First time as far as I can remember that, 24 hours after a TT has opened, none of @Tidgney, Kie25, SammySnake, @Mistah_MCA or Calster has made a guidance video for it. Admittedly there is the extra one, for which Tidgney and Calster have done videos, but I am sure some of it is the difficulty level.

And in case you read this Tidgney, I'm saying this just to make conversation about the difficult TT, not to have a dig. I realise you've posted top times and had child care duties yesterday, on top of having done the other video.
O don't worry I don't see it as a dig. It would have been out at 5pm the same day but baby tidge is teething so sleeping about 1 minute of naps before crying so I was on and off all afternoon as I was on baby duties while Lady Tidge was having an enjoyable afternoon out (Deserved one to!)

Come on, JeJe! You can do it, get that 29!💪
You can do it!

I think that’s both a great sign but masks a lot of the car control difference we have generally.

It’s very very hard, let’s not pretend for the middle tier like myself. It’s not easy or rewarding, just lucky bounces on full pace laps.
It’s definitely hard and I’m glad I’m not doing it in VR! I went with roof cam for extra visibility.

The bumps are a bit annoying but they seemed to bother me less today. Yesterday I was in bronze and all over the shop.

Apart from the soft suspension and bad brakes, this car is good fun to drive around The Glen. I got some airtime on my very first lap out of the gate exiting the bus stop chicane. I'll get the pictures soon enough. Can I do a 29? Probably, but I don't intend to spend more time on this because NASCAR 25 is way more fun right now.

@Barareklam PlayStation VR2 has arrived🙌

Thanks once again for mentioning the Elantra competition to me. Otherwise I wouldn't have known about it, just like 8 of the top 10 global leaderboard finishers didn't🤣.

Finishing 11th and winning a $600 prize is unbelievable.
enjoy youre PSVR2 youre in for a treat ...don"t go to fast tho 😂

Wohoo, glad you got it. You surely deserve it!

Morning all,

Had a serious go at Colorado Springs this morning, very frustrating that the nr 1 on my leaderboard kept improving 🤣🙏.... @Barareklam

I had you for like 10 seconds with the low .6xx but then you decided to go .5xx on me.... ....man I was happy to also run a .5xx!
Went back at the board......what a Hammershot mate! Well done!

Very difficult this one, and very demanding on the hands on the pad for me especially the throttle middelvinger.

But not to Shabbbyyyyy at all!

Oh ninjas... You should only see my hands flying all over the room to stabilize bounces with Yaris. I am ashamed to upload that video, I mean raw footage of hands, but it's surely funny 🤣 haha.

Anyhow...
Here comes a lap on controller with motion control #gyro

Very cool to see!..... you already have 2 tenths on me on S1 🙄🙄😱😱 😂, i think the fastest was a mid 6, but I have never seen a .5, smooth lap buddy!

Hi,

Not been in "here" for quite a while. I just wanted to drop by and tell you about my experience(s) with the Yaris while attempting to set a reasonable time for the TT, using the well know "Try before you buy" method....

After almost 100 laps spent being either - Upside down. In the wrong gear. Facing the wrong way. In the fence. Off the throttle when I should have been on. On the throttle when I should have been off. Apexing 50 yards too soon or too late.

I give in! I have more chance of being kicked to death by a 3 legged donkey, than I do mastering this infernal thing!!!

Very best regards to all here.

Ian.

Come on, that's not so hard, just go slowly at first, if you push too hard without perfect timing you end up sweeping all corners wide and losing too much time.

Getting a good lap time is another issue, but I think bronze is reasonnable.

Colorado Springs started to flow for me… it helps to focus just on something you’re doing well in the lap and then build on it for improvement. My pace in sector 3 felt good and this, for me, was the least challenging section. Sector one came together as I got more familiar with the Yaris and realized how early I should be throttling entering into T1 corridor and that forced me to rotate better on entry.

Sector 2 is extremely challenging. The “big boy” jump at about 0.34 into the lap… make sure you’re sweeping left to right prior to lift off so that you jump forward through the apex. And slow down to secure a better angle😛 Can lose so much time drifting sideways if your angle is off. I slowed down a lot to prepare a nice angle for launch, but I’m sure it could be done faster… it felt too slow but actually was closer to the “correct” way than it felt at the time 😐

Sugar rush from Halloween candy also helps 💪

Well now. I learned a thing from the video @Barareklam posted, which helped me get 16.6x first sectors every now and then. Even a 16.589. But then when I put my best sector 2 and 3 together, sector 1 was a 16.9. Still, it improved my time from 1:26.871 to 1:26.568.

And then I put three decent sectors together. That is probably me now for this TT; doubt I can improve on that.

So after scoring another Gold with the Mazda 12R, the Z8 was calling my name... really loud, so I had to give it a go.

Very enjoyable combo, much more than if it were on a lengthier track.
I definitely prefer driving on a tight small track like this than a much bigger one.
This snack-size layout is perfect for a car like this, you can easily rack up the miles/laps without it becoming boring or exhausting... and with a car like this and all those grade fluctuations every lap sure is anything but boring!

Most of my laps here were made with CSA Weak, ABS Default and TC 0.
This combination of settings got me to a high 0:56.8xx but still, I always left the track with this feeling that I could definitely do better... so with Jeddah constantly improving his World Record I came back in, switched to CSA Strong and, suddenly I've noticed it helped me with my consistency, I could pull off a lot more laps under the 56 seconds mark.

Kept trying and trying until a 56.767 came through, very happy with it!
Still... I get the feeling there's probably another tenth or 2 to be found there, but I'm not planning on going back despite it being a very fun TT.
I could find more time through the first corners, the problem is carrying those tenths all the way through the final corner which is were I end up loosing most of my time, hitting the apex and entering the banked road without unsettling the car too much is a struggle.

Anyway, I'm quite pleased with my time here and it really was a fun Time Trial! Brilliant combo PD 👌

PS: Thumbs up for all the guys trying (and succeeding) at this rally TT... won't even bother trying, it's definitely not for me so I'll make sure to keep my distance from it, let you aliens battle it out 👽
