At first I thought this TT was awful. It was annoying to learn the car.. but then it actually felt quite nice.

I'm happy with this lap, although I had an invalid .500.

Still haven't figured out how the top guys are exiting the first chicane so fast. That's my worst corner so far.

Morning fellas!

Well... i had dinner last night and suddenly had a real brainfart...started laughing and went to the laptop after the coffey...
So bad...but I just had to 🤣

Freshly painted I yeeeted the thing over the scampi shaped curbs 🤣

There is def another tenth or 2 left but yeah.... same old story... putting it all in one lap..... 🤣

Skipping 4th gear didn't work everywhere to, very annoying shenanigans, slightly faster for me it seems but it just doesn't work everytime

After the latest drop of the gold time at CGV i was 0,009s out of gold. Some action was required!

If that's not good enough for gold, i'll eat my shorts! :D

Pretty remarkable is my ranking with a gap of 2.41%.

Has anybody watched the lap of the new leader? The speed with that he turns the wheel is unbelievable. That makes me belive, he's driving with a controller. I simply can't imagine someone can turn a steering wheel that fast!

Yeah, it just sounds weird and too short so figured I'd try to go 3 to 5, works like a charm 🤣 And turns out you realy don't need it 🤣

I noticed you did it once, but not the other times - is it only on that straight and not the other two?
 
Hey folks - haven’t looked at the Monza event yet, but it seems like the polar opposite of CGV and the high downforce, last of the lake braker shenanigans that are required to drag a good lap time over the curbs. Took forever to even get into gold but then it all started to click… ish. This was the fastest from this mornings session.

I'm really liking this NSX (always have, especially on Suzuka 😎 ) Anyways, starting to get into the groove with this track. Once you get going I think this track has a good flow to it. Mistakes were made on this lap, and I have had a 27.3xx on S2, so I know I can get faster if I put it all together.

I was reminded how horrific that Red Bull car is this evening.

A solid ~180 miles there tonight and I only improved to a 1:24.591 - a whopping 0.022 seconds, and only right near the end. Oh, don't worry, my optimums are apparently in the low 0.3's, but attainable? Apparently not. I'm still on TC1 because I found TC0 to provide zero benefit to me.

How the hell is the top time two seconds faster than this?? Leaving the first chicane, their ghost and I get out at roughly a similar speed and then they just magically speed off into the distance...do I have...less power or something here? It's literally what it seems like, and I know that's not the case but...something has to explain it. Perhaps just the fact the car is horrible?

Can't wait to pull my hair out and scream at my television again tomorrow night with this terrible combo. And then I still need to get back to CGV as I'm damn near out of gold time, which is...insane.

Sigh.
 
Yeah despite ghosts and replays and data tracing, I get to a point where I literally cannot fathom how someone can find 2.5 seconds under a lap where I drove at ten tenths and nailed every apex. Bewildering.

Als in curve grande after the first chicane , after Lesmo 2 , after Ascari I failed 🤣, and then also out of parabolica, doesn't all make world of difference but looking at my splits def go backwards if I fail 🤣
 
Alright guys!! I’m heading out on vacation, will be in Japan for about 10 days for some R&R. Was lucky enough to get the time off from work which coincides with my kids’ summer break.

As I think about it, this will be the longest break that I’ll be taking from GT7 since I started! Most of all I will miss the competition, the spirit of driving, and of course this community! I look forward to staying in touch with the goings-on here where I can 💪 I’ll come back well-rested and ready to drive!

I’ll probably need to leave the Mangusta as it is, solid effort but never quite gelled with the car the way I was hoping to.

On other news...

CGV I wanted a 25, but landed on a 1:26.002 😮‍💨
Still no gold but a decent placing on the rankings so looks like I'm on my usual limit 😅
Did 20 lap stints in each of the cars. I like the Lexus better, but NSX is faster despite not being my favorite....

Monza in the DeTomas, I'm in gold. Don't know if I'll look for a better time.. Also skipping 4th gear btw..

eventually did hook up a descent lap again but no .5
Missed the upshift 3 to 5 out of Parabolica and did hit the limiter before the line 🙈

Morning all - had another run at CVG this morning (only fitting since the race is in a few hours) and frankly getting a little frustrated with the curbs (as others are), so this might be my last run. Optimal is a 1:24.31 but seems pretty much unachievable for me over a single lap. Made some decent time though and picked up 0.15 from yesterday. Mangusta later!

Massive gripe with the TT's is the stupid timing system. If you botch an early corner you are forced to finish the lap or you lose your reference fast lap time, drives me insane. I rely heavily on the +/- at the bottom of the screen and it vanishes if you restart.

I agree, the time reset kinda sucks, and then in the last update they took away the time if the lap goes red. As long as I am hitting 'retry' they should give you your fast lap timer.

Dude, I struggled with this for a long while, still do really...you can nail apexes all you want, but the speed comes from the 'exit' speed. Finding that line off the apex that allows you to get into the throttle faster and harder is how they do it.

Yeah man, the way they get through the second sector is mind blowing. I can be right on the bumper in S1 and S3, but S2....I'm like how da hell????

Hello, it's been a long time since I last posted but I have still been keeping up with the time trials! I started this one yesterday and couldn't quite get the flow but today was much better and I drop to a 2:04.256 which feels good enough for now. My sum of best splits does indicate a sub 2:04 but I don't like Monza or this car enough to push for that.

I need to ask: why was CGV added? Does anyone like it?

I finally got some improvement into the 1:24s tonight (as I had absolutely no intention of that Red Bull trash for a second night), down to a 1:24.862...but with optimal down in the 0.4s, which I was apparently not allowed to obtain.

Yet another situation here where cars magically accelerate away from me, despite us leaving the corner at the same speed.

Someone really needs to spray whoever it is picking these TTs at PD with a garden hose, in the face.

The Mangusta one is all right...and it would have been different...if they didn't also have another active TT with a much, much worse car at the exact same track.

And then CGV...just...no. Can their next update delete this track?

I quite like it, but it could benefit from couple of mods. For example, track limits in the second chicane need to be more strict so people don't cut the left hander so much and basically mow the grass with the whole car, and I don't believe the sausages in general are this much pronounced in real life, so they could be a bit smaller and less intrusive. But yeah, it's a nice track for me :)
