I’ll definately try tho different races.

I found the spatial awareness way worse then bumper cam. I missed the apex’s on the first three turns on Laguna and then the left hander you throw it into I hit the sausage every time. The strut of the window frame was constantly in the way.

The corkscrew made my stomach do a somersault (in a good way) was such a real experience.

On the graphics, I reset and fiddled about with it a lot but I’m not 100% I’ve got it right
Don’t jump in to dailies or QT instantly mate,

Get in an MX 5 and do a few laps of tskuba, like everything it needs you to calibrate mentally first, and then go.

On the apex thing, again attacking the corners like you would in bumper. You have to look, physically and that takes a few consistent laps to internalise.

Race the AI, I mean that just do brands Indy or something similar in an MX5 or hot hatch.

Remember you are fundamentally using a completely different experience layer that’s way beyond visual first.

@newmedia_dev @Shackster thanks for the tips.

Will jump on in a few hours and see how it goes.

My concern with it was I rely heavily on the delta in quali to see where I’m gaining ad losing time and also the leaderboard to see how the gap in front and behind is doing.

How have you guys dealt with not having that?
Use the force 🤪😂🤠

As posted in one of my recent posts in this thread about next week's dailies, I'm a bit perplexed relating to Race B (RM tyres).

Usually Race A & B get over within 20 minutes but this time I wonder how Race B will be run? Nurburgring Endurance II - even 1 lap in a Gr.3 car would take 8 minutes and more. So are we going to have 2 laps only which still seems too tight to fit into a 20 minute slot fixed for Race B?

I found a clip on Youtube where the user posted his daily race at this same track in Gr.3 (similar to the one we may have tomorrow) but the only difference is here it was 3 laps that would take around 25 minutes.

The only other variable I see for this is Gr.1 or 2 cars. Can anyone shed a light on this?

Whatever it is I shall not be touching it 😁
1 lap race is like a lottery. But it should be fun. Qualifying well here is priority.

Race C will be a thrill because of using two racing tyre compounds. It's going to be a GT by Citroen fest + G70 for company kind of race.

When the Ring is one lap all that means is that the real race is qualifying and that nobody will be racing clean at all. I never pass up an opportunity to race the Ring except for when it's one lap b/c it won't be a race it will be a disaster

Hi everyone. Looks like more people are avoiding race B. I started a race C (in the Atenza) in P6 and it was full of punters who thought the race was won in lap 1. So I was dead last at the end of lap 1. Still finished 6th because I tried to drive carefully.

Second race I started P8 and finished P4 because many people crashed in the chicane. 8 laps on mediums is doable, but my left front was quite worn (70%ish) at the end.

Just like myself, if anyone prefers antimeta cars compared to the meta ones, do try the Corvette C7 in Race C.

Before the race started, I managed to put in a decent qualy time of 1:50:0xx which put me 8th on the grid. As most, I started on RH - RM strategy which I always prefer (starting on the harder/slower compound & then switching to the softer/faster compound to feel progression in grip & pace). The ones right at the front were in RM-RH strategy.

The good (if not best) thing about the C7 is the acceleration. Plus, the FR drivetrain wants to make this car turn into the corners with more stability.

Apart from the car You choose, it matters more when You decide to pit. Considering the tyre wear isn't too severe, undercutting or overcutting can work depending on how You're placed & which tyre You're starting on. The one who finished ahead of me pitted on lap 10 for RH after using RM for 10 laps. I've seen users even lap after 1 or 2 laps. SO the strategy is what can make or break the result which I think really makes Race C a charm.

Apart from C7 handling like a charm, I was amazed how good it felt comparatively to the Atenzas around me as I was always gaining on them after negotiating the CoD. At the end, I gained 6 positions & finished 2nd thanks to this lovely antimeta of a car & undercutting those ahead of me. I took a chance with this car as I remembered TyrannoCyrusRex on Youtube had pointed this car as the antimeta in the recent Daytona GR.4 Race C. I love this car.

Im just getting the hang of the Schleife and having loads of fun, then they do it in reverse :D
I dont like tracks in reverse. Add more tracks. And Nurburg seems extra wrong in reverse for some reason hehe...
But i hope you gyus who like it have a blast!

Wow within 60 minutes of qualifying (in 2 sessions) I have a 1:48:0 on the clock for race C. I'm not yet used to the idea I can creep below 102 % of the top time. This was a lap where I got the chicane of death wrong, in another lap I could do it flatout. So there's even more on the table. If I can get the trial braking into the esses more or less right consistently I'm also very happy. It still needs a bit of practicing, I overslow a lot in the first left-hander.

Yeah, I’m A/C myself next week although I’ve had to stop driving at the mo as I twisted my elbow trying to catch a 200mph slide in the Monza TT one handed (don’t ask)
Oi! What happened to not driving??? Giving me false hope I wouldn’t be shunted down the friends list! I go in to check and there you are with a 47.2!! 😂 or are you beating me one handed now????

I think I may need to adjust my dislike for race C, interlagos isn’t going to do it for me and I think a week in the Atenza may see me through, so that’s settled.

1.47.8xx and we see where this takes me

Sorry, it didn’t ache as much so I did some driving, annoyed I didn’t make 46s but there you go, the target is set. 🤣

Nice mate!! Good tarting point that straight off the bat!!! Took me a good few laps to get into the 47’s!!!

@newmedia_dev I’ll be chasing that time on Thursday when I time trial again. Going to race the next few nights! My optimal was a .2xx but just couldn’t hook up the middle section when I was up on S1!

Good to hear the elbow is ok and your racing though!!

Gran Turismo 7 Daily Races: Wrong Way ‘Round the Ring

A new week brings a new set of Gran Turismo 7 Daily Races, with three fresh events now live and running through next Monday...
I recognise that picture 🤗

This should be a fun week of dailies, although I'm not sure why they're not running it the right way round.

In typical gran Turismo fashion we have a world famous endurance race happen and the daily race of the following week ends up being a race that is on the completely wrong layout that's also reversed and ends up being a sprint race. I'm not surprised, just disappointed.

Edit: at least they didn't make it a GR4 race...

After about 1 win in my first 40 sport mode races, had a really good week at Laguna with 4 wins in 9 races. The attrition of that race was strong and a clean race could take me a long way. Pretty close to getting to B for the first time. Will skip this week's races due to work commitments, but hopefully there are some better ones next week.
