Seems like this weeks daily race C is my thing. I’ve managed to clock in a 1:54,420 in the Lambo and as the week went on I finally promoted my driver ranking to A.

I've gone the opposite way - B to C 😂

18 races in total, finished last in every race but one, where I finished 11th out of 12.....

I'm not sure what I'm not getting on with, whether it's the car or the track - having said that, I have been rammed off in about 50% of the races I entered 🤨

I think it's my usual problem, I've been given a Gr4 car, when everyone else has a Gr3....😄

Was going to offer some advice….. I’m not.

I admire your patience! After about 3 horrible races I stay away from the ps5 for 1 or 2 days before I try again. This week I only got severely shoved around in 1 out of 8 races. That's a statistic I can live with.

Yas Marina is a nice circuit to race on. I'm not as close to the top guys as on some other circuits, but I like the wideness. You can take different lines that still work out. And it rewards consistency, as in trying to get less penalties than your fellow drivers.
 
Got in some qualifying for Yas Marina on my main account today.

Got a 1:55.01 with an OPT of 1:54.5

First race I was going well after starting 5th, until I crossed the line on pit exit. Few more smaller penalties sent me back to 9th but I got myself to cross the line in 8th, but the car in 7th copped a 1 minute penalty so moved up to 7th so got the DR increase.

2nd race started 9th and was consistent as hell. No penalties at all and got 6th with a bit of defending the 2nd half of the final lap. They got me around the long left turn, but I got a much better run into the 90⁰ right turn before the back to back ones under the bridge/building to get my position back and hold on.

So the only 2 races I did today resulted in DR increases which for some reason isn't showing.

I have endless patience!

This track obviously doesn't suit my slow but steady style - the tracks I do best on usually are Brands, Mount Panorama, and Suzuka. I got up into B in the Gr2s at Suzuka last week, and managed to keep going up once I'd got there.

It's been all downhill this week though! Managed a better first race at C, so I've found my level again 🙂


Edit: update from today, 2 races P8 to P6, and then P8 to P3......

Last race of the week, cracker against DR A types, including our very own @newmedia_dev on the alt account,

First two laps it’s slipping away from me, I really get caught between 3rd and 4th in certain corners, but the last 3 laps it came alive for me ended very close, great combo, wasn’t sure it would last week but it’s been super challenging and superb racing, some wins too along the way

 
Had a quali time of 1:53:3 as DR C at Yas Marina. Felt like more than enough, but had a lobby with most people in front of me well into the 54's. Started P8 in this mixed B/C/D lobby.

Finished P2 because others were failing More than I did. Happy that I finished in front of a lot of guys that could be quicker than me on paper.

At the end of the race I was P3, closing down on P2. P4 and down were 3 seconds away. I was just trying to follow as close as possible and try to line up a good move. Didn't work out yet, until het got a penalty. Just before the penalty line in the last lap I was right at his bumper and he started brakechecking me. Then he ghosted due to the penalty so I could overtake. After that I saw him tumbling further down the order in the group behind, and he got called out dirty by one of them. Too bad throwing a sure podium away buddy.

I really like race C this week. Do you guys think it is karts on Tsukuba next week? I want to race there but I hate the karts.

Great race and that was a good race, I’d been going from the back all afternoon but your Pace was fire!

Tried this one for the first time today, was a bit worried about my poor QT, 5 or 6 seconds adrift of you guys!

Fortunately, at my level, I was P7 on the grid, had an uneventful race and finished P3 😀

You missed a good week bud, such a strange combo ppl lose it all over the place,

I have to say, I’ve scraped through the weekend and can’t wait to get to Monday 😁
 
I tried out all the Daily Races, but succeded in Daily Race A and improve my DR rating somewhat with the 400Z! Yas marina's penalties were too brutal even though I felt I wasn't hitting the track limits but the game punished me otherwise. God dammit PD, first you turn down the track limits, so ppl abuse them, then turn them back up to 11!

Yes, I wasn't sure about it, because it's not a track I usually get on with!

The guy that won ran away with it - his fastest lap was 4 seconds faster than mine, but at least I got a good podium, plus I was 4 seconds ahead if P4.....
 
Had a decent week at Fuji in B/S lobbies. Even set a QT 2 seconds off the fastest time in the world in a non-meta car and in cockpit view. But the lobbies were competitive enough that I was still starting mid-pack (just more evidence for my thesis that B lobbies have been getting tougher in the last year or so).

My 12 year old did well in C/S lobbies at Yas Marina, but my god the track limit penalties there are ridiculous (and random)! He was quick in his karting league this week too. Nice when Sims and real racing complement each other.

Hope everyone else had good races this week!
 
watching Sparks on the daily races this morning.

A - is Deep Forest with GR.4 - I've never raced deep forest so would be nice to try this out
B - is RBR with Gr. 3 - I usually enjoy race B but last 2 weeks at Fuji an Interlagos have been a punt fest for me so fingers crossed RBR is better
C - is Tsukuba with a choice of 2 cars that you have to tune - I have zero idea on tuning so will prob skip this

What's everyone this week?
 
Damn I hate weeks when you have the choice of two 😁

If RBR is full of new 911s I’ll be planting myself there, but DF is enticing, just let it be full of Citroen and then the decision is made for me
 
Here's my best lap and tune so far for the new Race C.

From what I can tell both cars are the same once tuned and luckily no engine swap seems to be best. All driving aides except traction control are off so I will need some practice to get a competitive lap by the end but for now I think the tune is mostly as good as I can get. The top few are running less rear ride height which to bee hurts acceleration too much and less rear downforce which to me hurts the last turn too much but my tune is a bit less Top speed. I think for the most part it will come down to personal preference but it will probably still be worth checking the top tunes via the data logger as times improve .

I dont mind Daily race B as I was doing some practicing on Sunday for it. It will be a punt fest because many lower lobby drivers dont know how to take turn 1 on rolling race starts lol. As for the Gr.4, plz god no more Citreon fest, PD can be a bit more bloody creative with car BOP choices as that car is so bloody annoying and dry for me now.

Race C might be intresting, tuning you say, 2 cars you say, hmmm......scooby time!!!

Hmm I don't seem to have the cars for race C, and you cannot rent then? Then I can't partake in this interesting combination. That's a shame. It's my own fault for selling some of my cars of course.

If you haven't already done so, spend an hour on My First Gran Turismo and you'll get a Sprinter Trueno for free. On 0.0 miles though, so you may not want to sully it :D
 
Race B is a cracker but unfortunately the Circus has arrived and set up its Big Top in the paddock and a few clowns 🤡 are sneaking onto the track. A solid Q time is essential to avoid their show 🕺
