GT7 Online Time Trial/Lap Time Challenge Discussion

Pretty fun one with the STi. Funny thing though, I was going to use an STi i had liveried like my former real car, wingless, and it seems to affect the car in the TT. I was slipping and sliding in almost every corner. I switched to a pure stock car from my herd and night and day.
Was also able to improve my time in the Afeela TT.

Good lord that STi is weighty!

Took me half of my session to even get a clean lap. But my overall fastest lap tonight was a 2:00.665 (following...and occasionally catching up to @Tidgney's new and improved #1 ghost...only on one corner, then he's gone again after the next ), and I think I have room for a little improvement...should the slides allow...and the walls permit.

Congrats Tidg! Still #1 almost 24 hours in. Looking good! I'll check out your lap this weekend and see if I can learn something. I'm sure I will.

Thanks mate 😀, but to be honest the lap was horrible from T2 until the exit of the 2nd hairpin. 😂😂
Had runs where i was 0,5s infront after that point, but was way to tired and unconcentrated to bring it to the finish line. 🤪
It's only the 1st day, so it's good to know that there is a lot of time left. 😌😂

I did crash a .6 split before S3 this morning at the very last turn though, that's a real pain in the weightshifting rear.... so a .8 should be doable, I'll try this weekend 😁

So I expect a top 10 in the end from you Ed, go make Germany proud 😁🤪

Managed to crack into silver in the new TT this morning. I don't like the car. It's not an enjoyable drive afaic. Too much of a "hair trigger"...

Happy to grab P1 but the final sector is a real difficult one to pull off, and needless to say I didn't pull it off on this lap. I can get a .6 but not gonna go for it as I'm happy with my lap overall, especially the first 2 splits (37.668 and 1'15.893)

Yeah, I've found this one definitely benefits from ABS Default - like most have since the tire model change.

Interestingly, I found the M3 at Autopolis did not like Default, at least for me.

The Sub offers an interesting challenge.
This is typically the type of combo that I like because it allows me to break down.
Placebo or not, I feel like I need to rent one.
Same feeling as with the Morizo at Lake Louise.

I love how this Subaru drives. Very fun combo.
Got this time after my second session. Still a bit more time left..

The Afeela was surprisingly good too. At first I thought the car would handle like a boat, but I managed to make it rotate quite nicely. Trial mountain is always a good time 😎

The remotest place I've been at on my trip had the most stable WiFi signal, so, still late, but the results for the TT that ended on Thursday are here. I'll sort overall scoreboards etc. (the first two posts on that other thread) when I'm back in the UK. (which may not happen by Wed due to the megalomaniac on the other side of the world...)

Saterday morning pre pike fishing Suubawuu laps!

I finally got to understand the car a bit better, the powerband, suspension and the looking up rear brakes are kind of fun when you learn to use them in your benefit.
To bad I totally messed up the final turn.... this should have been a high. 3 in the end

But happy with this morning result

First try with the Subbie. I’ve always loved this track even though I’m not very good at it. Love the fast flow and the technical corners. It’s those corners, with the weight shift under braking that makes it hard. I wrote off many cars…🤣

Still figuring this one out but I’m going to enjoy sessioning this.

Another brand new combo - I feel such a noob. Started from scratch. 3 hours later did a half decent lap (for my standards). 2:01.161

I'm in this game for the the long term and my long term goal is to get into top 100 regularly. Slight snag, it's blinkin' difficult!

First run in the Subaru… keep forgetting where I am on the track lol. Tricky package but fun to get your head around. Did around 50 miles this morning to lodge this time, and then watched the replays and realized that I’m shifting way too late and (consequently) in the wrong gear in some corners. Will use that info for the next runs.

I literally had like 20 laps straight of red, and finally got a clean one where I dropped a tenth and a half or so, down to. 2:00.490.

Incredibly frustrating though.

I do have to say, both my wife and our husky seem to have this sense of when I'm on a good lap, and thus the perfect time for distractions to break my concentration and ruin said lap. 😒
