So…. Get ready for a Glen diatribe.

Dragon trail seaside is almost perfect for GR4 it’s fractionally to long but workable.

What I really want to talk about is decision making. Mostly the lack of it.

Here is an A+ driver trying to make a move that isn’t on and defended twice, the second time I show why this is a really bad move.

He cuts back across twice because he is focused on fast….not what’s happening and who’s around him.

The first time notice the inside space I left.

Then the second time, this isn’t a move in an A/A+ lobby because the competency level is much higher and I’m way happy defending slow corners

But people do people for “reasons” which I assume is how they race prying the door open but it’s not good decision making or racing.

The thing here is, what do you gain overtaking here? The best place is the last corner with the cutback line everywhere else is forcing it. Where is the race thinking :/

Edit: to be clear the dance only works if he’d taken the cut back late line, not dive in to the racing line while I’m actually there.

Having a lot of fun with @newmedia_dev on B races....most players on the lobby already knew as clean drivers...

Very good week !

It’s been a great week, the only thing I would say is people aren’t learning how to race.

A+ guys rocking up off the pace and forcing it isn’t a great reflection on them. Other wise the racing has been really good I had a bit of rage yesterday, with people wanting places so we lose the front 3 but they will learn eventually. Overall a great race and @NevilleNobody took the death chicane flat, a good week all round.

I just need to do a couple of laps in the morning and beat @TechnoIsLove and all is good

This was a wild one from last night! From P14 to the front with a massive crash, a bit of rallycrossing and a lot of help from some friends at the end. I'm surprised these lobbies have had so many Viper's in them, the Z4 is lovely, it loses a little time on the straights but through the corners it handles really well, if better players than me gave it a go they could be winning races on merit.

Morning, hope you had a nice sleep @TechnoIsLove 😀

Did a few laps….

Legendary as always 😁

Good watch, spectacular ending

So, had a better Sunday racing day, had to resort to the alt account, which was at BS and the racing was good, I have to say when I hear I can’t take the CoD without crashing, I get it now, in traffic that’s really hard to navigate, in QT or at the front in DR C it’s of course easy 😆

And I managed to beat my time on my alt account, twice! Figures! Been trying all week 😂

Anyways, really good racing on the whole this week, looking forward to next week and hope it’s not a week to miss since the kids have been at home this last two weeks and I’ve mostly missed one on my lunch,

Hope you’ve all had a good week and here’s to next 🍻

I haven't been able to improve my QT at Dragon Trail all week - I'm stuck 3 seconds behind the best times on my friends list, and that's in the G70.

My Atenza time is 1 second slower than the G70, I'm mystified as to how people are getting such fast times in it!

It doesn't seem to be quite so fast in race though, the Citroen looks to have been fastest in the rooms I have been in, although two races today were won by people in Alfa 155s.

I for 1 think we need a ‘Clown of the Circuit’ feed. Below is a clear example of what I mean

This completely ruined my race and it’s another example of poor driving 🙄

It’s strange because I didn’t try the g70 until the weekend and it was way too bouncy over the kerbs! The Atenza was a nice smooth ride 😁

Wasn’t on it last week time wise but there were some nice racing

Yes, you have to stay well clear of the kerbs in the G70! I managed to get it to do a 180 spin in midair twice (unintentionally!).

True the G70 was bouncy which is why despite setting my best QT of 1:48:274 in that car, I never raced with it. I did try the Atenza as well as I saw the best times were set in that car. I found the Atenza more responsive than the G70 but I found overall the G70 to be better.

My preferred car was the Mazda3. It was very stable over the kerbs & much faster than G70 & Citroen at times. Out of all the cars I drove, I found the Audi TT Cup the most stable over the kerbs but it wasn't the quickest.

True the G70 was bouncy...
It seems the G70 (others, too) only bounces when you're running wide-open. Lift a bit and the superball physics go-away. I clipped the curb at the haripin before CoD and went airborne when we were three wide...didn't end well. Much apologizin' after that.😁

The Autobianchi is back? I've found my happy place.🤣

Hey guys, I made my first visit to DT last week. Even if I managed a '47.5 (47.0ish ideal), I rather choose not to race. It was a sort of luky lap among lot of failures. I nailed the COD (I mean totally flat out at 205 km/h) olny one every 3 or 4 laps. There's still a lot to work for me before even think to race there. For unknown reasons the COD it's easier (almost automatic) for me in Gr3 during the circuit's experience than in the slower Gr4.🤔
Yesterday I got also sick, so by the afternoon I was a real zombie with fever and huge nose leakage. Not really my best shape, I admit. I couldn't unfortunately work on the final Citroën's livery, then. Still, I'm quite happy, cause in the beginning at DT it was a sort of dilemma going even below the '48.4.
This weekend I'll be on the "boring" side. A1 Ring will be my playground, with some escapades in Suzuka for fun.
Have an excellent week, everyone.

Here's this weeks guide for those interested;

Not a fan of Race C at all.. just repeat combo with no imagination! Although the same could be said for A as we have done that combo before to, could have been any other track!

Was eagerly waiting as always @Tidgney . I've only played Race B and Race C just once but needs Your insightful lap guide for nailing the braking through Your reference points on braking.

Your lap guide vids are always refreshing so thanks a ton Mate.

The monday summary that no one asked:

Race A: so much fun, best combo of the week by far (sadly no DR involved)
Race B: a sprint race in GR.3 on a track with esses and a chicane after a long straight? I predict no less than 3 deaths per race no matter the lobby
Race C: I always wondered what could be more boring than Gr.4 on RBR and PD answered that question today. Gr4 on RBR with no compulsory stop to avoid any possibility of undercut/overcut strat.

Am not going to post my own summary as this sums up my feelings exactly.

The G70 is starting to become as bad as the Mazda 3 was for months after launch. The RWD just isn’t competitive anymore at all but a few tracks (maybe)

B is fine, just the sort of race where you work on your QT until “people figure it out” otherwise it’s a lobby lottery each time.

C with no weather, mixed compounds or even fake pit to manage traffic or the under/over is just a B race 7 laps to long :/

Race C with 12 laps with no strategic factor just doesn't make sense. Either 2 tyre compounds or weather change would've made it challenging.

You were WAAAAAAYYYYY smarter than I was...and I wasn't even CLOSE to your times, lol. I took the sled out for a couple races (literally, just two) and saw a P10 and a P12 finish, both from P5 starts. Strong indicator to just put the controller down. It was the consistency that got me...was doing great until I wasn't, and when it went "wasn't" it was ALWAYS at the CoD with no hope for recovery.

I think I ran five/six laps all week so that's what I get for 'starting' on Sunday, lol.🤣
