Hey PD... If you got tired of people complaining about tracks repeating and cars repeating.. How about .. Fisherman's Ranch?

Once I fitted the ASM aid onto my Hyundai Elantra vehicle, the combo actually became a whole lot of fun! Doesn't mean I'm going to return to it though, I definitely won't as it's too 'easy', too lifeless.

Highlights of the lap were a very very good final sector, low lights were pretty much everything else. Weak ABS as per usual. See you in a week for a fresh TT!

First session at Catalunya and I was at 400th. As I attempted to improve I watched my position fall down the ranks as people got on this.

Stepped away, got coffee, and came back. That break was good.

Second session, I pulled this out fairly quick. Now I’m wondering if I can find time to get into the 1:50s.

Who I’m I kidding? I’m not that good! 😊

Gran Turismo 7 Online Time Trial: N-escapable​

This week’s new Online Time Trial has a familiar ring to it. Gran Turismo 7 puts everyone in the well-worn Hyundai Elantra N TC ’24 for a lap of the chicane-free Grand Prix layout at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, on Racing Hard tires.
 
WHat a weird car to drive the Hyundai is. There's these weird lulls either in the engine or the fact there's wheel spin maybe? It's a very non-linear experience. I have an easy gold but I set a middle sector some 7 tenths faster than I could repeat in 12 laps and that mid sector was not on my best lap.

So odd.

Imagine giving us a combo of a car nobody wants to use anymore due to how OP it got. Especially when we have 7 other cars to pick from, from the latest patch! Incredible trolling from PD I'd say.

PD, somehow completely unaware of the universal detestation the playerbase has for this car: "Hey, nobody has used the Gr.4 Hyundai any time recently, let's use that!"

After reading @Metalgear9493 comment I switched ASM on and I agree it’s improved. Car seems to turn in better on the long sweepers and sharp 90° turns. I took near 0.2s off my prior time.

How much of that is ASM or me naturally improving idk. 🤷🏼‍♂️

That said on my third session I had no improvement. Very close but no. My optimal is in the 1:50.9s - I just need to put it together.

Perhaps I’ll try without ASM again.

Not too bad in the Hyundai for the first time out - 1:50.782 (with a .654 optimum). I did not try without ASM, so I can't say how that impacted me...but sounds like it's a magic-maker-faster-happener here so, I just turned that on to begin with.
 
Improvement! I made it to the top 100 (probably for about 5 minutes 🤣).

This is a very rare spot for me. Top of my friends leaderboard as well - and there’s some very fast peeps on that, ahem @Manimal

Changing my worn oil helped. 🤔

I know it won’t last but I’m happy for now.

Improvement! I made it to the top 100 (probably for about 5 minutes 🤣).

Wow, well done. Still ASM on? I did some laps with CSA on (I have it on most of the time) but the handling felt constrained so I switched it off and improved a bit. I'm well off your time though.

I tried with ASM off and I was slower. I also switched to default from weak for ABS and I think that helps.

It teased me for a while but finally broke into the 1:50s.

Nice job with the 1'50! Glad my ASM hack helped unlock some extra pace. I saw sirvia do it at Yamigiwa a few weeks ago so felt like it was worth a go. Immediately it seemed like a large degree of understeer was released from the vehicle.

I'm just happy to bank the .3 which might end up finishing top 50 by combos end.
