Hello everyone! I've been away for quite some time.
I've had a few issues to deal with that I won't bore you all with here.
Basically, I haven't "driven" for many months and don't expect to very soon as I'm giving the wheel and seat away to a deserving new home.
I've had an absolute blast here, enjoyed my time on the board immensely and would like to thank you all for being such good virtual friends.
I will pop in now and again to see what's going on and cneck the banter.
Thanks for all the fun, and enjoy the racing!
Cheers
Geoff
Good luck with what whatever you have going on right now!, hope to see you join in sometimes now and then indeed! Grtz Jomar

Good luck and take care of you and your family.
Hope to see again here

Thank you Gomario! Take care and glad to see you're still racing! You've been around a long time!
Hi, welcome back. I haven't seen you in ages. I'll be back to doing TT's with you all asap. The main important thing is my mom finished all her rounds of chemotherapy which took 8-9 months. So, how have you been doing? I haven't had time to read your other post yet. Have you tried any of the TT's yet or even the special ones. I heard that most people are doing well in them. I'm glad to see you back.

Hey seadog ! Wish you the best ! Hope you can join us more soon !
I know, even though Seadog got mostly bronze medals in most of the TT's that we've had, he has been really friendly and supportive of us, he is the creator of this thread too. Without his work, we would not be able to help each other out here. So big congratulations to him for making it possible. I hope him and his family enjoy their new big house! He really deserves it because he has made it easy for us to communicate here in this TT thread.

Hi folks

Very quick update from me! Very stressful session today as I only have two attempts at this one so today was ‘the day’

Ended up with good consistency but never tied the lap together so this might be it! Ahead of @Gomario JSP 😘 but still a bit behind @A_Higher_Place’s fantastic time

Yay!!!! Yippee!!!!!! Very happy to win some hardware finally!
Congrats!!!!! VR is very cool!!!

Thanks mate… no CSA or TC on this one for me 💪 😊 Only ABS on Weak. This is one intense time trial… last sector has me working up a sweat 😂 managed to improve it tonight by a tenth and change…. I feel like I can go further on this, just stringing it all together is haaaarrrd.

I sooooo want to do this time trial!! grrrrrrrrr

Had a quick little sesh (around 75 miles) last night and improved by 9 thousandths to 55.519, not quite what I wanted especially out of the final sector.
Well look at the positive side, you made a small improvement which is very important in each TT of the game. I guess you were expecting to improve by a larger margin, perhaps another second or two.

I was able to break into the 55.9s at Blue Moon Speedway with the Z8. It’s a good feeling…. and then I’m thinking I want to push more 👍 But I need to figure out how to replicate a high 55.9 first 😅

I had a solid T1, slightly missed apex but carried good speed, and didn't over-brake, followed by an aggressive dive into the infield. Maybe too aggressive, as I had to brake to high 60s mph as I crossed the apex of T2 but I got on the throttle early enough to recover. I think fixing that turn (and T1 apex) is probably my key to achieving the 55.8s. Any suggestions are welcome 🍺. Sector 1 was 28.925, Sector 2 was 27.029. My tendency is to engine-break on T2 and up-shift to 3rd when the car is pointing towards the apex, but I'm probably sabotaging my speed by doing the whole engine-breaking thing... Video of the lap below:

Hey all - the Z8 event is surprisingly addictive. I've had a couple of runs over the weekend and covered a good 80+ miles each time. The transitions onto and off the banking are a little infuriating but managed to just grab a 56.0. In theory a 55 is within touching distance, but at the same time feels like it could take me another 200 miles to get it. ABS weak only.

I am on gyro too, and for BMW TT i lowered all 3 controller settings to far left, that will say
-2
1
1

When track is shifting from inside road to outside road, example very last corner when you need to climb on start finish straight, you need to try to "catch" steering in that very moment of transition from one road to another, so you are holding steering to the right in last turn, but in that very moment of changing roads, you need to keep steering angle straight otherwise car will bounce and unsettle.
Another advice for entering very last corner, you hold brakes on oval road and in that very moment when you need to switch to inside road, lift off the brake pedal for a short moment, that will also keep car stable.
And also when about to exit that very last corner, don't fully floor gas pedal sharply, it will unsettle the car, try to feed the throttle until you can hold car steadily.

Lastly, you can try to turn on CS assistance on strong and see if that helps you.

Edit* are you on AT or MT and if MT which buttons are you using for shifting? I assume gas and brake are L2/R2 right?
Yes l2/r2 for gas and brake, gears are right stick up/down, had another go last night started getting bronze times consistently, was on for a possible silver but messed up on the last banked part and ended with a red 59.8(ish).
It's a little awkward trying to feather the throttle and do a turn at same time using the gyro wheel I realised after trying to pick up some time.
Another go this morning being off work today..58.6

Well @Barareklam ....... i seriously delayed my alarm-clock for work yesterday evening due to starting of the wintertime, wintertime means i start at 8:30 AM instead of 7 AM ( My work has nothing to due with this time-warp-thing, but it's just nicer to go home more early in the summer )

But..... 5:38 i woke up due to the heavy storm here and couldn't sleep..., i realy didn't feel like lake louise-Blue-Moon but i still have a sore spot in my left hand from trilbraking the last sector at Autopolis so didn't want to go back there, so there was only one choise...... i am sorry...

Luckly in real life i am a man of my word..., although you problably won't believe me right now

Man, what a frustrating ride this is, it's haunted like crazy, first sector nail means last corner fail and visa versa, the transition between the infield and the oval is such a pain..... enter it to wide on the yello you'll suffer pure understeer which you just can't recover from timewise..., searching for the apex to soon and you will oversteer in to oblivian... so... if you are right in the middle of that you have a chance

Like Barareklam said before, on the transition you just can't steer and brake, coast for a milisecond and gently pick it up after that.

I had a fairly bad first corner but a descent second one, so a split of .841 ( were the fastest was a 784 this morning )

Exit of T2 - if you ain't scraping you need to push harder

Exit T4 ( on to the backstraight before last corner, when you survive a breath taking full send T3 you realy have to use all of the track to not lose time on the faster ghosts, i'm following Calster.

So with some struggle on T1 and way to much wheelspin in the final corner i did scrape some time of the PB with a .890
I think IF i can nail all corners i could ran a high .7xx but not much more than that i guess...
But there are far to much red laps needed to get to that point
