Porsche GT3 at Laguna Seca

Well, I'm done. I just can't nail the last chicane when it REALLY counts. I wanted to get a top 100 lap, but it just stays just barely out of reach.

Yeah, I'm thinking I've done about all I can there - a lot of it is just so much luck-based on how the car handles the snausages and/or curbs, and the throttle required that particular time.

There's still people finding time and I believe all my luck was used up that last time, clenching my butt for me, since I was unaware how close I came to an invalid lap.

No idea which one I'll try and improve tonight, though. I need to mow the lawn, so that'll tank my legs.

For sure they will, I still don't see basically any of the top guys with completed laps there, it will go down...
I'm expecting seconds, because they're legitimately crazy.
Yep, already going crazy, the S players going to make this one extremely difficult to place well too. Killing my DG score in the last three TTs😒
Wow Laguna Seca wants to kill you every corner in these cars. I tried yet failed to grasp a 1'19.9, even though I felt like it was brewing towards the end of a 140 mile session, composure often eluded me during the final sector on good splits.
Stop looking at the time clock!!! 😁
I don't know why, this track's fast line eludes me. I like the track but for the life of me, I end up being rather slow here. Hopefully, that will change.

For Laguna I did a short DUI session last night just to get Gold secured, but now my focus is on the god awful Mangusta TT.

Joined the "settled for silver" club for Gr2 and X2019 trials - both best sector maths and gut feeling suggest that scraping by into gold by singular hundredths was perhaps in me, but it would be sort of a "million monkeys with typewriters" thing where I might have lucked into this sort of lap by pure chance and a thousand attempts in, but in the end only had so much time and sanity to keep retrying. Looking forward to see the laptime distributions to see if they really were up as difficult as it seems.

Mangusta one is more encouraging so far - just outside the top 1000 for now and feeling tempted to go for that sub-1000 ranking, depending on how that leaderboard develops in the next days.

Hokay...finally managed to get what should be safe silver times in the Redbull and the Gr.2 events! These 2 TTs seemed WAY harder to silver (and apparently I'm not alone in that assessment) than a lot of the previous events were for me to gold so it kinda boggles my brain that I'm considerably further down the world boards than usual.

I've also got silvers for now in the other two active events so hopefully one or both of those will be gold before time runs out.

They were quite difficult - it took a lot of time to be able to wrap my head around how to attack either of them, but eventually I did. Frustrating as hell at first, though...

I just put in 259 miles at Monza and, somehow, dropped another two tenths, down to a 1:24.166 - annoyingly, with an optimum of a 1:23.927. Surprisingly all this after some solid lawn-mowage in 80-degree, sunny weather.

Fun fact: I acquired my .166 on Lap 41 (but bested my previous best time first with a .303 on Lap 32). My wife came home from the ballgame with her friend around Lap 42 and wanted to talk about all sorts of things since, you know, I had only seen here for about ~30 minutes between her getting home from work and leaving for the game...which was fine, but I believe that long distraction killed my focus: from lap 42, all the way until my last completed lap (71), I had three valid laps. So...make of that what you will.

What is crazy is that time is just finally under 2%...and still "only" 277th (at this time). The top time's ghost just runs away from me at spots where I didn't even spin, which I...don't quite understand. Almost like it has more power...but there's no way that's possible, so...no clue!

But definitely happier than before I went back at this last night. Was happy with last nights. More happy with tonight's - it's acceptable I'd say, especially for not typically being great with high downforce cars.

I tried a few laps again in the 911 and went from .260 to .240
I just can't stand the curb physics here, i never understood the need for placing airborn sausages at Laguna Seca in the first place, it makes the track way less enjoyable for me, it makes the need for placing the car on the exact right spot and that's exactly my weak point, i need a bigger apex window ....

So... verdict, ...Jomar don't like....
As a matter of fact, i don't even know if I like Laguna Seca
