Finally!!!!!!! An actual result!!!! P4 felt like a
Bloody win with the amount of effort it took!!!!

Absolutely buzzing, especially as my A rank was on life support after some rowdy Swede punted me into the first chicane on lap 1 the previous race!!!

Time to lock on and get a podium 😬😬

@brockie yeah that was A, he was at all all day. Just driving like no one else was on the track, never changed his speed or line once. I’ve seen a few of them in A and the A+ guys have just been happy to pile through everyone.

But on the whole it’s been some good racing, although saying that just picked up another P4, should have been P2 as I passed a guy that hit the wall and he just hit me into the grass on the final bend and I lost 2 places

Won’t race this week as I haven’t done enough driving to feel on the pace.

1:46 is definitely there for me, but that first curb lift and bounce is such a timing lottery.

Won’t race this week as I haven’t done enough driving to feel on the pace.

EDIT: sorry to fill this feed up with posts about my races but I’m just over the moon I’ve hit the podium in A and waking my wife up to tell her “I did good on my little game” isn’t going to go down too well 🤷‍♂️ so anyways! Here it is, I’ve been lucky with a few drowned lobbies and managed to start in the top 5 and finally got on the podium, had P2 but P1 and I screws up the final COD and came 3rd and 4th so if I had nailed that I could have got a P1 and I would deffo have woken the wife up!

Just this idiot who keeps taking me two wide into the CoD and walling me so I’m doing the high speed ring TT instead, try again tomorrow

I can but it’s 2 things, getting the turn in bounce on T1 and then just under breaking. Weird but true.

When I watch my traces back it’s purely exit speed which is earlier throttle or more coast no magic

Back in my younger days, on GT5 Prologue, I distinctly remember racing online for 6 hours straight. 8pm - 2am. I was using a Corvette of some sort and by 12am the growl of the engine was embedded in my head which was pounding. Took some paracetamol and jumped straight back on for another 2 hours!

Right. I'm off to do some qually laps in the Atenza. I'll know when I've done the lap and I'm not there yet.

Edit: @brockie 1:47.866 now. I felt it was a scruffy lap too.

Well I have to say it’s improved, just can’t put the racing down this week, couple of DR increases saving me from the drop and it’s looking brighter again 😁

That’s how it works bud now, wins are hard to come by and it’s the quality of the racing, the points don’t move much but it’s familiarity with the lobby and consistency that’s the key ;)
 
Just had 2 really terrible races. Got swamped by lunatics both races. Worst thing was some of the carnage made me look like a dirty racer.

Finished 11th then dead last.

Actually... you don't. The third-party sites all scrape gran-turismo.com. You can dig it out yourself with only a little effort.

If you want to estimate it, B starts at 10,000 and goes up to 29,999 - a range of 19,999. The bar there is just a bit less than 30% complete, so it's about (19,999*0.3)+10,000, or about 16,000.

Using your method, if I've done the maths right, my DR is now 17.164.

Would nice if the game showed points gained/lost after each race.

Edit: After 4-5 races (including 1 absolute stinker) DR is now 18929 and my DS bar is full again.

@brockie mate - remember I posted before saying I had a dirty A+ driver that rammed me in two races! It was the same guy! He’s a proper ********! So dirty for no reason.

Yeah I just checked and he’s got like 55k DR, you’d really like to think people would be clean at that level as they obviously have the car control so anything they do is deliberate.

I’ve tried cutting that curb in T1 so many times but I just end up bouncing around! I’ve checked the data logger and I’m over half a second down in sector 1 so that’s where most of my loss is, I just haven’t got it in me this week to keep resting every 20 seconds if I don’t get at1 right 🤢 I didn’t that at gardens and yas and nearly sent myself insane!

Finding the joy in competing for P8 has been an unexpected pleasure of being in these faster lobbies!!! Usually I’m fuming I’ve messed my race up when I’m outside of podium but it’s a real struggle start to finish now just to get a top half! Loving it!

I'd like a 46 but chances are slim to none.

Getting pretty intense out there. Must say the match making system is very good. Lose some places and there's very little chance of making any significant ground back up.

Having a break now, got some gardening to do. Hope you stay safe!
 
Finally a 47.770….. 😁

No sooner do I get my act together someone goes and puts me back again 😁

Back to B, got a win but it felt meh, me and this guy with a 47.5 QT, rest were 48.3 + so me and him went at it nice and cleanly for 5 laps, I hit the wall first lap and he scarpered 2 secs on, he hit the wall lap 3 and I scarpered down the road 2secs 😁

Was bloody close in the end

Need to get a little bit better and consolidate A, but last few days those buggers have been a little dirty

Edit. And another banger against a rapid cayman, be back in A shortly fighting for scraps at the back 🤣

Got a horrible suspicion it might be a one-make in the new update Race Mod Camaro. Please no.

Race A has been pretty good recently, really enjoying the different character/feel of the cars they're chosing. The 911 this week is fun to drive, as was the NSX last week.

Spoiled only by the (fast) drivers who seem to be doing the races every day all day and who can't handle getting ovettaken, even when as a result of their own errors. And why is it these kinda guys always have their own liveried-up garage cars, while most normal people use rentals?

Your final question sounds like something you’ve completely made up your in mind, there’s no recurring theme like the one you describe. I know plenty fine people in garage cars and clowns in rentals, so yeah.

Was watching some digit vids and him saying to rev right through it and slam the accelerator on each corner, I guess it worked

I watched the WR ghost and noticed they changed gear just before the limiter kicks in too. They do short-shift slightly out of T1. I've never been able to carry as much speed through that section - must have tried 100 times. That's where I lose the majority of time.

I livery 99% of my cars, typically not the road cars but I own them all! And have zero probs being overtaken I mean that’s what racing!

Point me to where I said ALL people with custom liveries were clowns. You can't, cos I didn't. No, I said most of the clowns in my recent races (this week's and last week's race As) were guys using custom liveries starting at or near the front.
Not really that hard to understand...

Also, having done race A quite a bit this week, both as a high B DR and A DR (the former in mostly B lobbies with a smattering of As, the latter, strangely, usually all-A with no Bs at all) I can safely say that as far as race A goes, the A lobbies are much, much dirtier. I assume they're very low A, as that's where I'm at. Is it because people are desperate to not get relegated? No idea, but it's certainly night and day as far as this race goes. Maybe something to do with it being Saturday too?
(All anecdotal, of course, as are most of the 'facts' 99% of the opinions here are based on. Just stating the obvious before the inevitable 'well, actually...')

Re the second part of my post; that wasn't specifically for you of course (cos it's not all about you), it was just a general observation-type comment, which is what 90% or more of what this forum appears to be, and you're more than welcome to ignore it, as I do with most of the 'this happened in my race today/just now' posts here, including yours. So no need to state the obvious.

Lost my touch at the CoD last night. Tried to do another few today and every lap was either into the wall in some way or just too slow to be competitive. Both races started in the top 5 and both races finished 11th or lower.

Gonna just call it for the week and start new Monday.

It happens occasionally. It'll probably come back to you next time.

I hit the wall at the COD in my first two laps of my first 2 races today. I felt a right prat. 😂
