Gonna be honest, don't recall running Gr.4 at Spa previously (me personally, that is) and I gotta say, it feels like a size ten shoe for a size 8 foot, but we'll see. St. Croix gonna be a party, tho. One of my favorite tracks. 👍

Race A will be a blast once everyone leaves the house and I can crank the stereo to listen to the LFA scream.😁

Haha, you’re not wrong there, had a race at lunch and the back straight takes a absolute age, then everyone dives into the corner,

Mediums before on gr3 but not gr4, and is quite long at 5 laps of 2.31!

I’ll try race A tonight but I might be leaving Spa, can’t see its any fun

First thing that came to mind was running the Nord' in the Kart...definitely time for a nap here and there. All that straight and not a drop of nitrous on board.🤣

Did 2 races on St. Croix after 30 minutes of time trialing to get to (re)know the track a little.

First race: Started P3, finished P4. Someone that started behind me was clearly a bit quicker and finished P3. It was a clean race because I didn't have the P1 / P2 pace, and the rest didn't have my pace. But happy with P4!

Second race: Started P6 and got into the 'elbows out heavy battling midfield' portion of cars. Someone punted me into another car. The car that I hit decided to make my life miserable (and called me dirty afterwards). I got a 4 seconds penalty for it. Later on I was about to make an overtake when yellow flags appeared. The other guy quickly braked fully so I couldn't help but overtake him under yellows: another 3 sec penalty. Finished P10. Oh well, you win some you lose some. And it's only Monday so it's rough going for everyone.

Still need to find out how to take turn 3. Everyone accelerates away from me there. If I get on the power so quickly I just spin. And I still need to learn the long sweeping right hander at the start of sector 3. Such an important corner, but hard to nail the correct line / lift off / accelerate again sequence.

Question for you guys: How quick is the Peugeot RCZ considered with the BOP as it is now? I 'never' see it in the quickest times, but I find it very stable and nice to drive. Does it lack top end speed compared to the M6's and Vipers you see more often these days?

Race A seems like it will be hectic, followed @newmedia_dev ghost and managed to squeeze into the 1.11s but wow that’s an arm workout right there!

Started pole in my BA lobby, first corner they all piled in like amateurs 😂 dropped to last! Managed to pull it back to second - nuts!

Not sure where I’ll be all week to be honest, probably A
I just did my first A was pole, last, 7th and finished 9th, a little more warm up is probably be able to hold a top 3 but it’s like the abarth race at Suzuka but more hectic and the cars have way more mass. And are really tricky to drive.

I don’t think B is for me as I’m not a particular fan of spa (great to watch for me, not something I enjoy driving) and C yet to even turn a wheel there and possibly won’t this week as I remember it was a real struggle in GR1 bug to do the circuit experience. We will see I’ve gotten a bit smoother since then.

I like Race B. I am a believer in the adage that it's more fun to drive a slow car fast than a fast car slow.

I grabbed another win at break time

For turn 3 start to brake as You straighten the car for that turn. You can turn early into that corner for a faster exit out of there.

As for RCZ, I can't say much. I had tried one of my favorites 4C but it's no match for most of the cars. If You want a stable car, You should try my Meta car for this race - Merc AMG Gr3 '20. It's like a dream. Much more stable than the M6. You could try the Supra as well.
So happy that we got St Croix! I did ask a few weeks ago if we could do St Croix or any track not used before the new tracks come, and they did it! WAHOO!

Thanks dear @Tidgney . Really looking forward to see Your Race C experience & lap guide. I love St. Croix to bits. A few turns I needed Your valuable braking references after which I'll set an ernest qualy time. Thanks a ton for Your effort each & every week.

Hey everyone, I lost the thread of the conversation a bit lately. Busy with work, tired from last week and my forearm is getting better lil by lil, but still painful. I only could drive in the oval TT last weekend, cause it was just 20 sec a lap for 2 not so tight left corners. Catalunya was too much pain, so I dropped out after trying some practice Saturday. Must say; the oval TT is mesmerising even more than Daytona.
This week I'll be off from Thursday and, if my arm agrees, I'll be happy to be at "slowly" Spa. St. Croix isn't for me, cause I've driven there only in SP long time ago and I don't think I can be competitive not even in D lobbies.
Hope everyone's racing week goes well.

Thanks for your advice. Had a bit of time to practice a little Yesterday evening. My turn 3 is better now. The long right hander (turn 8 I believe) is still a mess.

As for the RCZ. I don't know what the differences are between controllers or wheels, but I love the handling of this car on the controller. I loaded one of the world's top 50 ghosts (BMW M6), driving the RCZ myself, and when my corner exits were okay I could stay with the ghost or even be faster for a short while! At least after the final corner and at turn 3.

Maybe the M6 has a sleightly better top end speed? It drives away from me on the long straight, but that's more because of my terribly lousy turn 8 corner exit speed. What the M6 does better however, is braking, despite the RCZ's lower weight. But apart from that I think I can match most M6's. At least in DR C or DR B lobbies. What's really important is that I almost never have the feeling that I'm spinning out, so that gives me trust.

My faith restored.

Just finished one of the very best races, ever, in GT7 daily races. Race C today was epic. Filippa (I hope I spelt that ok) from Sweden qualified 0.001 faster than me. He was in the BMW and I was in the Supra qualifying in 5th and 6th respectfully.

After the chaos of the first one and a half laps we got free of the divebombers and idiots, overtaking 4th and then 3rd place cars. We had such great fun in such close quarters for 7 laps, but never more than probably 0.6sec apart on the odd occassion. We came in 2nd and 3rd. I came third and was thoroughly delighted. Got past a few times and wished we still had one more lap.

So tight, so close, so fast all race yet never came to blows. Just fantastic clean racing. Well done Filippa.

I've been having a great time in the slippery (even on Sports Softs) Lexus at Watkins Glen. Staying alive is a constant concern, but once you find a little group that you trust (isn't that just the Race A mantra!?) you can have really fun battles over a decent 7 laps. The competitive edge of DR activation is really important here, like trying to play poker without real stakes, it's just not the same when it's turned off. Four clean races in a row last night tells me I'm doing something right..

I've got one eye peering over at St.Croix... I had a really entertaining single player session at the WTC 800 using the V12 Vantage recently* and even though I don't expect that car to be competitive, getting the chance to practice the circuit (albeit a different layout) has reassured me there's some good racing to be had. Maybe I'll jump over to Race C at some point before the weekend hits.

(* for those interested, I managed to beat the AI after four attempts with some precise fuel saving, chasing down the leaders into the final sector. The front two ran out of fuel at the penultimate corner).

Ran two races at Spa, the MR cars are quite fun there, though i need to learn how to modulate my trail braking as I am using it too long and the rear is snapping in some corners.

My qt is just over 2pc off the fastest time and this almost hurts me as despite being DRB I am lumped in with A and A+ dudes, tough sledding.

My weapon of choice is the Bathurst 12hr liveried Lambo of Lamborghini Australia.

Today drove just under 1000kms which shows how much I'm digging the St. Croix race.

My qualy time is still at 2:23:407 which usually sets me about last on the starting grid. I lap by lap make places (if things go by my way such as drivers ahead of me run wide or crash). It feels more satisfying to make ground. Even if I don't make much ground, I enjoy racing around this amazing circuit.

Today I tried the M6, Supra, RC F & the 911 '17 as well.
  • M6's biggest advantage is the way it handles the bumps on the fast left hander before the final turn. I was having major issue with power oversteer with this car which doesn't suit my driving style.
  • The Supra is fast & probably my second best option if not for the Mercedes car. It's nimble & turns well.
  • The RC F is fast as well but had instances of power oversteer as well with this car. It's a good car for those who can handle it.
  • The 911 in general is decent but imo isn't capable of fighting the the M6 due to lack of hp. It's stable though.

As You can see the preferred car is the M6. I'm the most comfortable the Mercedes though even if it's a little stiff when it comes to handling capabilities.

I have to retract what I said earlier.

Seems I won't be racing on my primary account at all for the next 30 days thanks to another mysterious PSN ban. Thanks Sony.

Literally the only things I've uploaded are race replays with a brief description of the events within them. I got a language filter warning for the word "launching" which I had to abbreviate in order to get it through. I've long since quit reporting rude comments from others because that just seemed to bring more trouble to my door.

I've been using the post chat presets other than one "great race" manual comment, so I'm completely at a loss.

@Famine I'm correct in saying there's no way for me to appeal this nonsense, right?

Hopefully I'll see some of you out there on my alt account. Otherwise I'm really really hoping this doesn't ruin the Spec 3 launch for me. I've booked time off and everything.

The livery is from the German company BASF, producing chemical gases, paint and thousands of other things. The famous BMW M1 also had a livery from them, and at first glance, i thought,, woow a M1. My corvette gt4 looks like that as well.

Tried another race B today, got the QT down to 2.31.1xx, had a nice little battle with 2 others for 4 laps until the leader took offence to a slight touch on the rear, I backed off a bit only for him to slow and try put me into the wall and ended up coming off worse himself, p3 won, I came home 5th and ball bag was plum last 🤷‍♂️ nice work

Hesitant to try WG again but somehow I feel this might be a long week

Edit. Before I try and something I left out of my race A yesterday, what’s the starting start tips for WG? TCS 1 and run the first gear, I got swamped because I got stuck in the gears a bit 😁

I can’t be the only one that finds “high speed BoP on spa with gr4” funny, I’ve nearly finished my drink half way down the kemmel lol
Was getting a sore knee yesterday after being foot to the floor for so long!

The racing is close, but a bit dull, with a desperate lunge being about the only option to overtake - then you compromise the exit and get passed by half a dozen cars on the next straight!

Really enjoy C as a time trial, but I'm still too slow to be competitive in race.

Oops .. bought this

That is fanatastic

Honestly, thought you’d been bitten by a rogue pangolin

You MIA and Techno on the run (it’s a long story but his Maltese exploits put him
On interpol and he’s hiding in the far east, possible Cambodia but 🤷‍♂️

No pangolin bites, but I have been off work due a torn hamstring - done when giving CPR to a drowning sheep🐑

And we also got this little hooligan - he cut off the internet earlier, after biting through the phone line 🙄
