Last one at the Nürburgring for the week. Started 11th. Someone took out half the field probably on a burner account as it's name was something with a 2 in the end. Finished 3rd.

Was fun while it lasted. Went from low B to exactly mid B without losing fully charged SR:S.

Nothing waiting for me in the coming week. I'll play something else.

Played a few already.

Race B - Loving how Gr. 4 machinery is being spoilt for choice. Last week we had the Nurburgring & this week it's Mt. Panorama. Again a real thrill to drive Gr. 4 cars here. BTW, as expected, seems the G70 is the most balanced car to use here.

Race C - Grand Valley reverse is fun. Even though a pit stop is not mandatory, running on RS will probably make You visit the pits again. Just wish there were 2 tyre compounds. Nonetheless, it's real refreshing this race.

Quick question, do wins at the ‘ring daily race not count towards your podium wins on your dashboard? I got a pair of these and my “gold” win count didn’t increase but my silver did…

Ugh.
A is an Evo one-make (and why the rally cars anyway?)
B is a G70 one-make.
C is just a hideous circuit in any direction (I like the new location, just hate racing on it).

So much free time after Wednesday. So little reason to spend it on these. Back to the Power Pack.

Im already missing the ring 😭

I hate the heavy G70 with passion but my love for Bathurst is strong enough to race there in spite of that car.
Im sticking to race B this week but I can see rivers of blood falling down the mountain the whole week

This is the discussion thread for an article on GTPlanet:

Gran Turismo 7 Daily Races: 2,000 Miles

The relentless pace of Daily Races continues with a fresh set of three events this morning to tide players over during what we expect to be a high-participation Christmas week — and it’s a full set of racing cars and in fully ranked events too...

A reminder for anyone doing Daily A: The 3 '90s cars are effectively a separate sub-class with 200 horsepower less than the rest of Gr.B under BoP. Do not pick them unless you enjoy losing.
Also within that sub class, the Subaru is a lot slower than the other 2

I had the CRAZIEST reset in race C - This MUST be a bug.

I've worked my way up to 4th, from 9th, and I get loose going over the bridge. I get a tank slapper happening, but I gather it up and JUST as I am about to rejoin the track, I get reset to the back of the field, all the way back to the tunnel!!!

Suffice it to say, I quit Sport Mode for the day 😒

Won't have much time this week as I am hosting 23 people but had to give bafurst a try. Ran a 17 flat but was on for a 16.3 before the new downshift rules caught me out and I messed up the final corner. I guess ive missed all the chat on physics and the downshift changes but yeah, bit odd. Also guess I missed the chat kn the insa e amount of wheel shake there is on the dd pro again, its absolutely brutal.

What is this shifting thing, because I am getting it and I’m now thinking my wheel might be faulty. For me I keep missing up shifts into 2nd gear, also my circle button needs a couple of clicks sometimes and so does my R2 button on the gtddpro

I’m on my second base but the wheel itself must be a few years old, maybe since gt7 came out so I wonder if 4200 races is taking its toll,

I’m waiting to find more detail before I potentially upgrade to a dd extreme now that has 30% off.

Anyways, I just nipped your time by a whisker but I think im all raced out this week, might do a TT this week and some more Bathurst QT but that’s it until the weekend.

Have a good day and great Christmas everyone 🙌👍

It was part of the update, essentially previously you could bang down the box way beyond the hard and soft limiters, in the real world especially in modern cars it’s nigh on impossible to do this without killing the clutch, synchro mesh and actual cogs (autos and dual clutch won’t allow it either)

So they added some crude blocking to when you can shift which better aligns with reality and mechanical sympathy.

It’s an adjustment for a lot of people who typically do a lot of braking and downshifting on the same phase rather than coming down the box more naturally. It’s not a big a issue in VR as we can see the actual rev counters so real life mental model kicks in for me at least so I shift more naturally in the braking phase.

@newmedia_dev cheers for that, might just bear with a little longer whilst I procrastinate about a new wheel or base etc. more reality, can’t be a bad thing.

@Barney Da Dog awesome rig, I am somewhat hunting/reviewing one of these too, keep being led towards the aluminium square base with a 90 angle upright but it just looks ugly 😁 yours does look cool and that seat is quality! I need to get more immersion 😁

I am all for the change as I have been quite vocal about "gear spamming". In saying that, at Murray's corner (last turn Bathurst), I don't feel like I am abusing the car shifting into 2nd yet it borks me everytime, i'll get used to it but the muscle memory is kicking in. My bigger gripe was guys using 1st into 3rd gear corners then shifting up furiously, always felt a bit fake.

That’s all it is is muscle memory around timing, what’s really cool about it is it takes some of the panic out of it and just creates a more, slow, downshift, keep slowing downshift rhythm rather than “BRAKE, bang bang bang”

I agree on that last corner at Bathurst though….it doesn’t seem like the speed/revs is the real limiting factor but again I’ve only done 1 lap in the atenza and 2 in the g70 so far as I’ve been unwell, will do a few more laps tonight and see if I can find the rhyme or reason for it.
