Late last night I needed to fit in quickly my daily workout right before bedtime.
I was really tired and I really didn't want nor needed to use the VR or even the sim rig, I just needed to do exactly 26.3 miles quickly no frills.
So I picked up the controller, and sat in front of the TV, just trying quickly to finish that chore before bed.
A Mindless quicky if you want to describe it that way lol.
So I Did the weekly challenges because those are easy and one can get two birds with one stone without trying to much.
I did twice the K car on Tokyo, best I could do waS 2nd, I don't care, I just needed the prizes and complete the challenge, I got first a long time ago.
Then for my last stint before bed, I decided to do the rally bit on Barcelona.
Contrarily to some, I actually "enjoy" doing the Rally in GT, ever since Tahiti on GT2 (with a controller with O and Square button and manual shift with L1 R2). (Am old school)
This weekly challenges rally shouldn't be too hard, since
I already got first on this Barcelona track before.
Or so I thought
With the controller, It was all over the place as if I am Scooby-Doo on ice ! I couldn't getting better than 7 out of 12 on the 8 short laps, I ended the race dead last before bedtime.
Although I got my a daily workout but I didn't get any prize for the rally using The controller... It was frustrating and seems "impossible".... I think mainly because I was really tired, sleepy and "drunk?" !
As I turned off the PS5 And the TV, I was thinking:
Have I gotten accustomed to VR so much now that I can't even play the way I used to with the controller decades earlier??!
Maybe it's my fleeing youth, but I thought I still had my hands with the controller with rallying
I believe I have always been good with Rally in GT, and I especially enjoy it in VR!
But Last night showed me that rally with a controller 🎮 was just drunken session of frustration and cursing..
Now I think I understand why some people hate rally in GT so much, it's because they are trying to complete it with a controller.... It's just seems so unnatural, now that I experience Rally in VR for 2 years, I didn't really ever go back to rally with the controller until last night.
I thought I could just pick up and go, as if I have Always have done it since 1998 ...
But the truth for me is:
It is so much more easy and more enjoyable doing the rally in VR And the sim rig wheel setup...
That was my only good positive thought as I went off And snooze to dream land.
Sorry for the long post again:
The point I was really trying to make was:
