I’ve done 3 races today started 8th, 10th and 12th

Not a lot of drama but avoiding or braking to avoid other people has be a challenge, I’m still SR S but the SR penalties are so so so high on this one and that’s definitely a sorting choice from PD. It feels a little like they want a bit of rebalancing to happen and with the lag I’d guess a new GTWS or update/both are coming soon, or they are testing something/Sony is changing something

Some refreshingly clean and respectful Race A's this teatime!

Starting amongst the other A rated drivers at the front, usually just by a small margin time-wise of the B drivers, the jostling into Druids after the grid start has been fantastic.

It's always a pleasure when your opponents take responsibility for their mistakes and don't try to drag you into their mess when they go off-line. The margins are so fine at Brand's Hatch and with these tyres, you can capitalise on very small errors.

TBH I am closer to 2.5% but in either case no, more like top 7000.

Between 0.6 and 1 %. To be competitive in A is needed to be inside the 300 on the leaderbord. As per my experience it's a treshold quite representative for being between pole and 6th (maybe 8th) in grid. If you look for pole, inside the 200 becomes almost mandatory.

Thanks Guys - I'm in and around top 4,000 which is starting me top 3 in B in race C, but I've always got my eye on where I need to be to compete top half in A, TBH I use @Barney Da Dog as my barometer as to whether I've got pace (turns out each week I'm disapointed that he's a full second quicker than me ) But definitely gives me something chase

It's like speaking to my wife glad you're back to SR S mate, it was doing my head in last week at Spa as well so i know how frustrating it can be.

Well first race back, despite a rear end which got apologised for and a 0.5 pen, we are back to SR increases! And I am seeing that using 380 sens on the wheel is helping through that damn tunnel section, so let’s go attack that time now 😁

Didn't race yesterday evening. Had a touch of GT burn-out after chasing a top 100 in the online TT (Mx5, Road Atlanta)

Planning to race over the weekend at Brands. Might even creep into DR A - god help me lol

Much better racing going on at GVH at SR S I’m pleased to report, the weekend hopefully is saved!

Had a nice race starting 7th wheel to wheel with a couple of gents, couple of small dinks here and there but ppl slowing to balance things which is always nice to be a part of

Finished 4th and increase in both

Finally, the win came!

A fairly persistent front row meant a good opportunity to get to know my opponents this afternoon. An improved quali didn't really have much of an affect on my grid position, so another chance to practice the careful attack/defend balancing act that are the first two corners at Brands Hatch!

The sole A+ driver in pole succumbed to early pressure, leaving plenty of exploitable gaps. They were back up speed by the end of lap 3 and ended up pushing me to within 1 tenth over the finish line.

This race feels like it gets better every time.

Our DR numbers are very close (I am at 28K), the step up to the top half of A is very, very large. On tracks I am strong at and if I put in a good QT, I will qualify lower mid pack in a split A/A+ room (there's not many A+ drivers so they are often in top split A rooms) and it is REALLY tough going. The biggest difference is the lack of errors and the ability to run hard in a pack with high powered cars. Group 4 is ne thing, but Group 3 I really struggle to keep up as I am just not consistent enough. Some of that is down to inherent lack of pace, so I am driving at 10/10ths to keep up, others around me at 9/10ths so they make less errors.

Top half of A/A+ you will need to find about a second a lap from the A/B split rooms to run mid pack.

If it’s civics you are gonna be mad…if it’s crap you dodged a bullet!

Honestly I’m getting tired of the overall standards because qually times aren’t translating in to race pace and that is problematic.

I’ll give it one more go tomorrow but I’m not enjoying it at all and I play to forget my worries not live in a condensed version of my life which is dealing with other peoples “moments”

What is the point when I like TT and QT anyways.

Rant over carry on, I’m gonna gonna make some beef madras.

@newmedia_dev mate I’m having having an absolute blast in B, had the pleasure of @Bondwhar in that race but check the video out, he is the yellow car and that’s a novel way to take the corner 😂 and also mr B very nice lap after I just beat your time! Not sure I’m beating that one!

But the video shows exactly the races I’ve been having, clean, close, and everyone being respectful. Such fun.

I’d call it adults racing 😁

But a solid 3k increase tonight and topped the SR too

Yeah I think it’s just that my splits are like top 100 and then when I drop a split the ambition of them outweighs the talent or control so I’m in this disappointing limbo, damned if you avoid the carnage and penalised for avoiding it.

It’s an interesting week to see how race performance is being judged (SR hit massively) vs how people think they actually race.

It’s all fine just harder to navigate when the pace is knife edge low 58s dropping in to 57s let alone the aliens that are in race close to 56s

Mate, totally feel you, I just turned off for the night as my races are now occupied by AS and A+S 😁 and on one hand, the races are so much better but on the other, you got to be lucky to be getting ahead.

I was lucky to finish 10th in a race and have an increase in DR&SR and in my last race, starting 12th and finishing 7th but yeah - you are punished by your clean racing in the end 😁

But got to be better than the gutters of SR B/C I have to say

So managed some more of Daily Race C today (Suzuka) and I tried to test out the Ferrari 296, overall a good car but can be abit skittish if you cant countersteer in time to save it. I fixed my qualy time with this car and did ok, but then switched over per TYranuss recommedation, the new Anti-meta car which was the dominant R8 Evo and this car excelled really well, I think the more I use it the more comfy I will get with it and using strategy pits to push foward. 6th so far working my up the podium.

Put in a shift tonight. 8 races completed at Brands and overall it went well. 3 wins, 3 bad losses (spun myself out in one and punted off in the other 2). Set my PB qually time (44.1) between races which is unusual for me. Into DR A but not sure for how long!

If youre winning 3 of 8 races in a high B room then you've likely got the fundamental pace to compete above mid pack in DRA rooms.

Depends on various factors. I felt I was pretty poor at Spa in mid to high B lobbies, and even at Brands my wins came from Pole and my losses from P2 or lower; I don't like starting from the left side of the grid. If I can get out of the first 2 corners unscathed I can get my head down and go into TT mode where I've spent most of my play time over the years.

Ah mate I’m way off 28k now 😂🤦‍♂️ trying to learn Gr3 the last few weeks has taken me from 32k to 16k!!! I think I’ve got a handle on it now and got back to 20k at Suzuka but am away for a week in Jakarta now so hopefully a fun race C when I’m back!!!

YES MATE!!! Lovely work! I think you’ll be fine to compete in A with how well you qualify, you should still be towards the top half of the grid!! Let us know how you get on!!

Managed to shave half a second off my time at GVH, good ole @Tidgney ghost and lap guide pushing me on and I think there’s a little more to find,

Went for a walk to the bar area of jakarta just now, ended up 2 hours late for my reservation 😂😂 as I stumbled across this place on the way!!!

Didn’t have GT7 as was all PC but two big observations.

1. The proper rig and triple monitor or wrap around monitor (I tried both) are amazing, waaaaaay more immersive than having my playseat trophy in front of of the tv (even with the tv being 100inch) it’s no where near as immersive as the screen attached to rhe rig in front of you

2. I raced Spa at assert corsa and realised that shocking driving standards are not exclusive to GT7!! Was absolute carnage and even the lightest touch in AC sends you flying

Mate that’s awesome, pc racing can be really good. When I started out I played a lot of iracing and mostly it was great fun, mx5 at limerock park was my first and only win 😁 but spec racer and mustang races were also great & my assetto days of racing the Audi R8/BMW gr2 cars and the dalarra f4 had me glued for years!!

At least you have your racing fix sorted whilst out there!

I’ve come to the conclusion that I’m not chasing DR anymore, players numbers are lower in B this week so I’m starting at the back as if I was in DR A!!! Due to mixed groups, but that was prior to the 1.58.4 which I’m going to have a good go at today, but as long as the SR is high S then I’m happy.

Sitting around 22.5k DR 😁

No need to be so salty, also regardless of what car you drive it’s more immersive and has real visual depth and proportions which with a wheel help you place and contextualize traction, rotation and slip angle and relative position to those around you.
