Thanks mate - all good here, business as usual - I'm still at my desk at work!

Yama is a really fun track with the high speed corners and hooking the curbs etc... you'll have fun! Plus the leaderboard battle is going to be a blast this week, even more so with you involved!!!!!
That is seriously fast getting into the 33’s 😳, hope you saved that lap for us mere mortals. Interesting that the Porsche is now being used 🤓🤠

Thanks mate - didn't manage to share it as it was a case of "one more lap" and I was touch and go being late for my meeting so had to run out the door. Did save it though so will share it when I get home.

So yesterday I tried out the new daily Races and saw on other YT streamers that GR.1 cars were at Spa, thinkng ok great this will be chaos but fun as I love Spa! I did three attempts and the last one gave me Victory at Spa! You can kindly watch the photos and video below. ENJOY!!

Race summaries:
Race 1 - Abysmal, chaos all over!! - Toyota GR010 Hybrid is nerfed by BOP yet feels faster on straights!
Race 2 - Much better 7th place - Peugeot 908 HDI - Got pitted by a dirty driver midrace, but recovered to 7th - see my TY channel!
Race 3 - Almost Solid battle & racing - Porsche 919 Hybrid - A very fun battle to Podium - Finally a Victory at SPA!

A very solid race overall and I had to work from 3rd in this B lobby and lost the top positon once during racing, and then recovered on laps 8 to 9 as P1 & P2 drivers headbutted each other on the final chicane leaving a solid gap for me to capatilise on Pole and then I battled to hold it tlll the finishing laps! A very fun race and I enjoyed it very much. Thankfully this time i could record the reply and share it here with you all.

After a really really frustrating session I somehow hit 33.813 with an optimal of 33.5. (Race B QT)

For the first 8-10 laps I was nowhere (35s) and ready to sell my ps5/wheel etc.
You bigger. I shaved half a tenth off and went to see if I’d climbed a place and I’d dropped down 1 instead 😂😂😂

This is what it’s all about!!! 5 of us just over a tenth apart!!!!!

Went home for 3 races at lunch! First in the first two and then decided to spin myself “taking it easy” in the chicane from first in the chicane 🤦‍♂️😂 managed to get back to P10 then a driver shoved someone off in front of me and swerved in front of me to block me as I was going 60mph faster! So nice of him

I've also joined the 33.8 gang, although at the slower end. I tried a whole bunch of different cars this morning and it feels like the AMG '20 suits me the best. I will enjoy our friendly leaderboard contest.

Guys those 33s are brutal!! Not sure I can get that far up the board but I’ve started to improve a little,

Noticed my wheel was still on SENS 500 so I’ll whip that down to 360 later and see if that’s any better,

The races have been fun though, I hope I’m still in A by the time I find some competitiveness

The left hander just before the sector 3 marker, after the big chicane, those in the 911 are you shifting down to 1st? Same with last corner?

Mines been on 360 for everything. I even tried 270 for race A last week but that was a bit too sketchy.

Yeah I needed it in 500 for that old Merc, 360 was certainly sketchy for that, I’ll give it a go

Hopefully it will help

I do feel the default steering lock is too loose, i need to tighten mine a tad as I need a LOT of input through the esses. I have also always felt, since getting the wheel, there is this tiny, tiny bit of lag, like what feels natural is a millisecond late to turn in, i need to turn in a tickle before it fees right to nail my lines

You have a fanatec right? Changing that sens did wonders for me,

Also there is a firmware update for the fanatec out now which gives more NM so go update yours and keep an eye because a new true force update comes out soon too

After many invalidated laps and copious amounts of swearing and hair pulling, I've set a QT which feels like the absolute limit of my abilities at Yami. As Tidgney says in his video if you don't hook your tyres over the inside of the curb by the perfect mm, you can say goodbye to a half decent lap time!

It's time to put my big boy pants on and actually do some races 😆

Some of you guys wait too long to race. I guess it is different if you legit have all week, i have until thursday so I am racing monday.

Me too mate I’m straight out there, losing DR, but I’m straight out there 😁

For those with a Fanatec wheel what pedals are you using? Not really happy with the standard CSL pedals - particularly the brake feel.

Amazon have the CSL elite v2's for £249.

Does anyone not use ABS?

If you're asking competitively the only time ABS off is advantageous is in karts. ABS is otherwise too perfect in this game for it be faster with it off.

I’ve the normal ones like you mate but with the load cell

Also I have them wide apart as they go, brake and pedal

Osshhh cracking lap that mate!!!! Going to take some chasing to get anywhere near that!!!!!!

@NevilleNobody @brockie i used to jump in after about half hour of practice but I’d be all over the place and would take me until we’d to get up to speed. Spending a few hours finding the pace and learn the track first thing Monday has been a game changer for me

My first race of the week didn't go too well, minding my own business in P6 while the 3 cars ahead have a scrap, then as I take advantage of their battle to pass I promptly get pool shotted off the track - finished 11th and cursing my luck at being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Next race was better, started 4th and finished 4th. Hopefully I can continue to compete in upper mid pack and maintain DR this week.

Not feeling race A at all this week....i just do not like the car at all.
I was suffering from a monumental hangover yesterday and could barely manage to wear my VR set for very long so QT was poor enough for B. I really like this track so will give it another shot. Tried 2 races, first was a complete disaster on my part 🙉

Anyway, i tried again and got very lucky....skip to 8:00 mins in and watch my first lap 🤣🤣

I will take that considering the state i was in 🤢🤢🤢

Ok thanks. Long time FM'23 player where no ABS was a bit faster. One of the few things I miss since switching to GT7. I can't feel the brakes in this. Not sure if it's even worth changing to a load cell or to a different set of pedals entirely.

Ask 10 people, get 10 different opinions!

I improved to a 133.3 with an optimum 2/10ths lower (I’ve shared replays for .8, .5 and .3

With the .3 one just remember I was full commitment to the chicane as I got the two curbs right and chicane turn in so bear that in mind when pushing

@Lightsider74 personally, I prefer the pressure vs movement (loadcell vs just spring) as it makes smoothing the trail braking a little nice as it’s removing weight not ankle motion but honestly it’s a preference thing rather good vs bad

Making a little progress but chasing a ghost is having a negative effect now as I’m braking too late and making a hash of it all,

1.34.455 is a decent effort for a few laps work, steering lock made a difference and need to race for a bit now as the week goes on.

Can’t decide if the endurance model or the sprint model is the way to go?

I tried both, i tried the AMG too, still felt more comfortable in the Porsche tbh. I find the M6 a bit dull really.

It’s a real shame because I used to love the Porsche but I just can’t hook this one up, the BM I never used before until the gr3 Watkins Glen races, from there I could use it.

Funny that because i could not use the '17 model at all and i love the '22 model. I always used the Beemer around Bathurst as i find it very stable there. It just lacks something....noise probably, i like to hear the car revving out to judge shift points rather than looking at idiot lights. Seeing these lap times being posted has me nervous...bit too quick you lot 🤣🤣
