I don’t know if it’s unusual.
Usually, the HUD related to the tires is completely broken.
During the TT Yas Marina/Espace F1, it is clean at my place.
Do you notice the same thing?

It weirdly enough varies from car to car and track to track.

I'm writing here even if it's not really about VR, but we VR players notice it more easily. The steering wheel of the 296 gt3 only rotates up to 90 degrees... is that a bug? It seems to me that a part of the steering is missing

This video is for those who do not have the PSVR2 yet.

Don't take it from us, let this guy explain.

I agree with his assessment

Thats how it is in real life, as i recently found out.

I decided to connect my wheel to my laptop yesterday to check if it was upto date. Turns out it wasnt upto date with the latest firmware.

Once updated i then went to race in the the 296 GT for the first time. First thing i noticed was the steering was how it is. Thought damn, ive messed my wheel up big time here.

Spent he next few hours rolling bk and forth between firmware tedting to correct it only tonthen find out the steering in that car is how it should be 😪.

Now i cant seem to get my settings and feel back to how it was before i stupidly decided to update my wheel, its done my nut in big time, if it aint brike dont ever tey and fix it 🤗

That video talks about PS5 + PVSR2 versus PS5Pro + PSVR2 and don't even oversell the PS5Pro, so I fail to see how it could motivate someone to get the PVSR2.

I really hope it’s a bug that PD somehow missed because I can’t think of a good reason as to why it’s locked to 90 degrees.

His point is that:
If you are on the fence with PSVR2 and especially if you don't have PS5 or debates if you need to upgrade to PS5 Pro, for these concerned with finance, and usually if you mainly play GT and need a Sim rig ...

You don't have to get the PS5 Pro at the moment.

The video is very specific: gear toward GT players:
I know it's a small subset of the population, but still consequential, its a video for that part of the population, who is still hesitant, help them save what they can.

If anyone else is playing other AAA, then the PS5 Pro would warrant the additional cost....

His other point is: if you are into car game, especially GT, you would do right to yourself to get the PSVR2 and the sim rig.

With the current price, more incentive:

I don't regret getting it full price on day one, because I thoroughly enjoyed it in the past 2 years at least

At $300 I think it a great deal.

However, it is a particular if not unique choice, considering that it seems to me that 100% of all other cars in gt7 have the steering wheel that rotates up to 180 degrees, regardless of whether they are road or racing cars. If it is true that even in reality the 296 gt3 rotates only 90 degrees, the new Ferrari is the only car in the game for which they chose to represent the steering in the real version

It is $300 now ? Wow, that's a steal ! Got mine second hand from a guy that happened to be a neighbour (100m from my home), not sure why he was selling it, his story felt half baked, but I had the possibility to try it at his place to check if it was fully functionnal. Thing was like new so I bought it. Took some time to get used to it, it collected a lot of dust at first, but once I got VR legs, there was no going back.

Don't tell me all the time how good PSVR2+GT7 is!

I really hope i can join you guys with PS6+PSVR3+GT8. The budget is not the problem, the space is just a minor problem as i would go for a Playseat Challenge. The problem is the 3 year old running around our flat.

I hope, when she's at school age, i can disappear into VR-racing often. At the moment im sitting here with a Dualsense and a headset that only covers one ear so I don't miss what's happening around me at home. :D Until then I'll dream of a seat, a DD wheel and VR.

I have a Playseat Challenge, a DD wheel, PSVR2 and a 1,5 year old (and a 13 year old).

Setting up the Playseat and putting it away is an easy enough process that I just do it almost every evening when the toddler is in bed.

Putting away the Playseat will probably not be the most problematic part of my equation. ;)

It's more about the absence of sleep, focus and "me time".

edit: plus, i find it a little late to buy into an infrastructure that will be old soon (obviously that's always the case with tech, but i feel it here specially) and isn't even supported that well (PD still doesn't acknowledge or change many of the quirks people have with VR).

I hear you.

But for me sitting in VR and playing GT is the most me-time imaginable.

I understand this stance but :
  • we don't know when and even if we'll get the combo PS6+PSVR3+GT8
  • PSVR2 is on sale at 50% of its original price (as someone told me)
  • you can't switch soon enough

My biggest regret is not having bought PSVR2 earlier, and even after I bought it, taking so much time to switching firmly. At first I was using it here and there for short stints, and the relative motion sickness was not motivating me.
When I push through a bit forced by circumstances (wanting to play while at my dad and not using his TV so he can use it), I quickly got my VR legs and from that week on holidays, there was no turning back.

On the other hand I understand that you currently play while keeping an eye/ear on what your 3 year-old is doing, so it won't be possible in VR. But if you manage to get some me-time when the little one is sleeping...

The little time i have is always filled with the hope it overlaps with my wifes free time and if not it's a bit of couch-gaming and of to bed. So, I get the idea that VR is already a big thing for the users but i can wait. :)

If Sony/PF f's the thing up in the next generation, with or without VR, i can always stir away to another plattform. Would be a petty but somehow i doubt it anyway.

So last night I went and bought the only PSVR2 available at my local Walmart and I went full in without any expectations nor visited this thread beforehand.

I posted this on the “What did you do today” thread a few moments ago:

My honest to God reaction after finally playing GT7 on my new PSVR2:

I honestly feel like I finally got into the 21st century after living my whole life like a hermit playing games on a black and white old tv set 😳😂 that’s how I can best describe the impact of just doing three laps in the Mines GTR at my go to test track DragonTrail Seaside. I had no idea of the track’s very surprising elevation changes which made me react waaayyyyy differently as before (and I have a 55” 4K tv at 8 feet from me).

Plus the amazing, surreal and very highly detailed interior! The rear view mirror even has the Mines logo etched in it!!

Now I fully understand. Now I fully appreciate what Kaz said as VR was always the main focus for GT7. Now everything makes sense.

Yes it was an impulse buy. And the best impulse buy I’ve ever done in my life!

I am still having goosebumps!!!!

See - this is why I will never stop annoying people about VR in this forum :D

Enjoy playing the actual GT7 and try the Gokart on Eiger Nordwand in the dark ;)

welcome to the cult 🤣

the ability to look where you go and adapt your turning in real time, plus the much much better perception of your placement on track...

just play a few days on VR and try to drive again on flat screen, you'll be even more amazed.

The article that GTPlanet wrote about GT7's Graphics Look gives me hope that we will see VR support in GT8, but I don't think we'll ever see a PSVR3, at least not unless the VR market grows significantly.
Yeah, that's where I'm at.

But I could see Sony opening up the PS6 to 3rd party headsets and/or future installments of GT coming to PC and me finding a new (VR) home there.

There's just no way I will ever play GT without VR again.

I definitely just did! Not on Eiger but on Tokyo and was blown away how much I instinctively reacted as if I was there; and I’m just using the DualSense!! Just a quick 4 lapper and even didn’t make 1P because I was adjusting my pace and finding my rhythm again!

Indeed!! The true depth, height and awareness of the other cars are incredible, I can definitely see this truly helping me become a better driver because I was able to actually see the coming corners and finding better lines!!

Yes, I AM A BELIEVER!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥
