Am I just getting all in my head then on the Atenza being bad in the race? When i see people talk about different cars being better I'm assuming big differences? Is 5 laps on RH and the rest on RM in the Atenza only going to b marginally slower than the C4 on RM or are we talking .5 - 1 second a lap?

Nice mate, might try the Ferrari then, i've held off the alt account, got 5k left of DR in A as a buffer to get my head around racing here.
I’m enjoying myself again in the alt account, I think I may just go back to the main and drop out of A I’m clearly only competitive there in the odd race and don’t belong there.

Probably racing at a lower level won’t do me any good long term in my battle to stay in A.

I think I’ve just plateaued skill wise and that’s it.

You on the other hand are rapid mate and giving Glen a run for his money 😁 god going!

I've been having the same thoughts about A and B to be honest mate, I'm definitely too fast for B as every time I drop back I'm just going from the front of the grid to get back into A after a few days which is a bit dull. I need to work on my racecraft to be able to pull a result out from P8-12 in A though as I get involved in too many incidents.

Maybe keep the main in A for the combo's where you're competitive and have the alt in B for the other races? That way you have competitive races each week?

Thanks for the comparison with Glenn but I think he and Barney definitely have the edge on me, I am just putting in 10 X as many quali laps

@BuzzdoggZ @Bondwhar @Lightsider74 are you lads getting out on track this week?

I've been having similar thoughts. What used to scare me a little was that the whole "DR OFF" situation in Race A (it looks like they've mostly ditched it?) meant I was often stuck in a weird purgatory where my ranking was too low, mismatched in lobbies and no way to raise it up. Conversely, attempting Race B/C and I would get totally spanked.

In many ways, my alt has revealed unequivocally that my level is somewhere at the bottom of DR A. Every time I switch accounts, the rankings of the two edge nearer and nearer to each other, in opposite directions, destined to meet at the border.

It's honestly a slightly strange, if not exactly problematic, situation. One which I hope the developers find a way to address in their next game.

For now I'll continue just trying to enjoy the racing.

I may have been too quick to judge the little Citroen! shaved half a tenth off my PB at lunch, feels like it's actually a lot quicker through sector 2 and not a huge difference in S1 as I not good enough to get the atenza over the curb in T1 so I wasn't even benefiting from the time gain there. Still trying to chip it down into the 36's. Got my first DR gain in 7 races purely by being my first race without crashing myself or hitting someone else that crashed.

I don't think it's just you - I can't get it to work at all. It's 1.5 seconds per lap slower in qualifying than the G70 for me!

I've set a QT in the G70 almost identical to the last time we had this combo, but it's much easier to drive than it was last time. Must have softer suspension or something, as it's much more planted over the kerbs, particularly through the COD.
This time we are on RM's when last time it was RH so think that helps, but the time difference isn't huge. WR last time was 1.46.221 and this time it's only two and half tenths lower at 1.45.946. It was bright sunshine last time so not sure if the overcast weather is lowering tyre temps and causing the RM's to be closer to the RH's? I'm sure @newmedia_dev knows the exact answer?

add me on psn stringerb2505 as I don't think I've got you on my friends list?

Yep had a few races yesterday in Race C and overall a clean and pleasant experience. Shall be on track again later today 🥳🥳🤠

SLightly OT but did I miss a physics update or something? Getting atrocious wheel shake on the straights in the two TT, like tearing the wheel from my hand bad, undriveable.

Have you updated your wheel recently? If so maybe it's reset your wheel settings. Same wheel as mine and haven't noticed any issues.

Always love racing DTS so am enjoying C this week. Even got a rare win!

I also happy to see the sweet-handling Cayman be competitive in Gr4 (which it rarely is). Also nice to see those damn Citroens be slower (relatively).

Fwiw, I can get 10 laps on the RMs in the Cayman which allows for a 1st lap undercut while everyone is bunched up and fighting.
Tried this one today and it works a treat! Start on hard and pit lap 1

Started 9th today finished 3rd 😁

I went the opposite as starter on pole and went out on mediums and pitted last lap (almost forgot and swerved in last minute) 😂🤦‍♂️

Always got to be grateful when PD pops you in a slower lobby!!!!

A cool coincidence. That time was achieved in the C7. In my secondary a/c, I've clocked 1:47:927 in the C7 as well. I'll be using this car only as it's my 'nirvana' car.

A word of caution Mate - Don't use the SLS in DT. It was the first car I tried. It's stable but lacks the acceleration to make it competitive enough. That's where the C7 comes in - immense acceleration + great top end.

@Barney Da Dog - As per TyrannoCyrusRex who said in the anti meta vid I shared in this thread recently that the 458 is very good for 1 lap pace but not overall worth for the entire race stint. Kindly consider any other car Mate so You can finish in the positions You aim for.

Mate that’s winning in A! Nice work,

That’ll be your QT time, you are leaderboard alien 😂

@NevilleNobody big fanatec update giving extra nm and another due soon giving free true force, 😁

Anyone looking to jump into DT. The atenza is sooooo bad on tyres. I don’t even think it’s really an option for the race. I’m switching to the Citroen
Did a couple of C's today (in the 458) but was just constantly losing time to the Citroens and ended up last in both races - it appears the Citroen is the only real option (in the second race there were 14 of them!)

Managed to improve my race C QT to 1.47.72x and had a couple of opportunities to improve only for my ability to take the CoD desert me, I reckon I got a 47.5 in me, I could be scrubbing time off with the steering settings so will have a play tomorrow.

Getting competitive at the top of my leaderboard with Barney/Stringer/Glen super close and super fast.

Thought I’d do a pit last lap this time to give some cars to race but no, every one went for first lap pit and I trundled around on my own 😂 managed a race for a lap at the end and finished p2

Does this mean we are going to see you stray from your beloved Ferraris for a change or you staying faithful to the brand 👀👀

Mate that’s the ideal strategy! I’m sitting in the warm up to see what tyres people are on and then switching the opposite at the last minute to get as much clean air as possible!!!

Nice work on the QT! You’ll be at the sharp end of the 47’s in no time!!!

One of the more coherent races I've had this week, doesn't help I haven't played in months. It's amazing how all the kerbs that help you the proper way round now spin you off. The carousel is lethal.

Kinda wish it was GR3 for C then there would be a bit of variety and more errors to deal with. COD has been disappointingly un-deathy so far!

I will try racing the Citroen later 🙈

Edit/ tried Citroen in a race and I have no consistency with it - lapping mid 48s to mid/high 49s.
Went back to Ferrari and consistently low 48s and a couple of high 47 laps. And finished P5.

Porsche seems pretty strong - one finished P3, and another won the following race. I can't recall driving it before 🤔

I"m between Supra, Nsx and 458
SLS is for QT only

You know SLS is one of my favorite Gr.4 cars. This car gave me immense success during St. Croix Gr.4 race C in March. But the slow & medium speed corners hurt this car here.

Do give the F-Type & C7 a shot. Both are bullets in their own right & lovely cars too.

I struggled with the Citroen for a the first few races but after 15/20 laps in quali I found some pace with it and it’s great in the race!!

Is Gr3 still flat in the COD?

Im enjoying our little game of cat and mouse on the leaderboard 😂

It’s enjoyable from afar too!!! Thought you had the win there mate, that eventual winner pitted lap 1 and was behind me for most of the race after my mishap L1 😁

Only a tenth in it!

Yeah I had over a second lead on Frankone coming out the pits on last lap but didn’t adjust to the hard tyres and missed every apex for the whole lap 🤦‍♂️

We ended up side by side through the COD which went as well as you’d expect.

Was fun though and picked up 2 P2’s today but threw away both wins with mistakes at the end but happy to be at that end of the results regardless

What happened L1?

Trying auto steering settings to aid some true scrub and didn’t quite prepare for cod so needless to say, switched it back

always good to make a change just before a race  I'm guilty of deciding to try a completely new and different line half way through a race which never goes well!!!
