@Lomic and other with wooden frame setup. If you want to give it a car feel, I recommend subwoofer carpet glued to the wood structure. It gives a nice automobile feel.
Thing is my rig does not have a floor, what I am seing under if my parquet floor. I may do something for the plywood under the pedals.
and ps5 pro (960$)
PS5 Pro is 960$ now ??? (with taxes I hope)

A floor make it a lot easer to put carpet on.
PS5 pro, 960$ Canadian is the regular price before taxes, was 830 on boxing day.

We had it at 20% off in the UK (which is $770 Canadian) - very tempting

Broken PSVR2! for some reason that side flexes more during expand and contract

Drilled 2 sets of holes and used tie wraps good so far in tension
Update - The first fix w just tie wraps flexed in and out and I was concerned about the cable that runs along there

So added a piece of lego to stiffen it. The join doesn’t lie flat when contracted so can’t bond it. But when stretched out the tile keeps it flat

PD didn’t add any message in the Power Pack for VR users, and the reason I imagine doesn’t look good at all.

In the Power Pack we now have Sarah repeatedly saying “X is the leader now” during a race. Or “X ahead / behind you has pitted”, or "you need to change your tires".

Adding a simple message like “you are nn seconds behind / ahead of X” when passing the boxes would have been trivial, but a huge improvement for VR users and a sign that PD still remembers us.

They chose not to do it, which to me suggests they may have dropped VR support completely and, more worryingly, that VR may not even exist in GT8.

Hopefully I’m wrong. Any thoughts?

That’s quite a conclusion based on that.

It would be good if they could be audio announcement - which would take some time to procure.

I expect GT8 would be working towards a PSVR3 - Kaz has shown it quite a bit of love and it has had a lot of positive feedback. So I don’t see why they would U-turn on this just because no new features came to VR in the power-pack.

Personally I don’t think we’ll see any more development in GT7 and VR other than fixes for things like PSSR.

I certainly hope that to be true. To @Met Entso comments though, I agree with him that it is extremely disappointing that there were no VR enhancements with Spec III and the Powerpack such as improved HUD lap/competitor data.

By the time GT8 comes around I expect to be retired and if there is no VR love for PS6 then by then I will be investing in a kick-ass PC set up and will be PC/VR sim racing instead in my lazy retired years...

Just to answer this:
I’m sure that video isn’t accurate, I’m just trying to guage the resolution because all the videos I’ve seen are super high definition. I’ve heard many times it’s more like 1080p in the headset
From my eyes through my glasses in the headset on PS5 Pro, the vision is much improved from when PSVR2 debuted. It's very clear. The old screen door resolution is gone on PS5 Pro. Pretty close to a tv screen. Again, from my eyes.

I would not say that, to me resolution is much lower than TV, and that's with getting the sweetspot nailed in and using Globular Cluster mod.

But I really could not care less given everything else VR brings to the table, I just don't want to drive on a flat screen anymore. Flat screen is nice to watch replays with dynamic cameras, that's it.

Yea I’ve got a 4k OLED HDR10+ TV and the headset is definitely not matching that. If I switch the game to 120 fps and 1080 that is pretty much identical to the headset resolution wise

It's still fully supported though. Just because they didn't make any major changes to interface, doesn't mean they've given up on it. All tracks and cars for Spec III and the power pack are fully supported. I'm guessing (hoping) that the game is too far into it's life cycle for major VR changes. I'm also hoping that PSVR2 will be supported for GT8 / PS6 even if they release a PSVR3. I don't think the current PS5 Pro pushes the PSVR2 to the max. I could be wrong.

I'm always in favor of poeple jumping to PC for SIM racing. However, GT7 / PSVR2 is by far the best bang for buck investment. The amount of money you need to spend to get a similar experience out of any PC is insanely high. The framerate in GT7 while in VR is just amazing. Considering how cheap the combo is. On PC you'll be welcomed with early access quirks, updates every time you power up a game to play, GPU driver conflicts etc. I'll always favor PC over console, but each generation the gap gets closer to the middle.

And as you alluded next, there is also a serious amount of faffing around with tools, settings and what not in order to have a system that is functionnal, and even there, you may have to go back in settings and so on because it may as well cease to function as wanted with time.

I'm not saying it's matching a tv. I've said it doesn't match a tv. I've said it's close to a tv(didn't even say it's close to 4K). Especially from when it debuted, it was a mess, the graphics look damn good now.

I've said in the past images look crisp. Especially when viewing gauges and interior renderings. There's work still to be done on environments, but it's much improved.

For anyone on the fence, as mentioned by Daan, they've got to see it for themselves to determine if the graphics are fine from their own eyes.

Oh I know it, which is why I haven't done PC to date (i don't like PCs). I tried Automobilista2 and it confuses me, even though I love Road America (wish that was in GT7). Still, now that I exclusively drive VR, if GT8 did not support it (which I think is unrealistic) then it would cause me to switch as I won't drive flatscreen anymore.

With you on this, with the proviso, if any version of Gran Turismo does not support VR, whatever version, though preferably the 2, since I've already bought in on that one, I will not be buying it. I also will not be going the PC route in any event. I spent more time than I can easily count, 20 or so years ago, tweaking PCs, network connections, game config files, etc. to ever want to do it again. I'm at a point now where I want to boot the gear up, sit down and play, with minimal time farting around tweaking 💩.

And in this case, I'm certainly 'nobody".

I only play GT7 in VR, the only question i have is why Polyphonie dont add real time gaps during races at least in the telemetrie interface they have for alternative apps to use, that why i could hear at least the gaps per audio during a race which would add alot more fun and information and realism, i am sure its not much of a problem to add that feature. Of course i would also wish to add the gaps in the HUD during a game, its a no brainer because there is already a HUD in VR so why not add the Gaps to the driver behind and in front of you? I mean its obvious that its not fair, it almost feels like a bug because there is no plausible explanation why not showing it because the HUD is already there. I hope they will correct that bug soon and for GT8 i wish a race engineer voice and of course PSVR2 support, it would be essential for me.
