I turn 41 in Feb but have been working 10 ~ 12 hour days for the past 7 weeks and it is starting to catch up to me - combined with my inability to sleep longer than 5 hours,

@TechnoIsLove mate, I did 8 years of 16 hours a day…..

Honestly mate, I know there is stuff on, I know racing is fun but do not burn out and I mean this honestly, don’t over push it at work thinking more times makes better outputs that’s rarely true and also don’t push here if it’s not stress relieving.

Take a day off Monday and just say screw it for one day, you’ll be much better on Tuesday than a knackered Monday.

I'm racing a lot this week for a distraction - my dad took a turn for the worse on new year's eve (dementia for 10 years) and he's now on the syringe driver - still hanging on somehow, but it must just be a matter of hours now

I think the racing gods have taken pity on my today, smashed my QT on race C, put myself up to a decent standing in my leaderboard and nicked a win,

I am going to enter the manu, normally not bothering but this increased race length is growing on me.

@Barney Da Dog sorry to hear about your Dad and thoughts from here 👊

How old is 'too old'? 😯

I'm 53... well 53 and a half 😂

I think today I had some A+ drivers who were 5 and a half - they certainly behaved like it.

I may post a video later with the names removed to see what others think of the tactics. E.g, weaving frantically left and right on the straights, push to pass in the corners, run off on the exits etc - utterly embarrassing for A+, in fact it should be embarrassing at any level

Having said that, their antics ahead got me another couple of wins - so maybe I shouldn't complain 🤔

I’ve had a nightmare tonight!

This week got myself all the way up from low C to bordering D and then I as bored of race C so did 10/11 races on race B in DR C SR S and only finished two of the them properly (P3 and P5). All the others I got shunted into the sand a minimum of twice and ended up coasting to the end.

Back down bordering D again now 😂😂 back to race C to grind it back up I guess.

Also we don’t know each other that well but just wanted to say keep your chin up and thoughts are with you as I lost my dad in 2019 so I know how tough it is when they’re not in good shape

Had a few races at willow today, can’t nail a time for the life of me there this week, I did fair a little better in the G70 and Huracan, mainly because when I caught the sand last corner the weight of those kept me in the race 😂

Mainly starting 14th and picking up 4-6 places per race, that’ll do
 
So I’ve had a fairly good week at willow, firstly because I really enjoy the track and how you need to drive it, secondly I’ve only had a few people lean on me in the sweaty way but not race/sand castle way so have mostly been top 1-10 through the week in mixed A/A+ lobbies with mixed A/B lobbies starting to populate.

My time is not quite barneys, and I’m tempted to have a go beating him tomorrow :) but it’s 150ish so I’m typically starting at the sharp end or behind some of the ex tour drivers.

I’ve enjoyed quite a few of my races this week but taking my second win on a Saturday is always nice

And the data tells me this is a good week for me, still on the recovery path but it’s up and to the right which is all I can ask

...aaaaand, got back to A+ (for a short time I'd think) It's quite amazing the progress you can make on a track that suits, choosing the meta, and not actually racing too hard. I've been letting cars pass me and picking up places here and there due errors

Really trick that particular race you were running away and I was sort of crowded out.

I love this race, and honestly your curve traces just like mine, I’m 20k back though!

Similar - I have a friend who is in his final days and I use GT to not think about life for a while. My condolences.

When Racing in GT7 this morning, the C lobbies were good for once. Had a very solid and fun Daily Race C at Tokyo. Managed to win this with a solid 10 lap RM then swtich to 1 lap RH strategy as @Tidgney recommended and it worked. Then was chasing the P1 guy, a french driver for at least 4-5 laps, but he managed to slow down enough for me to catch him in the F-type Jag and then pass him, then we battled and he spun out on the pit hairpin corner on lap 8, so I used this opportunity to run. Managed a steady gap then pitted on lap 10 as the racer chasing me overtook me in the pit lane, why take a risky manouver, I dunno. He got a 3sec penalty, not sure why he did that, was a gamble that got him pit stuck.

Then exited in 2nd place and chased the P1 and luckily he had not pitted so he had to do so last lap and I kept it together to Finish strong and win the Race!

Only annoyance post race was, I could not save the replay as the Game and my PS5 were moaning over the storage for replays, which is very annoying when you wanna show a good race and win! All i got are these shots! Tedious bad feature of GT.

Gives me drive now to now focus on the GTWS Manu cup coem wednesday! LFG!

How do you import such shots as mine seem very small in the forum

Been a rollercoaster week!! 😂😂

Had a good run of no accidents but then it’s been an absolute bloodbath of destruction derby’s since Friday and I’ve just dropped like a stone from the cusp of B down to D 😞😂😂😂😂

Tried to get my race B into the 1.18s today, sadly wasn’t to be but did hit a 1.19.2xx (sorry @bone_tone 😁) but I can see the appeal of willow, one wrong move and your fed to the banthas 😂

Quite enjoyed race C, managed a win and a time which started me top 6 so you can’t ask for more than that, I do enjoy anything Tokyo so let’s have more of that. I lost about a quarter of my DR this week whilst playing in the sand, so one more race at Tokyo tomorrow early and maybe another win 😁

Next week for sure I stick with one track all week, Catalunya on mediums will be my focal point,

Tokyo at night has been pretty bloody cool to be fair!!!!! Really enjoyed it! Eveything apart from getting wrecked at the first corner 6 races in a row 😂😂😂


The sand has been brutal this week hasn’t it!!!!

Yeah I have to say I need something like spa, Catalunya, interlagos gr3 to bring me back to reality 😁 and the odd peach of a race A wouldn’t go amiss either!

LOL - took me all week to get a sub 1.20 time, and thought I had you beat, then you went faster!

Couldn't reply, as I said, as I had my annual 'sticky brake' problem, now resolved. Hopefully another 12 months before it needs attention again 🤞
 
Had a good week Willow and sounds like I wasn’t the only one!

Won several races in B/S lobbies, and had lots of podiums and top 5s.

But most importantly, lots of clean, close, racing. Was in one lobby where all 16 cars were within 1.1 seconds of P1!

More evidence for my thesis that B lobbies are much more competitive than they used to be.

At the upper end they always have been.

Flip your hypothesis to “I’m driving better, more thinking and faster” and that’s probably what you are seeing.

Ignore the letters, trust decisions and pace mate

Can't you just click the image, grab a corner and size it down when you drop it in so more than one fits per line?

Completely disenchanted with racing this week, not sure why. Did a couple laps here and there since it looks like there's fun to be had, but I ain't feelin' it. 🤣

If you have the ps app you can download your captures, not sure how mine look but that’s how I do it, I always wonder how @ZEE does his, I like them just planted there like that 😁

To answer both y'all questions I use neither the PS app or capture thumbnail method. When I am watching back replays in GT7, I use the capture screenshot button on the controller (PS button), obviously tweaking the photo mode picture first! Then I can tweak the resolution in the settings of the PS5 to capture the detail of whatever I am photographing. Then when I come here onto GTPlanet I attach the files to the post or if you want to space save, then use a site like Imgur to host the pictures and link them. I hope that answers your guys queries!

Had a great morning at Willow Springs.

6 races, only 1 resulting in losing DR after I went off track on the final corner before the finish.

Also as a mid B driver manage to beat a few A racers (don't care that it was because they all managed to go off road) so have had a decent DR boost.
