I dont know how many cars i tried (both cars that are driven by ai and cars i thouht were useful, also different tires/pitstop strategy) i am always in last place throug out the race no chance of gaining a place.
I think the Powerrating in this race is bugged. All cars feel as if they have 100 PP up on my car.

On the same track the WTC 800 its a nice race..which is relatively easy to win i think with a little bit of good strategy and improving your laptime..

Anyone got in to this race?

It's by far the most popular way to quickly earn credits, so... yeah, everyone

Try this thread for tips:

i mean i got a 130k for last place clean race obviously :D so ...i get it :D

So different cars.. hm i will try a few out..
I was in the naive belive that you can tune any car (thats in range PP wise) and have a good chance in any given race.. probably not lol

An example of a non-exploit setup that can win by nearly 90 seconds (and probably over 2 minutes if an alien used it):

I might just do that. The fastest lap is 10 secods faster then me, any time i drive, doenst matter which car i take.
Maybe i should not use rain tyres? But the AI drives like they are all Schuhmacher... wtf..

If i dont use rain tyres.. but use racing hard or medium instead.. any driver seems to race on dry tarmac while i swim around in the corners.. this race.. FeelsNotSureMan
It doenst even have the spicey chillis on the picture to signal the difficulty!

What car are you trying to drive? Using intermediates and racing tyres is fine, but for the most part you'll be wanting to switch from inters after 3 or 4 laps onto slicks. Using slicks at the start is a death sentence in a normal car, so you want to avoid that, and using inters on a dry track wil be slow and burn them out quickly.

Use Sports tyres for the best of both worlds there. A set of Sports Hards often can do the whole race without a tyre change, it's just fuel you'll need to be mindful of.

My setup I linked to above uses Sports Hard tyres which are decent for every stage of the race. You need to be very careful if you go off the racing line, though, as you'll have massively less grip than if you're on the drier part of the track. So you can't expect to overtake the AI on lap 1 by going down the inside and outbraking them as they'll have miles more grip than you due to them being on a dry part of the track and you being on a wet part.

All you need is right car n setup with the ability too lap quicker than the ai, Escudo and engine Swapped Cappuccino will lap the field.

will try.
@Nebuc72 So far i am using an NSX '17 which has AWD but i am not having the slightest chance.. i tried all tyres... 599 PP...

To be honest...i mean.. yeah.. this race gives a lot of credits and you have to figure out a lot of stuff ..but does anyone really "like" that race? Feels terrible to be completely honest.

I posted a setup I used to win with the NSX here:

It might need some adjustments to hit 600 PP now, as the PP system has changed since then.

Thanks i will try that out.. also.. and that could be the problem: i might be jsut bad at the game :odd:
It takes some practice to get good at this race, but it's a good fun race once you've become decent at it. Braking points change significantly over the first few laps, for example. The track conditions each lap are the same every time you do the race, as far as I can tell. It's a satisfying track to drive once you've worked out how to take each corner, much more fun than real world tracks IMO.

I mean i LOVE the track.. the WTC 800 with the Audi R8 LMS Evo.. its pure haven. And i dont mind the grind but i am doing something wrong. I did the tuning you posted and needed to add the weight reductions lol. My car was 700kg heavier. Also shifting balast and brake balance helped with handling but i did only make rank 13. Its the best result yet but.. there is something going on, the AI is gaining on me even if i am flat out on the straight with 300km/h.. how can that be... something is going on.

Are you using manual or automatic gears? I'll optimise the NSX more, I'm sure it can be made faster, but optimising for automatic can be a lot different to optimising for manual.

I am using a controller and automatic ... Are you using a wheel and manual?

I use a controller with stick steering. I normally use manual, but I just adjusted the NSX for automatic and made it a lot faster. The photo is taken a fraction of a second before the finish. I pitted at the end of lap 8, filled to 49% fuel. I used TC 2, and also moved the brake balance 2 clicks to the front. I drove with automatic, and ABS default, no other assists. The car isn't all that easy to drive, I was using partial stick movements in quite a few places rather than slamming it all the way to the side. Even with TC 2 you need some control of throttle and steering on corner exits to keep the car stable. The pictures are a bit wonky because the USB just died on my normal PC, so I'm posting this from a PC where I don't have any decent photo editing software installed.

Le Mans is more sedate, takes little time extra over Tokyo.

Check those threads regarding the race. There are so many cars you can use to win. Now only can you use the setups in those threads, there are all kinds of cars you can use.

I have personally used the Ford GT '06, all of the Porsche 911's, Mustang 429, NSX '92 and '02 and others. The 911 '16 is my favorite.

You can also check the tuning forums for setups to use. Most use Sport tires...

Also learn the patterns of the drivers. It can help you decide when to pit.

Plus you can just change the game difficulty to Easy...
not really. it's not a night and day difference between difficulty.

AI average finish time and difficulty level..

hard: 27:40 - 27:45
med: 27:45 - 27:55
easy: 27:55 and over

will try.

Best race in the game. Check out the other threads - tons of cars, tunes and tips

Nothing special to it really. I used the Audi R8, on SH tires, fuel mostly 2 with 1 every here and there. Pit at the end of lap 6 for fresh tires and top up fuel. Just drive smoothly and its a pretty easy race.

@Chris McFly
I improved the NSX '17 setup some more, 10 seconds quicker total race time and a lot more stable / easier to drive. If you used the previous setup you'll need to buy a new car to use this one, which kind of defeats the point of why I started working on this car, which was because you already had it...

You have to first get a wide body, then wide wheels with wide offset. Then add the rear wing, then go to the tuning shop and get the rest of what is needed. I used TC 2 and automatic gears, default ABS, pitted at the end of lap 8 and filled to 47%.

Don't worry about cars being faster than you down the straight, this setup is miles faster than them through some of the corners. Even some of the backmarkers can be quite quick down the straight, but terrible through the corners. You should be in 11th place before you even reach the first corner, and then you can pass 1 car per corner most corners from then on, but just keep it safe, there's no need to go crazy trying to get past the AI.

Weird how do you not need Balast and Power Restrictor? With those tyres i need both almost maxed out to fit into 600pp

I like using the Group B Rally cars for this race. They are all 4WD obviously, which is good for the rain. I tried it with the Racing tyres and intermediates, but the Sports Hard work best for me. Tyres last the whole race, for most of Gr.B cars, and refuel lap is 8-10 depending on the car, using map 1. I lower the cars to about 10-15 above minimum.

It is interesting to see the differences across the Gr.B range of cars in terms of top speed and tyre usage.
