I've kind of fallen in love with Race C again thanks to 4C  :D

Many top drivers who stream online on YT had said the 4C is a very good race car as the tyre wear is superior to that even of Citroen's. This car I don't think is even close to the Citroen when it comes to setting a fast qualy lap so this is just a good race car, not a qualy one.

I was skeptical in trying this car as the A+ drivers who stream that this car is dodgy over kerbs. After entering four races with this where I finished in top 5 in each, I can say this car handles kerbs better than Suzuki Swift Gr.4 which TyrannoCyrusRex in his anti meta vid said it was. I feel the 4C excels in certain areas over the Citroen such as it's more agile especially through the 2 chicanes making it very controllable & also through the long right hander before going uphill apart from the last long right hander.

Citroen is overall still superior to the 4C when it comes to traction, acceleration & top end speed. The 4C also because is lighter, it's comparitively easier to lose control but if You get to grips with this car, it can be used to Your advantage.

Because the 4C is more lively as compared to the stiffness of the Citroen, I'm enjoying the 4C just for the sake of racing. I may not be able to win with this car but it's really enjoyable & can keep up with the Citroens.

P.S. - Because of better tyre wear, I was able to make the tyres last till end of lap 8 (quite good as I'm a DS4 user) before making a pitstop which all Citroen players were making on lap 7. The 4C felt even more competitive as the fuel load got lighter & with fresher tyres that wore lesser still, I always enjoyed the second half of the race as the 4C felt even much stronger.

Unfortunately I've not been able to get to race since Thursday for one reason or another. Just catching up with the thread.

@brockie my opinion on your incident is that it was indeed a "careless" move (as you put it). It wasn't dirty as I'm sure your intent wasn't for them to go off but would've felt like it to the other driver. I sure many if not most of the times I've gotten punted off is the result of carelessness/opportunistic/risky driving as opposed to intentional dirtiness.

I feel I'm/we're a bit too passive at times when most others aren't. Yes I want to be competitive but equally I don't want to ruin other people's race - it's 50/50. Others seem to happy with more like 70/30 in favour of competitiveness!

You back in the seat today?

No that’s fair and I think I completely agree that the line between competitiveness and passive driving is the key normally I am not pushing that hard, had another this morning where I’d been 3 tenths behind a BRZ all race, nice and fair, 5th lap on the second to last corner I got a decent run, pulled up and went to the left as the gap was there, he turned in when I was at this corner and he went off,

A couple of them went for me afterwards but I’m like, I’m not dirty and these things happen,

Good car for race
Try make tires in lap 6/7

I pit on lap 8 to have considerably better tyres towards the end of the race with lesser fuel. The last 3 laps the 4C comes alive.

Best thing about 4C is hoe easily we can maneuver the car. It becomes very handy when wanting to make an overtake.

BB on +2 is safe.

That track is such chaos I don’t think there is any corner that it is easy to pass without making contact mate, even the straights are super narrow and too short to actually full get past anyone, think if you’re gonna race there these are just part and parcel of it

Yeah exactly mate, hopefully I can get a load of DR back today and back to starting mid pack where it’s quieter 🤣

Well after my shenanigans fighting mid B for wins earlier, 24.7k and the real races are back, just had a race where I started p3 and p1/2/4 all finished the way they started but within 6tenths, really good fast racing, no mistakes. The ending didn’t tell the story but it was a a great race.

I have to say, gr3 racing at the moment is absolutely amazing, can’t fault it. I know I mentioned earlier but the recents have been totally brilliant with different cars, you could almost have a championship; Viper at Monza, 911 at Brands, WRX at RBR, Audi at Interlagos.

Fabulous racing.

Sounds like you’ve had a great weekend there mate!! 💪💪 great news the racing has come good and you’re having a blast!! Does your love for Gr3 mean if race C is grade 3 next week you’ll venture over 👀👀

Go on the boys!!! Taking up the top positions 💪💪💪

Similar to Brockie I’ve had a good end to the week, settled nicely in race C, just couldn’t get the hang of Brands for love nor money and I gave it a good slog! Seems like I’m a Gr4 specialist at my level, nicked 7 or 8 wins this week and threw 2 or 3 away doing silly things out of boredom (14 laps is long) when I was 5/6 seconds ahead with a few laps to go!

Really need to buckle down and get the skill level to control the grade 3 cars like you boys as jealous of you having the faster racing!!!

Fingers crossed race B is Gr3 on RM’s but probably be Gr4

Was nice to see you mate, and what’s this? You starting 8th finishing 4th tearing up the lobby! Great result mate!
Yes - started P8 in the next one too, but could only get up to 5th.

Best result this week has been a second place - I said at the beginning of the week that Brands was one of my favourite tracks!

Like you, I enjoy the Gr3 cars too.

Noticed I'd done 70 races since getting into GT7 online so called it a day.

Don't think I recall overtaking anyone at Brands unless they had made a mistake or gone off track all week! (Come to think of it I don't recall being overtaken cleanly either. So there's that.)

I've started defending the inside line better. I'm not weaving - just putting my car in an awkward position and making them work for the pass 👿

Here's how my "Sport" stats look now:

I wonder if Race C (Road Atlanta) will be Gr.3 this week? Last week it was Gr.4 in Race C (LM).

I tried a few laps of LM in reverse. We've had this layout before in Gr.3 a few weeks back. Except for the very last sector, the entire LM in reverse is fun. Let's see which class of cars are assigned where.

Sardegna could be a hit or miss depending on which specific car is assigned there.

BTW, last week I didn't race much. On Monday, when I tried Race B & C, I was underwhelmed. So I just took part in 2 or 3 races (race C) per day which is very low as per my usual daily race activity. There have been times when I've played 10 races per day (that even Race C's). This week seems more interesting. Really wish they include specific cars for Gr.4 even so that Gt by Citroen can be omitted. It is a damn well rounded car which allows users to forget other Gr.4 cars which I feel is a pity.

That is such a good win percentage and nearly 70% of races finished in the top 5, you're absolutely dominating these!!!!! Hope to see you out there in B this week!

I feel like race B has the chance to be a great week this week, I enjoyed the reverse before and that section flat into bankey buoy then flat again upto the esses is super fun, agree the last 2 turns coming into the straight can be a bit ugly but actually even T1, 2 and 3 are fun. looking forward to it!

No, race C is too long for me so I’m holding out to see what A is as I really don’t know/like LM reverse, you never know, maybe I’ll have a break this week!

Being a few hours ahead, can you see what A is?

Na they all come out at the same time mate, I'll watch one of the streamers do them this morning and post on here what they are though when they come out.

Hey guys, for the first visit to Kyoto reverse I ended up on a solid '41.1. So I'll be ready for next time. This week seems like a Power pack one for me, with some practice at LM reverse maybe. Waiting basically for next one hoping in good combos, being off duty all week.
Have a good one, everyone.

Race C is Road Atlanta in Gr.3

Not my strong suit but maybe it's the same for others on my level.
Thanks for sharing this.

I had such fun at Kyoto last week! Did 2 races from the back yesterday, and I even had a chance of winning one. That was, up until the point I was trying to overtake two people coming slow out of the chicane, overlooking the car directly behind / already slightly beside me. I steered towards him while his front bumper was alongside my back bumper and around I went.

A lap later I overtook someone on the inside of the last turn, giving him plenty of space on the outside, when suddenly he decided to pit while I was already fully next to him. Instead of realizing he cannot just do this at that moment, he just kept on pushing into me and around I went again . He crashed himself headfirst into the pit barrier and left the lobby. In the replay I saw that his left front tire was dead, that's why I could overtake so easily. Maybe I can upload it later so you can see my shenanigans. I still ended up P5 or P6.

Second race I managed to drive myself to the podium from P14. Consequentially my alt account DR is getting close to my normal account, so driving from the back to the front will become harder ofcourse.

Normally Monday is quali day (and maybe already one quick race) for me, but I have to work today so I will check everything out tomorrow.

Me neither but the track looks like it would be fun so going to give it a good go.

Race A - Sardenga Road Track B - 911 GT3 (996) '01 - 5 laps - SM
Race B - Lago Maggiore Reverse - Gr4 - 4 laps - RM
Race C - Road Track Atlanta - Gr3 - RS/RM - 13 laps

Looks like a fun week across the board, Race B looks a bit short though at 4 laps which is frustrating.

Think I'm going to start in Race b as I know the track and then gravitate to C for a change later in the week

Hopefully DR updates are on Sardegna? I may well just camp out there for the week, it’s a good excuse to pass on LM and the Gt by Citroen

Have a good racing week everyone

I took part in Race C in the GT3 AMG '20. Qualified in 5th & finished in 3rd. Went for a typical RM-RS strat. It's a fun race & could be even more fun as long as all be patient on lap 1.

Race B I will try for sure but in non meta cars as always.

P.S. - Apart from Watkin Glens, Road Atlanta has the worst pit entry. So damn easy to get a 3 second penalty even if You tip toe through there.

This week is a bit of an unknown for me then. Wish Road Atlanta was race A or B as I'm just not into longer races. Don't know the other 2 tracks at all.

I'm off work this week so in theory got plenty of time to "play" (that's if there wasn't a million other things that need doing around the house and garden!)

Swift Sport
Decided to go anti-meta in Race B as the Citroën is horrible in VR. This Swift is an awesome drive and really requires subtle changes to the accelerator but apart from that I have managed a 2:09.194 (presently 411th globally 🌍 😳) and there’s more to come I’m sure. 👌🏻
Have fun 🤩 folks 🥳🤠
