Here's this weeks guide!

I did send feedback as soon as I could about buying the car for C I haven't checked the entire thread but it should be purchasable from 1am CET. The tuning is actually not to bad being able to see good starter setups with data logger. I accidently entered the first race of the day with 199bhp as I thought it was 200 not 226 haha! I do feel like it should be daily race B though, as we don't have a race with strategy this week.

As always thank you 🙏🏻. Always helps to know where I can improve from your brilliant advice. 🤠

Penalties!!!
How the hell did I receive this penalty? I had no where to go 😂🤣😂🤣👊🏻

Would you really like the answer?
You got penalized because the contact was 100% your fault. It was avoidable, it was obviously going to happen, and you did absolutely NOTHING to prevent it from happening.

Yes their rejoin was garbage no that doesn't make a single lick of difference. You had an entire straight section to simply NOT HIT that car and instead you chose to hit them.

I was going to moan about not having the car for Race C - I was sure I did (as we had that tuned race at Suzuka 2 years?? ago) but when I went to join a race there was no car available...

I checked my garage, and I have three of them! Just won't show as available until you do the wide-body and get the weight to 810kg.

I've not raced yet, but will likely give it a go when my week off starts..

Edit/ tried Race B and it was carnage, but at least the penalties seem less strict.

Interesting that they've kept Championship track limits even for this experimental Daily C.

I'd half-assumed it was a Yas Marina-specific bandaid last week but maybe it's here to stay for a while?

You must be watching a different video!! 😂
To be fair maybe you are right but I was expecting him to ghost 👻 but it was also so so quick in VR 😳

Someone mentioned the D-Tuned, but it doesn’t have a widebody option. Weird to have it tick all the other boxes if it can’t be used.

You are the WRX yes? The one that drives straight into the Beetle that you could clearly see was going to rejoin the track and yet you still held the accelerator AND stayed on the side of the track the Beetle was 100% going to rejoin on?

I'm struggling to understand why you'd "rely" on him ghosting when you could instead either back off or take a different line into the corner. It was 100% telegraphed from the moment he went off track that you two were going to collide unless you did something different :D

Next time don't hit easily avoidable cars lol

This race seems soooo weird when compared to the standard offerings. Feels like they crafted something to get a reaction/litmus test on this race format. If so, the more variables you can take out, the better focused your data is gonna be. Limiting car choices is a great way to do that, I would think.

Then again, maybe I'm overthinking the whole thing.🤣

I only had time to try 1 race this evening so after doing all the messing around getting the car eligable i only had a short time to practice and set a QT. With only a basic setup i managed a 59.3 which had me starting P3.
Anyway, i got a small bump out of turn 1, i dont think it was on purpose, just 1 of those things. Rejoined 16th and had great fun. I think these cars are really well suited to this track, i had a blast just ragging the hell out of it 🤣🤣 Anyway, my race was disappointing place wise but i didnt care, was just about having fun. Here is the video

Will have a bit more time tomorrow evening to play around with my setup but this is what i have used as a starting point

It needs work but it feels very stable, i did try adding toe out front and back to make it a bit more twitchy but it had no noticable effect, will spend more time on it tomorrow 👍

Unfortunately the usual suspects are already complaining about the daily because it's not their Gr.3 comfort zone, which is frankly embarrassing.
I think every single week should have at least one daily race with tuning just to ingrain the idea of it into people's minds. We'd get much nicer dailies from it too!

To be clear, I’m not complaining. All for variety! Just wondering how many will race this, not because of need to tune, but because the car seems difficult to get a hold of (unless I am misunderstanding something).

Not a lot of time tonight so just did a little race b qualy. The Lancer felt good, got it down to a 30.5 but lots of mistakes, optimal of 30.1 felt fairer. Then tried the head gasket eater, felt very similar but instantly at a 30.6, got it down to a 30.1 and an optimal of 29.7.

Its such an odd track, you really need to ride the lightening to be fast but that often results in small errors or penalties.

Anyways, that feels fast enough to racing.

It’s a shame you didn’t show the view with your inputs because it looked someone hit the back of you just prior so you were possibly braking. As you say all happens so fast.

That’s what get you the penalty the fact that someone behind makes you ram him.

It is an insanely niche race though. It requires a special car only available through a rotating "semi-random" used car dealership OR via the paid DLC. It requires being interested in tuning even just a little. Requires upgrades to be competitive at all, and ultimately is on one of the weirdly niche tracks in the game.
Yeah that's called being a Gran Turismo fan and not an Interchangeable GT3 Sim fan. You should have already owned this car considering it's won for free in one of the first menu books, you should know how to tune and upgrade because it's an integral part of every single game in the franchise, and you should know how to drive Tsukuba because it's been in the series since 2004.

Both the Levin and Trueno are in the UCD now as special picks, so there's really no excuse not to get out there and do some racing!

Hey fellas, last weekend at Fuji I think I started to get in touch with last sector. As "always" I was very near to the top till the chicane (+0.224 sec) and losing 6 and a 1/2 tenths from there to the finish line from the ghost I was following (he had a '47.0). So I still suck in that section, but less than usual. Maybe it's due to Gr4. If next time I'll be within 4 tenths loss in last sector I'll finally get some races eventually.
For this week I'm battled between all 3 races. DF in Gr4 is quite fun (especially in the Alfa 155). RBR will be nice to continue to get to know the new 911 and Tsukuba "custom" with ABS off looks damn interesting, but it lacks some laps; 20 was imho the right number. Waiting 15 min or more in race C isn't ideal, especially when DR is off.
I'll be on track already Thursday nyt till Tuesday, so it might be the time to finally give a move to my DR status. 🤔

Hope everyone has an excellent week.

You are right on the pace mate, I had a similar time to you earlier today and starting last in my BS lobbies, but a few tenths off and it’s right up to top6
I’m stuck in no man’s land at the moment 😂😂

I’m too quick for C as keep qualifying pole but not quick enough for B as I’m P8-P12 and haven’t got the skill yet to navigate the traffic 🤦‍♂️

I’ve gone from C to B to C to B so far this week 😂😂😂 I get 3 - 4 P2 and above in C to get to B and then 4-5 bad finishes in B to get back to C. Rinse and repeat 😂😂😂

Going to focus on RBR all week as was close to a 1.30.1XX but span on last corner 🤦‍♂️

Don’t often post full races but this is a cracker of a race from my VR perspective, started pole finished .2 behind P1 and went side by side through the entirety of the last lap.

GT7 | Deep Forest | 🔥 Last Lap

Edit: as a side note I’m not gonna post opinion on here for a while or ever going forwards. Having been a decent but harsh contributor one week a few passionate people show up and don’t understand that the rest of us show up every week and just want to argue about it, that isn’t why I want to share my journey or help others on theirs which in reality is the bread and butter of the dailies and these different experiments aren’t the reality especially with no DR turned on for the vast majority of people.

Glen - I hope you reconsider, I’ve only been a member of the community for a short time but the core community that is here day in day out has made GT7 far a far more enjoyable experience then it could have been and your opinion and advice is a huge part of that, so I for one would very much welcome you continuing!

I know the feeling - I do this every week....🤣
Haha surprised we haven’t crossed paths yet?!!

It’s not even annoying me anymore. Just finding it comical 😂

Mate, that is exactly how my GT7 journey is going! I have just held on to B and have stopped racing so I can do the big race tomorrow in the gt2 league.
It’s a great leveller this game 🥳🤠

I’m not even here for arguing. It doesn’t make sense to then not continue contributing to this part of the community. Doesn’t matter if someone is sharing their feelings about one event, for one day, even when a member(me) contributes and shares to other threads. I continue to enjoy this game and if you’re that passionate about your contributions, various members personal feelings about their own experiences shouldn’t hinder that passion.

Something about RBR...its a fun track. Not a one or two make race either, I've seen lots of different stuff. For those of you who haven't tried it....the Beetle scoots around there pretty well.

Race C brainwave. Is having preset tunes a good idea? Give people the choice. Meaning, have Tune 1 (longer legs, better top end) Tune 2 (handles and brakes well but not quite the hp) and Tune 3(doesn't excel at any any one aspect but is good all around performer) The cars would are be BOPed but offer different strengths.

I've noticed an interesting characteristic of Race C, the no ABS race.

Contact and people being upset at dirty driving is almost non-existent. There hasn't been the flurry of people complaining at other drivers. Accidents are minimized (as far as I have seen). It would appear that fear of catastrophe has people behaving themselves.
