Started playing GT7 after about 5 years off sim racing. Bought a Logitech RS50 to upgrade from the G29 collecting dust. Very rusty (was never that good anyways), but having a lot of fun, despite the punters. After getting down to D with the Gr3 race last week, switched it up to driving the Nissan at Fuji. Reminded me of my first car I ever had, a 1986 Mazda RX7, that wasn't big on horsepower but could be thrown around on the road like a little toy. Finally got my first win after 10+ pole positions and spinning out from the lead more than once, which felt great. I'm dedicated to using no racing line this time around, which is more fun, but less consistent for sure.
My early observation was racing in D resulted in less punts than racing in C, solely for the fact that ghosting is increased. Maybe it's more common to get punted when racing Gr3 cars compared to a 1990s road car, though, because the delta between closing speed into the corner compared to what the braking car is slowing down to is much greater. A bit harder to punt someone if your car was never going super fast in the first place.
