I have to say, I think I’ve found a new love for race C, bit if strategy and little longer races I am liking, had a good time at RBR, back topping DR B and SR S, some good clean battling has come my way!

Have a great 2026 all 👊
Last week I didn't touch Gr. 4 race at Mt. Panorama as was playing Grand Valley Gr. 3 race all the time. This week, it's reverse. I'm only playing Race C Gr. 4 race at RBR. Not a big admirer of RBR circuit as a whole but because of RM/RS strategy factor, it's fun playing a long but calculative race. Rarely I use the Meta (G70). I'm sticking with one of my absolute favorites - Mazda3.

Not touching Race B at all though. LM in reverse is more fun than the normal flow though.

Next week, we will supposedly have Gr. 3 racing at Tokyo which should be hell lot fun.

Did a few more laps, gentlemen can we keep this civil please… @Barney Da Dog @TechnoIsLove

If You find LM in reverse so bad, I can't wait for Your feedback on Nordschiefe in reverse.........
Tbh its not really a race track is it, so to speak. I mean it is but really suited to 6hr plus enduros not sprint racing. I've never really been a huge fan of overly complex tracks, spa or Bathurst is about as long as I prefer, tracks like yabby dabbi with relentless fiddly corners do my head in.

I personally don’t care for Lago or Spa for different reasons, Lago has corner lines that invite people to push where realistically you shouldn’t be, combined with the majority of corners being medium to high speed, Spa I understand the history and mystic but once you can go consistently flat through eau rouge/radillion the rest is just quite clunky.

LM in reverse requires a very specific driving style (hence the BRZ meta this week) and it can feel quite clumsy in reverse imo

I hate the big stupid banking. I like the bulk of the track, but then there's the unrealistic banked corner. It would have been much better as a wide, multiple line corner.

Forward ot reverse feels good to me. It's just that one corner, and of course, it's also where the bulk of the problem occur.

Yeah, I don’t particularly enjoy it in either direction, purely because most people don’t know how to take it. So things get messy when really it’s not a scary corner but the banking seems to make it appear like it’s a do or die zone

If anyone still wishes to improve their qualy ranking for Race C, do take a look at a few top ranked players in the list who have used Atenza. It seems You can go as wide as this user at turn 1 to gain a tenth or two heading to turn 3. It's surely a part of the track limits which I believe is strictly for qualy. In the race, this far wide would be a penalty.

P.S. - One thing I've noticed is that when entering turn 1, if You were to ride on the kerb which would make Your car unstable enough to run wide at exit of turn 1, the penalty doesn't kick in. This is what happened to this user on the fast lap.

Yeah that’s about the only corner you can take a little over but any more than that and you’ll have a pen,

In the photos below (from previous RBR race) my car (Greggs livery) got a penalty. The other car, one of the fastest global times, did not. It’s something to do with either the specific shape of the penalty zone, or a slight lift when beyond the limit, or some other trick. Needs a full investigation! 🤣

It’s either one, you can lift fractionally to avoid the pen or you can hit the curb parallel to it which can miss the pen zone, neither are consistent though as the margin is really fine.

I’ve found I can close fractionally on the ghost with hitting the turn in curb just right (Atenza) doing it in the G70 is dicey as hell however.

What's the deal with purple sectors. I was watching a vid from a known YouTuber and he drove a 24.8 in sector 1 of RBR, which yielded him a purple sector time. Later that race he drove a 25.0 in sector 1 and also got a purple sector. He didn't get a penalty in the 24.8 lap. So how does this work? Does it reset every lap and was the 25.0 the fastest at that particular lap?

Your second lap will always be purple sectors…everything after that is measured to the fastest lap delta.

A purple sector is one which is faster than the total time up to the end of the same sector on the fastest recorded valid lap.

Thanks. So what I probably saw was this: The 24.8 was purple because it was the first flying lap, but ultimately not the fastest. The 25.0 was again purple because the fastest lap time at that moment had a sector 1 time slower than 25.0?

I think one of the worst trolls returned to sport mode… He’s currently stuck in B Lobbies. Maybe this post helps getting him banned again…

Yes, exactly that.

You don’t need (and a lot of the times) a fastest sector everytime to get the fastest lap.

Yes is the answer to your assumption.

I’d edit that to “meme driver” or just leave it at trolls mate….you’ll warned and he won’t be banned from GT. Just trying to be helpful

Didn’t he get a permanent console ban in the past for his behaviour?

@newmedia_dev nice to see you out on track mate, Shame it got a bit rough and ready, I’d been starting bottom 2 or 3 all week in my high BS lobbies because I just don’t have that last half second or so to be fighting for wins.

RBR is a funny track, I like the touring car feel to it but it’s just hard work sometimes and folk just don’t want you racing against them sometimes!

I saw your replay and what was that other fella going on about, spamming the chat, you go through his pen ghost and he pushes you out until you go sideways into him, all his bad

How do you define permanent?

Also naming him here isn’t the thing we do.

He has multiple accounts and also some followers, and it had disappeared for a while but here we are…as helpful as you think it is, it’s not.

It causes people to retaliate or worse show “street justice” which then fuels and moves the acceptability curves.

That’s why we don’t rise to these things or sideways promote them.

All I want to do is warn people, that’s it.
All I’m saying is we know and your late to the party.

Nothing wrong just saying this is the choir so preaching to it is fairly mute on these things.

But more importantly we just don’t give those people air time, head time or word space ignoring them is completely fine and the right thing to do.

Finally won a Race B - man that track is tough, but I quite enjoy it - feels really good getting a decent lap in (which is still 1.7 seconds off the top time!) I got closer to @newmedia_dev - would have been closer but got got wheelspin coming on to the start-finish straight:banghead:

Race C.... OK racing but the damn track limits are soooooo infuriating - particularly after being shoved wide! Lose time, a place, and get a penalty:grumpy:

Race A... well I've not raced it, but did complete a few qually laps without crashing - so I'll count that as a win.

Mate try this as it works most of the times.....

Whenever You go off track either cause of late braking or getting pushed off by a competitor, immediately lift off the gas/accelerator for about a half a second to a second max, even if this allows a competitor overtaking You then. You'll probably avoid getting a time penalty. It works most of the times because the system realizes You've not gained a time advantage by going off the track.

Do this more when You go off track on Your own accord. I've noticed some times when a competitor pushes me off the track, I don't get a time penalty as it's evident it was a punt.

This technique won't work for cutting across pit entry or exit line for obvious reasons.

I feel like this week is preparing me for DR A, I’ve been stating in the back 3 or 4 all week, at the top of B and it’s been fun, really close racing at RBR, the odd plum you come across but mostly the clean drivers are sticking together 😁

All I need is a track where I can put a real competitive time in for next week and I might get to A and (would be a first) stay there 😆

Have a good Sunday all

Happy new year y’all. It’s been a while since I was here. In fact I’m 14 pages behind in threads. 🤔

I haven’t been doing much on GT7 because I hurt my arm in a biking crash a couple months ago. Driving on the rig would cause it to hurt. I’ve just spent a couple days retuning the feel of my wheel to not hurt my arm and, you know what? It’s better than ever. I went against the conventional setup wisdom and did something left field and it’s magic. 😁. I may do a video on this at some point but it is very specific to my gear so may not work for you.

Any way. I did four races with the karts. Love karts. I set my wheel rotation to 660 degrees. That allows a stable driving style while still being quick enough to catch slides.

First race I started near the back but worked may way to p2 when I got taken out by a slide from another kart. Finished 7th.

Next race, on the grid, in releasing the brake the car just stayed stuck on the grid. It took, releasing the throttle and starting over to get it going again. I later tested this and there is a bug in the system. It may be related to driving in auto. With karts I switch to auto so I don’t lose time with missed shifts. Well if the car is on the grid and the rpm are a 100% the kart will not launch. If the rpm are less then 100% then it will launch. That may explain why every race I saw a kart get stuck on the grid.

Anyway with that bad start I ended near the back. The third race I crashed out twice - my fault on those.

The last race, I improved my QT, started third and has a good race. Got to first, lost it and then last lap at the hairpin, I slingshotted from second to first to get the win. That was a glorious race.

I’m not ready for B and C races yet but hopefully I’ll be able to do some more As over the coming weeks and get back into it.

Jesus Christ!

I thought getting to C and S would get me some good racing.

If anything the idiots in C are worse than the guys in D. I’ve had 8 C races now starting P4-P2 and have finished top 5 in 3 of them as I’ve just be spun, shunted and driven into on ridiculous lines a minimum of once and most times at least twice.

I know it’s just a game so I’m not getting too annoyed (well after the race, during the race I wouldn’t want my kids in the room listening to the language 😂).

Is there anything I can do to mitigate this? I’m we don’t have any mirrors so I can’t even see were these morons are? How do you guys avoid them?
