I’ve found one burrito shop that genuinely takes me back to California in Baltimore, though my meal was missing the lemon and lime wedge.

This was a steak special with no added rice (I got it on the side though).

For breakfast, we had some French Toast, some sausage patties, 4 croissants, 4 pancakes and some bananas. Then for lunch we had 2 turkey subs on white bread and some Lay's Simply Sea Salted potato chips. We'll decide what to eat for dinner later on this evening. We got up early at 6:30am this morning.

Had a terrible stir fry - I used beef that was part of a stir fry meal deal from a local supermarket, and it was horrible.

I should have listened to the reviews...

... ironically, the 'deal' used to not include any meat, and I used to buy some lovely beef from the butcher counter in the same shop (and I still do... my sister bought this lot for us...) and I've never had a problem; indeed, it is usually really good.

I don't understand why or how it can be so bad - I know how to cook beef... I even marinaded it, but it was nasty; and it's not like it is that cheap either ($24 a kilo...). Lesson learned.

Also in the Subway delivery besides tuna were another couple of footlongs designated "Furious Chicken" and "Notorious B.M.T".

Taking a bite outta the Furious Chicken. It has waffle fries in it but I doubt they're Hangry Joe's level of quality.

The hype:

The reality:

I tried the Big Arch Meal from McDonald’s the other day. Apparently they’ve been test marketing it in other countries, especially the UK and Ireland, making the US one of the last markets to get it. They say “it’s the most McDonald’s burger yet.” It includes two quarter pound beef patties, three slices of melted white cheddar cheese, both crispy and slivered onions, lettuce, pickles, toasted buns with sesame and poppy seeds, and a new, tangy “Big Arch Sauce.”

I'll admit it’s a big sandwich. Too big to safely eat with one hand. I went through the drive-through and realized almost immediately that I wasn’t going to be able to eat it while driving. I had to pull into a Safeway and park up for a few minutes so I could eat it with both hands.

It was good. But it also tasted very McDonalds, if that makes sense. You don’t go to McDonald’s to have your palate challenged. You go there because you know what you’re going to get. You go there because it’s comfort food. This is just a big version of that.
