Switched to weak ABS. It unlocked turn 1 more as the car had more turn-in. I was pumping out low 7xx's there, but did not hit a good sector 3 unfortunately so will have to settle with this lap for now.

Morning folks,

The M3 is a lot harder to be consistent with then I thought it would be, and the more I'm.trying to push it the less I seem to like it, it just feels to heavy at the front
Fun when you are on the edge if oversteer but not fun when trying to get the nose onto the apex.

Lots of miles this morning cause I didn't have any feeling at all, I think I ran two .9xx laps in the whole session but suddenly after 300km I ran a .750 🤣, that's it for this morning 🤣

After yesterday I didn't improved my 2:05.015, today was a different story!
Very early (few km's driven) I managed to go first time under 2:05 - you can see that time as my best in new, better lap time, only ABS weak:

@FranciRus you are just above me, I'll try to reach your time 😄

Good morning everyone - first time at the wheel this morning after a rough work week was a pleasant opportunity to focus 100% on something different.

First off, Spa and that elusive sub-17.9... if I stitch best splits together, I should in theory be able to hit a 17.6 or 17.7, but as everyone has found out, the theory is one thing, but the reality is something different. I did manage to duck into the 17.8s though. I gave up 2 tenths in the middle sector to my very best, but it was a relief to get out of the bus stop cleanly. Still behind @crome and very close to @bigfluffy888 (who always seems to be a shade faster than me), but happy with the time. Not sure I'm coming back to this though... my nerves can't handle it!!

And then onto Autopolis in the M3 and a first few laps. Decent time to start, but for some reason I changed up very early from 3rd to 4th coming up to the line, and lost around .15. Fun lap though!

Spa is really really hard! Good time, man. We share pretty much the same story. Such a difficult track to get everything right.

And @crome, your lap was phenomenal!

Hi fellas

Some improvement at spa but man the competition is high with this one! Some slightly strange physics going on here especially through Pouhon! I’m going for a 2:16.xxx if I have time, it’s doable but yeah it’s a tough one as always at Spa..

As for the M3 at Autopolis… given my avatar you’d be thinking I’d be straight on this having owned and tracked and E92 but sports hard tyres is putting me off trying; is it as unruly as it sounds??

Nah not unruly at all, I was using tc1 and it only engaged a few times. I think Sports hard are equivalent of michelin ps4s, so fairly representative of club racing at entry level.

The challenge is understeer, its there but not chronic. Tbh the car feels really good, you'll like it.

I came very close to buying one IRL a few years ago, I was tossing up to keep my beater and get a dedicated sports car or get the m3 as a one car solution. In the end I went with the 2 car route (997) but a similarly analog car, cars peaked around this period, by 2012 or so it all went to hell with horrible UI, turbo everything and intrusive driver aides.

This was a peak automotive time.

Eh? For 25 years they were the best thing to drive this side of a porsche. Or a well sorted alfa but once alfa went fwd they ruined themselves. Ruiners.
I’m talking about in the game. For real?I’ve only driven a rented 3-series estate , a long time ago, while on a trip. That was reasonable drive but a bit small for the family at the time.

Having a wild time in the land of GT7 the last week. 10 to 12 hour work days left less time than I would’ve hoped to be able to drive and practice.

I was looking forward to Friday night for a good session. Once the kids went to bed, I sat down at the wheel, ready to make time trial history 😂 but then…when I hit the power button on my wheelbase… the wheel failed to calibrate!

Spent a good hour with chat support and a kind gentleman at Logitech helped me get back up and running. Seems like an issue with power - plugged my wheel into a different power outlet and wouldn’t work, but after the chat session and on a lark, I tried a third power outlet and that allowed the wheel to startup normally. Third times a charm…. and maybe I need to call an electrician 🤔 I have a support ticket open and hoping to learn
more about what happened, but hopefully (knock on wood) all remains well. It’s been good for about 24 hrs now so we’ll see 🙂

With wheel in working order, I was able to push with Autopolis and the M3. Juuuust missed the 2:02s but there’s more time in me… I think 💪

Morning!

@Dan_Tes I think I am the only one that doesn't "realy" fancy the combo that much, it's ok-ish for me, but more on the frustrating side because of the understeer, it's predictable for sure in both under and oversteer, it's just feels to heavy for me.

That said....I hope this sticks for a top 100 badge cause I kind of not want to go back 🤣
No go on and kick me down a place 🤪🤣

Great combo at Spa, love the car and track but jeez I was struggling to get my eye in here, more work to do, and it's probably not helped by every man and his cat having a go at it.

Also registered a practice run in the M3, glorious car, marmite track for me, I look forward to grinding away at this one some more.

Entered the gold zone at AP 😁 , so close to touch the 04s... kind of miracle lap though because I was doing low 06s.

Following @Vule's ghost as usual lately, he has the good taste of being in my friend's list (he's not responsible for that, sure), but more importantly he logs a top 10 times very often, so it is very convenient to pick a ghost 🙏
