Good luck, keep us updated with how it goes! Hopefully you’ll be faster and having an even more fun in no time!!!

I tried with the TCS and it made it far more stable but I’ve come to the realisation that im just not enjoying the actually racing, regardless of where I’m starting as I’ve started between P3 and P15 and haven’t enjoyed any of the races. As much as I want to improve I also have to realise it’s a game and if I’m not enjoying it, I don’t have to play it 😂🤷‍♂️ may have a blast at C later in the week.

Thanks - I think this is the push I needed to switch from B to C

Yep some weeks are just meh mate, have fun over there 😁

I personally never raced in tracks/combos that were totally new to me, but I've always "practiced" a lot those combos thinking at the future. I avoided some tracks (DT, Fuji and Laguna Seca f.i.) like the pest, but sooner or later I'll be racing there also.
Especially lately, due the fact that I take the wheel just during weekends starting Friday nyt, when basically everyone is already dialled since a while; I'm quite reluctant to race if I'm not sure to be in the first 3 rows at the start at least.

@bone_tone
I never used negative BB in any car as far I remember. Yep, most probably the driving style should have something do with it somehow. 🤣

Now for some qually laps in it!

Hit 1:.25.2. Noticed the Subaru has taken the world record, it's so tricky through the first 3 turns but flies through the rest. Hit 1.25.3 in that.

Edit: couldn't resist another go in the Subaru and down to a 1:24.873 qually lap. Well happy with that.

First off I am aware I have been an absolute whinge bag the last few days    Pulled myself together now, so apologies for being a negative nelly!!!!! I think I have also become too attached to my new A status and it's stressing me out trying to keep it. going to race this evening and drop down to B just to take that added noise away!
Strange how we vary isn't it, -2 has proved quicker for me.....

Not likely - think I'm one more race away from C!

Edit: Temporary reprieve 😁

Lovely mate!!! love to see it, how are you enjoying Brands Hatch?
To me it sounds like you're coming down with a touch of GT7 burnout. I'm going to prescribe you a week or two break.

You'll be back refreshed before you know it!
1000% I've got a bit of an obsessive personality and it had definitely become all consuming for me. Having a break last night was good (although I did stick a few laps into Kyoto and enjoyed it way more)

Unfortunately everything is new to me at the moment, but I feel like I should start coming across repeat tracks soon which will be nice.

Love that mate, shame you're going to have to do it all again now in the Subaru :lol::lol:

How long did it take you? you're a better man than me, I wouldn't even know where to start. Well worth the effort though as it looks amazing!!!!

Great time as well, that must have you in the top 1,000 and at the front of the grid??? Going to be a good DR week.

You were beginning to sound like I did on Sunday evening 😂

Was in the paint shop for just..... like.....3 hours! To my horror there was no pre made Total logo to put on the Ferrari in game so had to upload one via pc (which can be such a faff around)

Grrrr about having to do one for the Subaru although not sure I'd take that car into a race it's very tail-happy without TCS, so much short shifting necessary.

Thanks for your kind words. Hopefully see you in some DR B races at some point.

It's an interesting week for me, having come back from the stag do and then going in to a full on week at work my motivation to race/drive just isn't there at the moment. Hopefully by the weekend my mojo will return.

Good luck out there peeps

Being tired from work I decided to only do some Yamagiwa races from the back of the field, without any expectations.

Race 1: P15 start. Picked up pieces as people misjudge the various chicanes / ss-es. I had fun trying to navigate the field. Encountered one dirty driver who was blocking everyone. Finished P8, despite losing 20 seconds due to 2 crashes.

Race 2: P16 start. Can't remember all the details, apart from the fact I was consciously trying to save my left front tire a bit. Finished P6. This was the only race I didn't crash or go off track.

Race 3: P15 start. Decided to try to be somewhat of a tire whisperer. In lap 6 I was driving P9, at the end of a big gaggle of cars and not too far from the leader (who we were catching). Some cars dove into the pits at lap 6, most at lap 7. I still had a tiny bit of tire life left so I decided to try to gamble and drive 8 laps in the first stint. I couldn't overcut anybody because of the worn tires, but I came out of the pits at exactly the same spot: P9, 0.5 seconds behind everyone with 1 or 2 laps fresher tires now.

I was making my way through the pack, but I lost my concentration after 3 back to back races. Running in P5, just behind P4 and P3 who I was catching, I misjudged my braking point at turn 1 and couldn't avoid hitting P3. Got a 3 second penalty for that. P3 lost 1 position but not too much time. I stayed behind him for almost a lap, but when I tried to overtake he pushed me off in retaliation. Following that, I entered the start/finish straight where I encountered a driver who I saw before was quite dirty, and he punted me into the pits. This was at the start of lap 13 and I just decided to stay into the pits for the last 2 laps. So bit of a bummer at the end, but the rest of the racing was very rewarding to do!

I actually enjoy this reverse layout, although I think I like the normal one even more. I was constantly messing up the sector 2 chicane in between the hills. I think I can cut the left hander way more in order to be quicker on the gas at the right hander. Let's try this tomorrow or Friday.

haha it definitely gets top you doesnt it!!!!! Jeez 3 hours is some dedication, well worth it tho!

Well i actually hope I see you in some A lobbies :) - also if i see you in race B this week i won't even be close enough to catch a glimse of the livery!!!!

Be good to see you out there lighting up the leaderboard with some times!!!!
It's one of the tracks I really enjoy - it suits my slow but steady driving style.

I just watch everybody else go off, and pick up places accordingly (provided I don't get taken out myself of course!).
haha i think you may have just highlighted why I'm struggling, I'm ultra aggressive with the touch of an elephant so your finesse is definitely working! I'm one of the guys you will have been watching

Great report mate - with the minimal gap between races 3 back to back is just like doing a 90 min 45 lap endurance race, no wonder you were tired by the end!!!!!

I'm nowhere near DR A though. 48% through B last time I checked. Although to be fair I've no idea how long it actually takes to progress through the ranks. I know I dropped 6% after the 3 dirty races and the rage quit.

Planning to race after work today so I'll see how I stack up afterwards.

Great time mate, I can’t get the 296 to do anything around Brands, can’t get anywhere near a low 25.

Think I’ll spend the rest of week/weekend trying the old 911/458 Ferrari.

It’s becoming a slog to be honest, same silly moves - this morning I tried giving this guy space on the straight up the hill to the right and c…. still put me in the sand, fighting for 11th, 😂

I get it mate. It's not racing it can become merely crash avoidance.

I got beat by the old 458 in the race I finished 3rd in on Monday. They had "I am dirty" in big letters on the side of the car. (Presumably a joke as they passed me cleanly at least)

So annoying, people like that are really making me question if I just bite the bullet and find a cleaner sim that penalizes these idiots. What’s the point in you putting your time and effort in to quali and a game to have an idiot like that just ruin it.

I had a French guy in race C, was so erratic, I could have pushed to pass 7 or 8 times over 6 laps but I stayed behind, super clean, over braking cos he had some funky lines and braking, he gets a penalty, I pass and he punts me off next corner!

Tried race B as I’m back down to B and went from P3 to P2 on lap 1, start lap 2 and P3 uses me to brake on turn 1 and pushes me into the gravel. 2nd rage quit in a row!

So frustrating as we are all putting in so much effort to improve our racing and times and race craft for these constant idiots to just ruin in!!

Any, good news is, after 3 rage quits in a row!!!! im back in B, so if I race again I will see you guys!!!!!

Just jumped on for a couple. I need to defend the inside line more aggressively. People just can't resist a risky pass and when the inevitable happens I'm the one into the wall or gravel.

Also need to find a way to keep my concentration after a tangle.

Starting from pole in both - Into the gravel on race 1, then spun out trying to catch up with the Field, finished 10th. Race 2 was slightly better, finished 6th after getting a needless penalty for cutting one of the right handers.

Yeah it is just turning out to be a pony week, I’m trying not to be too negative about it, Brands for all the romance and it being a home track etc just doesn’t suit gr3 cars, it’s more suited to smaller cars and less powered cars but even then the push up in the inside is deadly.

I tried the ‘17 RSR and it’s a better drive, just doesn’t keep up 😁 I’ll try the 458 in the morning.

I’m not going to say I’m done this week because it is racing and I’m just going to have to endure this week and hope next week is better, Spa or Sardegna A would be great, Suzuka or laguna.

Truth is I don’t have the pace this week 😁

Mate fair play sticking with brands hatch all week, I gave it another go in B, started P1 and finished P3 and just didn’t enjoy any second of the race 🤷‍♂️

I saw Luc Nodaro say to never pass someone on the outside unless you know them and trust them to be clean otherwise it will end in tears. So true isn’t it! Especially there where there just isn’t enough space for 2!

😂😂 it’s nigh on impossible not to lose focus after some dirty driving tho isn’t it!!!

Remember when I said try not to rage quit?? 4 for me this evening 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

Good luck tonight! I had a couple of races at C with a win and a podium but damn 25/26 mins of racing is a long time!!!

As I said to Nick, fair play sticking at it. I just can’t enjoy any aspect of it, I don’t like these tracks where it’s one tiny mistake and you’re a gonna like the one we had in the desert a month or so ago, if it was mega clean then it would be ok but getting your race ruined because of a nudge from an idiot just ruins it for me!!

Yeah Sardenga would be nice, was one of my first tracks so would love another blast at it!!!

Frustrating for this week to be such a downer after last week!

Brands Hatch 🐣
Like others I have really struggled with these powerful beasts on this beauty of a track but have only enjoyed trying to get a faster Q time.
Sometimes a car with less power can enhance a track and IMHO this is such a track.
I won’t race this 1 anymore as it’s beyond me and my low DR B skill set plus you can only get punted off so many times!
Hopefully back to full racing next week.
As an aside the High Speed TT is a real hoot 🦉 if you’re looking for an escape 🕺🤠

Hmm. I know Road Atlanta well but not keen on longer races. Haven't driven the others iirc.
I’ve raced B at the start of this year, was a fun/fast track! I MF I remember correctly the M6 was the meta as well so could be a fun week. Think I will park myself there!

Shame the races really don’t float my boat this week! I’ve just put the wife and kids on a flight to Australia for a month and I’ve got a 4 day weekend so could have been perfect for along sessions!!!

Have a go at race C in the Suzuki Swift - it’s a lot of fun as the tyre wear is minimal compared to other cars (I can’t get on with the Citroen in vr at all). Watch Cyrus’ anti-meta video first as it’s really helpful. May not be the fastest in QT but it’s excellent in the race once you get to grips with the drivetrain (and always good to try new things).

Hopefully A has a decent car choice, that looks like my only option.
I've grown to like Maggiore in the proper direction but, as with almost every other reverse course, the backwards version is horrid.
Don't get on with Atlanta sector 1 at all so no point racing there.

I actually missed the reverse part of B, I’m out unless race A is so bad that it’s that or nothing 😬

Might be a week to purchase rennsport or pmr for some trophies
