I entered my first Race B of the week after setting my PB QT.

Good to see @BuzzdoggZ in the lobby.

Started around p5 finished p8. There was a collision in front of me and I slowed to avoid the fallout (turned out it wasn't necessary as just as I was about to impact their car ghosted). Then got swamped and lost concentration. Then it was playing catch-up and damage limitation.

BuzzdoggZ had good race up ahead I think. P3!
You were unlucky having to take evasive action, while I was far enough behind the collision that I could carry on full speed through the ghosts and off on my merry way. It also helped that you were then holding off the pack behind, much appreciated 👍

I bet you've gone and beaten my bloody time!!!!

You going to get some more races in?
Yes he has, and my time too, the little get 😆

Can't even go to work in peace without fear and getting tumbled down the leaderboard!!!
Don’t worry you’ve a decent enough time to keep you in the top half, depending on how many mates you have got 🤣

I’m finding it tough going at Yama, seem to be massively overdriving the car to hang on those kerbs to pull myself around and it just isn’t working

Drop down to B with me and it's wins galore
Stop sandbagging and come up to A.

Has anyone had much luck finding a non meta winner for Race C?

I've been running the Hyundai VGT. It has the kind of profile where it's lightning in the straights but it's not too shabby on cornering either. I've had a few races where my pit strat has given me a good opportunity for podiums, but mostly over been shunted aside by hybrids in my second stint (I haven't been changing tyres, which is probably a factor in that).

I've been diving in the pits as early as lap 1 or 2 and I'm certain a player of a higher calibre and/or better at preserving rubber could have some luck.

@newmedia_dev thinking I may push the button on the PSVR2 how do you find racing without seeing the leaderboard and the time between you and the car behind etc… was reading that there is much less info on the VR?

Also the speedometer switches between mph/kph dependant on car doesn’t it? Is that confusing?

I love it.

Honestly losing some of the Race UI is initially annoying but you still have the mirrors and the ability to look next to you so it’s a better trade off.

With the mirrors you start to judge gaps quite well behind you the only time it’s awkward is not having either the position deltas or a track map for gauging pit traffic gaps otherwise the experience itself and the main hud (floating area above your eye line and the MFD) mean it’s just enough.

It’s not much less just the Delta position list track map that you don’t get, on the flip side cars with dynamic dashes or wheel displays work which is quite cool for a little while.

To the question about the switching between imperial and metric once your in VR the actual numbers don’t mean much it’s about the feeling of the lap and quite honestly it’s the glances at the Rev counter not the speedo you’ll do.

Overall the VR feel makes you focus in a very different way to the 2d cams.

Edit:

@Nebuc72 i keep watching you improve car after car! Go over to the dark side with the meta ;)

Edit:

Now I know a 1:32 is there (just as I’ve moved my optimal down to nebus time)

Plus some brake release timing optimisations) I’m tired and not massively enjoying work right now so not quite on it.
