Why it the PS5 GT7 controller pulling to the left, even after i try to make adjustments. the steering is off center and the cars are pulling to the left, really bad.

It has a one year warranty, so you can try calling Sony if you're under or slightly over that period and they may be able to help you.
I know I can't tune the car to accommodate I have tried, and I sure cant tear the controller apart, and PS5 isn't new (don't even know if you can find a new one) so no warranty, I guess I have to go the 70.00 option.

Stick drift. Had this with the DualSense that came with my console 3 weeks before warranty ended. Sent it in under warranty and got it back in less than a week. If yours isn’t under warranty you can try cleaning it out, sometimes it’s caused by debris stuck inside, or rebuilding it yourself if you have the tools and part, otherwise you buy a new or used one.

That was starting to happen to me last week when I pushed the stick to turn right my car would wanna turn left.

Thankfully it has since then stopped.

This isn’t a controller issue. It’s a problem in GT 7, I have multiple controllers and a few buddies also having the same issues. Controller works fine in other games but in GT7 it drifts left.

Unfortunatly for the DualSense firstparty controllers, only the Edge controllers have onboard software to actually verify the amount of stick drift and an option to apply a deadzone before input is registered by games.
Also you could swap the faulty stick.
But calling it a GT7 issue seems very far stretched, otherwise it should be much more public like "Nintendo Stick drift" I guess.
Maybe GT7 is just a game that has the least amount of game internal deadzone applied and all other games you and your buddies play have basic integrated leeway where you just dont notice this small amount of stick drift (this is much more likely than a GT7 software issue).

Plung the controller to PC and run tests via hardwaretester.com... you'll be able to tell right away if you have a drift or not.

Pull stick out, it only moves out a fraction mind, and blow hard through a straw pointed at base of stick, or better still use compressed air.

Lots of times it’s just a bit of dust causing the drift and blowing on it with the slight lift is enough to shift the debris.

If that doesn’t do the trick, instead of air, use electrical contact cleaner immediately followed by air for a more intense clean.

Not a GT7 issue because I am on a ps4 and I have no drift problem at all

Is anyone else still having this issue?

I legitimately thought I was losing my mind. Since last week (since update??) any GR 3 or 4 car can randomly just steer left for no apparent reason.

Other games I’m having no steering issues whatsoever. Only thing I haven’t tried is other pads as I don’t have any. I’ve checked counter steer etc all off.

Sorry to bump an old thread, a Google search of the issue got me here.

I am having this issue as of this week, using a controller in GT7 my car would randomly and violently veer to the left making the game almost unplayable. Some cars are worse than others and the issue seemed to consistently occur on the same sections of track, so it seemed it had to be a game issue, right? I have no issues with any other games after all, including other racing games such as EA WRC.

Well, I had my brother try to replicate it with the same car, settings and track (the 1997 BMW M3 with Sports Suspension on the Nurburgring seemed the worst) and was not able to. I suspect it's a controller drift issue but the game somehow makes it obvious.

In any case, I got a new controller on the way to see for sure that is the issue.

If it’s happening at the same section of track with multiple cars I’m pretty confident that your car is too low and is bottoming out. Try raising the suspension and stiffening it a bit and see if that helps

The issue occurs with completely stock cars, too, but seems worse with lowered cars. Still, the fact that my brother couldn't replicate it with the same settings tells me it's more than just the suspension settings and that somehow the controller drift issues are amplified in GT7.

I am no expert on the technical stuff, but perhaps the way the game handles steering inputs is thrown out of wack when the controller's analog stick has even the smallest amount of drift in the left stick.

Not only that but if slapping Sport Suspension (and making no adjustments otherwise) on the E36 M3 completely kills the car's driving dynamics then I think more people would be complaining by now. The E36 just being the example I have, but every single car I drive regardless of suspension set up will veer left randomly at some point during a race.

Once the new controller arrives I can rule out that, at least.

The E36 M3 is a BAD example. It has a well known suspension issue, and yes slapping on ANY suspension will cause rubbing and hinder turning. When the vehicle was released it was talked about A LOT (You seem to have missed that). I'm not saying your problem is your suspension tuning (or lack thereof), but there are quite a few vehicles in GT7 that need their suspension tuned to compensate for potential tire rubbing issues (even stock vehicles). It is possible that you are utilizing these vehicles and thinking it's a controller drift issue. It's also possible that it IS a controller drift issue.

My controller is exhibiting stick drift at the moment. It just started a couple days ago. Thankfully, it's the right stick. I use the classic GT controller layout (left stick for steering, right stick for gas/brake, triggers for shifting), when I'm not using my wheel/pedals. My right stick only utilizes up/down inputs. So, at least with GT7 the drift only effects things slightly in the menu screens, and effects absolutely nothing on track.

My first controller got stick drift intermittently for a couple of weeks so there's time yet. It was subtle at first but it got steadily worse to the point of being unusable.

The potentiometer in them isn't very well protected against dust from what I've seen and it's proper fiddly to clean but there's plenty of clear guides on YouTube.

Appretiate the info, you're right I didn't know about the E36 issue, so it is a bad example and perhaps the issue I am having can be confused with the existing issues with the car (even though I've driven the car a lot without issue before this week). But no doubt there is something wrong still. I do understand some cars need to be tweaked to avoid rubbing.

I apologize if I've not explained well enough but I promise if you tried my controller you'd immediately recognize an issue other than known tire rubbing/ suspension issues. Booted up the game today and things got worse, I can’t even drive down a straight without the car veering left randomly.

My initial post I suspected it's a controller issue and I am confident that is it, even more so now.
