I didn't succeed in getting gold, but I was close. Proud to place, almost top 15k

The results for TT171 at Colorado Springs - Lake Reverse in the Toyota GR Yaris RZ "High performance" '20 are over here and those for TT172 at Watkins Glen Long Course in the Chaparral 2J '70 are over here. I have updated the opening post with the index of all TTs and the second post with the community scoreboards. A reminder that each driver's results for every TT are in the Excel file attached to the latest results post.

Here are some interim statistics for TT173 at Autódromo de Interlagos in the Honda NSX Type R '92.

104 km in Suzuka tonight...
Result: silver medal in 1' 38.9, with 1'38.7 in optimum..

Not sure it will last 12 days, but that's all I can do...
The gold medal: not even in my dreams...😂

it's too fast for my old brain...😂😂

and then it slips, I think... or maybe I'm doing it wrong, but I'm having trouble with Spoon...

405th. Thanks, cause I can't check at the moment. It was fun but got stressful in the end. I don't need stress right now and leave it there. I still guess that could be my first top1000.

Morning!

Good luck to all you guys g-forcing your way through Suzuka, i made my choise.... not going to it again, did it once, it was enough,
It was doable on the pad for me then, it should be now too but i rather spend my time in the NSX for now.

I did run some laps at 6 AM this morning but maby had some difficulty waking up properly.... i don't know... maby it was the single Malt @Dan_Tes bought me yesterday

So, off top but on forum

When i made my first post on this forum/thread april '22 i had absolutely no idea this was going to be such a good place.
Over the years i got to know some nice people here, and with some tips and tricks from the faster guys here i got a lot faster
So GT7 timetrialing realy clicked for me with this forum.

But i would have never guessed that years later i would pick up our resident alien @Dan_Tes at a Amsterdam Hotel to have a great evening talking about life, cars and GT7 with a good meal, I had a blast! thanks buddy!

So international forum made friends become real ones...

Now thats! what's GTplanet and GT7 can do folks! that's what is't all about :) :)

Although I could not notice an improvement in my driving I can confirm that meeting in real life with fellow racers from all over the world is an awesome experience! Looking forward the WEC Event in Spa next year where some of the Titans will meet personally. 😍

A small comparison between Gyro and Wheel on Sector 1 with Yaris on Colorado.

PD, obviously it is possible to reach top spots even on gyro on controller, and Gran Turismo is Masterpiece in itself with all small details done with perfection, so if you can please take a look at this small imperfection when steering with gyro, pretty please.

Could not agree more. This thread is the only social media I regularly partake in. The welcoming culture is a big part why. No haters in sight. Everybody trying to help each other out and prop one another up. Good stuff.

I agree 100 percent. I met a few people from the forums at GTWS Los Angeles last Saturday, it’s one of the best experiences I’ve ever had. Hearing how people get into GT or sim racing and the people they meet and experiences that they have… I’m glad I found this place and this amazing community.

Plus, my kids got a rad coloring book from the event 😝 attached pic. Start em when they’re young 😂

Anyhow… managed a gold with formula TT at Suzuka in the 1:36s… I may come back to it if the gold time falls further, but formula isn’t quite my thing… I’d much rather throw a road car around than a formula machine 🙂

Are you talking about the jerky stuttering of the wheel? I am not sure I understand what the issue is. Ignore the rest if I misunderstood.

I guess just like regular wheels the game inserts the gyro input directly into the car's steering wheel just like when using an actual steering wheel as your input method. This is in comparison to the smoothing that is applied to the controller inputs.

I guess that a gyro sensor is just simply limited with regards to its sensitivity. Therefore the game receives a signal that the controller in your hand gets stuttered back and forth without an ability to know that that's not true but an artifact of the gyro sensor being slightly off. A wheel on the other hand is all mechanical which allows for much more precise (or even perfect) translation from what the user does to their wheel to what happens in the game.

What I am trying to say is that there is probably no fix to this jerkiness unless you are fine with PD applying a smoothing function to the gyro inputs just like they do with the analog sticks. I would guess that this would make it worse.

Theoretically it could also be an actual malfunction of the controller being used and the gyro sensor normally being perfectly accurate. Maybe try a different controller and see if the effect persists.

This question doesn't really belong here, sorry, but I couldn't find anything when I searched. Is there a GTPlanet store with t-shirts or other merchandise?

Cant say that I enjoy getting shredded up by 5 tenths. But the conciliation prize is at least I'm the fastest Aussie currently .

Weak ABS.

FFB settings: 7 max torque, 10 sensitivity.

Was slightly faster wearing warehouse gloves with this combo.

Danny's final fall from grace, he's always been a bit out there, but now he's really gone too far. Absolute moronic behaviour.
