It's definitely fun but draining, I'm enjoying the quali more than the races.

You finishing well in the races? I've not quite got a consistent race pace yet

Looks like we should end up with Gr3 in race B next week so fingers crossed for a fun track

I'm just beginning to learn where to put the car for this, seems like the races have cleaned up the more people have got to grips with the track, but lap 1 if you're mid pack is still a lottery

Such terrible places to pass and doesn't work for either person and the chances of both going off or just losing so much time together makes it such a bad choice.

Did you have any previous with him or was he just being a baby because he messed up and hit the wall and couldn't take you passing him? Really annoys me seeing things like that!

On a plus note, you took that left handed onto the the long straight so smoothly, I can't get that right at all, you flowed through there like a pro!!!!!

The racing has been absolutely fine to be honest, all week in BS lobbies, I’ve started top 5 and gained a few places mostly and had nice DR gains, I’ve even eradicated any pens in the pits! 😁 this morning race was mixed A+, A & B and I finished 9th and got a DR gain but it was a little rough going so let those guys past and they put themselves out a few laps later 😂

Race A is some race I’m finding, super clean but some clumsiness does come in but you knows it not intentional.

I’m going to get more race A in as I just cannot get anywhere improving my 30.4 time, could be just overall knowledge and experience so I’ll see what that looks like come the weekend

TBH I think i'm at least 50% to blame for the "dirty" racing and being pushed off that I experienced as at the beginning I was taking some funky lines and braking points and was generally all over the gaff so can't blame people too much! Pit lane is still my nemesis

How's the lunchtime racing going today

Just had time for a quick 15 mins quali and a race at Sardegna, still can’t beat my QT 🤨 but did have a peach of a race

Put the last lap chase down in the video, he’d just lost a place and was surprisingly clean 😁

That’s some super close and clean racing from the two of you there!!! You’re handling that car really well!!! Doesn’t look easy to drive!!

I’m sticking with my baptism of fire in Gr3. Managed to turn a pole into a P5 finish just now 😂😂

Checked my DR for the first time in a while. Little game of eye spy to see if anyone can guess when I made the switch from Gr4 to Gr3 😂😂😂 (had a slight reprieve when I switched from brands hatch to Kyoto last week otherwise I think I’d be in C now)

Ah mate that’s souls destroying isn’t it, I’m down to about 24.5k myself but slowly moving in the right direction.

I still try for DR improvements as it’s mostly trying for a top 6/7 so generally I’m meeting it and it’s taking away to urge to race too hard, we just need another peach of a week like spa gr3 and we’ll be rolling in A again 🤣

Edit. @newmedia_dev nice mate, this is just one car I can’t seem to get anything else out of no matter what I do but you are killing it there, probably in front of Kowalski and too of my leaderboard again 🙌

Yeah last week at Brands Hatch was pretty rough to drop straight out of A, but I’ve made my peace with the DR loss, if I’m ever actually going to become a decent racer and not just a Gr4 flat track bully then I’m just going to have to stick the with Gr3 until it clicks and if that means dropping down to D then so be it 😂😂😂

Think my A status was artificially earned anyway just by having Gr4 at 3 tracks that suited me back to back!! Didn’t really have the skill set to be an A driver.

But man these Gr3 cars and Atlanta as are track have zero forgiveness in them!

Hopefully next week the Gr3 is a slightly more forgiving track!!

Same mate and the racing is just sooo fierce in A but every time you get there and drop out you just want to be back, so it’ll come back around

You have to tweak your mindset mate a little more, the difference is just minor adjustments to control fidelity. They take more corner speed and need more throttle respect but the same rules apply, lift/brake with anticipation not reaction, wait till you are a bit straighter and that’s it.

Don’t let the speed change the fundamentals you have from Gr4 👍

Corvette is quite good at Road Atlanta. I’m slightly quicker in the Ferrari but way more consistent in the Chevy.
It has great acceleration and top speed but its no so good in the twisty sectors.
Its major flaw is the tyre wear. You cant make more than 6 laps on softs and even saving tyres you will suffer on that 6th lap
(5 laps is the optimal for this car imo)

In the right hands (not mines  ) the Corvette seems a decent choice.

Im sticking with the new 911, what a glorious car to drive!

Thank you mate, I think I’m getting there with the adjustments. Everything just seems to be happening at break neck speed 😂

Been working hard on throttle control and getting up to 80% for a touch then to 100% and it has stopped me spinning out and taken me down half a second. Also watched a replay and took note of each apex speed of the top guys and tried to make sure I’m hitting it.

It’s the racing that I’m struggling with, I don’t have enough control to deal with any knocks or nudges and can’t place the car where I want to. But it will come 💪💪💪

Only entered 2 races so this week (race A) both were good/clean. I've been enjoying doing qually laps so have been at the wheel as much as ever.

@Stringerbell the official TT is worth checking out, Road Atlanta in the MX 5 touring car. You should be quick in it after the GR.3s. (Less intense than racing but still fun and competitive)

Hoping for a better choice of daily races next week.

If you want to slow the speed down mentally, I can give you an advanced motorbike trick/advanced driving trick.

“Raise your vision” which means keep looking as far as you can see. Your mind does the real work not your eyes, keep forcing yourself to look as far down the road as you can.

You’ll be smoother, you’ll gain huge amounts of thinking time and it will slow things down.

As a side note, just because the screen is moving fast sequence the moments:

Brake sequence, turn/coast/settle “because you are looking really far down the road” you can start to think acceleration sequence (am I straight ish, is the car balanced etc)

I won’t bore everyone with advanced motorbike/fast road training techniques but honestly look way down the road not at the corner, your muscles and brain have got it ;)

Ok I think I might give that a whirl, I’m actually enjoying putting in qualifying laps more than I am racing at Atlanta. I dunno if I’m just unlucky but I’m getting 4/5 races ruined by idiots. Stated pole against just now and this stupid Italian tried to go down the inside on T2 where there is zero space and just took us both out!

Thanks mate, great advice!!!! Will try and incorporate in the qualifying. At the moment my eyes are all over the place dealing with idiots in the races

This is good to hear on Race A because the qualifying laps have been a blast. Finally got to run a few last night and it felt like it could make for some good racing. Struggling to catch you on my list so you might be safe, lol.

Come to think of it, we usually have good racing on this circuit with road cars. The RS200 race here was perfect! 👍

EDIT
Just realized...strong possibility you're referring to DR A, not Race A, lol. I really need to scrool back more in the future.... 🤣

Don’t worry about them, worry about your pace and rhythm I was the exact same place as you and you have to drive better, slightly quicker and focused on the road ahead.

There is a reason racing bikes don’t have mirrors ;)

🤣 it’s fine to be honest, it goes for both, race A is absolutely fierce racing this week, after an absolute bunch of laps with no improvement I am getting to feel to throw the car around a little and it’s bringing some time, just enjoyed the racing to be honest, even though i punt the odd guy and need to wait for him 😂

Had this great race with a French guy and a German guy, we all were a tenth off each other for the whole race, German guy faded off, was just passing the French guy literally last turn when he took too much curb and he totally wiped me out 🤣 toe rag

Then my last race of the night, this happened

🙏

Road Atlanta is on fire this week, with sector 1 being especially brutal. Did a few races on my normal account, starting positions between P3 / P7. Starting at the front-ish is definitely easier because you have a bigger chance of people crashing into each other behind you. P7 was already a bit trickier, but I also managed that. I am often not the fastest guy on track (often 0.5 or even a full second slower than the fastest lap), but I don't crash a lot and I let faster or aggressive looking drivers go so I can still have a decent finish. Sometimes they crash or penalize themselves so I can overtake again.

My alt account is now almost level with my main account (both low DR B (11.000-15.000 DR)). On my alt account I always drive from the back. In DR C lobbies I have the pace to work myself to the front from there. In this way I got promoted to DR B. Tried one more race from the back in a full DR B lobby yesterday evening. Started P14. Because of people that don't brake accordingly, or go side by side into sector 1 I was P9 in lap 2. Kept my head down despite some faster guy approaching from behind. Finished all the way in P3! Happy with that. The faster guy had a way better exit out of the final turn of sector 1, but he ran into me. I could keep the car under control but he spun and lost at least 1 position. I could safely bring the car home in P3. Too bad for him, but that's what you can get if you are trying to race real close.

The this bloody happens 😂😂 still lost DR

Man, I can now see how some people just want to quit. Race C is brutal already, but add to it an absolutely busted penalty system, and you're in for a treat. I can't count how many times I got punted or spun by someone without them getting a penalty. Another one of my favourites is that stupid penalty left-hander where someone bumps you off, and you still get a track limit penalty.. absolutely infuriating.
Also, the TT is so stacked that TOP 100 pretty much cuts off at flat 17, and with 17:555, I currently stand at P 800 or so.. crazy.
Another thing, as a (currently) high A rank, it is pretty difficult to get any substantial DR while being matched with the likes of D.Chafe, L.Burton, Wind etc. Been stuck at these last 1-2k's for an entire week, not sure if I can make it to A+

Just converted a P6 start into a P3 finish at Road Atlanta. In some weeks I get punted off so many times, in other weeks I get lucky I think. Most of the aggressive driving happens just before or after me, and I can prevent the worst chaos.

So it happened that I could not break into the 1:19's on my soft stint (only some low 1:20's), but I had consistency. Behind me were 2 guys who did their second stint on the mediums and they were as quick on mediums as I was on softs. But because of earlier shenanigans they somehow ended up behind me after the pit stop phase so I could just cruise to a podium, holding them at the same gap of 5 seconds.

It’s ridiculous isn’t it! I’ve had maybe 20 races this week and I’ve completed two of them without getting shoved off!!! It’s so frustrating as the car and track is really fun to drive. It’s just stupid idiots diving down the inside and pushing you off constantly!!

Offfhh that’s some tough company to be in for competition!!! Good luck!!

Lovely mate!!! Congrats!! Keep those nice finishes coming!!!
@Gurzu @Stringerbell they don’t look to be out yet for some reason, won’t steal @Uday9479 thunder but I just had a wee look to see 😁
I’m glad I’m not the only inpatient one!! I just need a new track! Race C is killing me with getting pushed off, but I can’t stop trying it, think I’m in an abusvie relationship with it! Thinking this time it will be different 😂😂 literally on the verge of C now 😂🤦‍♂️

Getting to DRA
You have been pushing all week and are so close to DRA you can smell it. Placed 14th at the start of the race with A+ and A drivers you’re thinking 🤔 a sound result and glory 🥳 could be mine.
Then this happens!!!! Noooooo 🫣😥😥

FINALLY!! A result!!! This actually shut the door on me falling into the 15k DR 🤦‍♂️ started the week at 28!

I’ve worked out a foolproof strategy so if anyone is struggling with not getting results or getting pushed off follow my guide!

  • Start P2
  • Make an immediate mistake so P3 passes you
  • Look in your review to see P4-P9 in one almighty pile up!
  • drive 14 laps on your own with a 5-8 second gap behind and 10 seconds in front
60% of the time it works everytime!

@Bondwhar looks to me like you were P1 in your own little race there 😂🤦‍♂️ that surely can’t have knocked you back any DR though did it?
