It’s why people bounce up and down in DR rankings because they focus on the win not the result and subsequent nett gains vs position.
