Firstly it seems true. Watch the great video if you are interested in the gamepad. You'll also see why they used that track.If this is valid, i am really surprised and impressed. Surprised, because everybody told me that they became about 1second better, since they started using a wheel.
Impressed by the creators of gran turismo to make it that equal. The margin is like nothing, except for the A+ drivers, maybe. On the other hand, blue moon racetrack isn't the best track for such a comparison.
Edit: i just saw they claimed "alfa 4c" the grippiest, now i have trust issues 🤭
Secondly, if a wheel would be 1 second faster for the best players, people like calster should get the GTWS trophy for free. ;-)
As shown in the video it's very track and car dependent.

Great video by Chals that explains how the pad has changed since launch and what issues it currently faces, and how that affects competitiveness against the wheel.
From their perspective, the pad is currently at quite a disadvantage overall, with some specific car/track combos being closer to the wheel.
