I remember seeing a tracker or something similar here once, which was used to generate the cars for the weekly races at random. Could someone please share that link again? I haven’t been able to find it, unfortunately.

This week wasn't my cup of tea somehow, no race that really had my interest or pulled me in. Maybe that's why all of my cars were a bit too competitive. Getting things done and dusted ? ...
Of course, the Glen is a place to come back to, even more when there is another nice community challenge using Formula cars.
Anyway, this is what happened so far :

Race 1 at Goodwood
MB Unimog '62 - SH / 197 hp / 1,438 kg / 398.10 PP / CRB ✅

I did a second attempt here with the Unimog on CH and 350 PP which made for a tight race and a photo finish victory.

Race 2 at Dragon Trail

Tried this later with a stock Elantra : A close win with a three second gap.

Stategy => FM1, RM, Pit at the end of lap 08, fuel and tyres to the end.
Not so difficult because it's like a sprint !

July – Week 5

Hello everyone, here is my report of this week. My settings:
Gamepad | Automatic transmission | Race Difficulty – Hard | TCS 1

#5 | Gr.1 Prototype Series | Watkins Glen Long Course
F3500-A | PP 900 | RM tyres | FM 1 | 1 pit
It was a good race with the F3500. Using FM1, I made 1 pit-stop after 10th lap, changed the tyres and added some fuel. Finished with almost a half-minute lead.

#4 Special Race – Hyundai Elantra N TC – One Make | Red Bull Ring
Hyundai Elantra N TC ‘24 | PP 689 | RS tyres
It was a pretty easy race, and I overtook the leader on lap 3.

Ferrari VGT | PP 850 | RM tyres
I chose a Ferrari and barely beat the electric cars. It was also necessary to keep them behind.

I won using an M3 ‘03 with settings under PP550, but it wasn't easy.

#1 Sunday Cup Classic | Goodwood Motor Circuit
Alfa Romeo Giulia Veloce ‘67 | PP 350 | SS tyres | NOS
Winning at Goodwood is never easy if you use the recommended PP. So, this time I had to use NOS.

For 5 races I got 500,000 Cr.
 
I tried two other non-Gr.1 cars in the Gr.1 race at the Glen and had varying results. Both races done on hards with no stops. I also had some mistakes, brake checks, and a half-second track limit penalty once each.

The first race, using the SF23 Super Formula car, was done on FM2, while the second race, using the Red Bull X2019, was done on FM6 with some lifting here and there to save more fuel. The X2019 was actually faster thanks to its higher horsepower rating, but the SF23 was far more fun. High downforce and lower power allowed me to slow down less for the sweepers.

Finished with a 22:05.730 with the SF23

Again, there were mistakes (I’m a pleb, don’t judge me), but the point is clear. The X2019 is faster, but the SF23 is easier.

I'm totally down to use my usual Gr.1-spec Hyundai N2025 VGT for this newly-added round of the Gr.1 Prototype Series at Watkins Glen! I'm thinking I'll just start on Racing Mediums and crank the fuel map all the way to 6, and go from there.

Stategy => FM1, RH, minimum lift and cost and short shifting do the job !
You must lapping on 1.27.xxx for finish the race and gently with the left front tyre for not pit.
No 908 on this race but you have one lap ahead easily and perhaps two laps until the GR010 like me !
A good race but the SF specials races are more difficult compared with it.

Goodwood - Nissan Skyline 2000GT-R (KPGC110) '73 - This car was way over the suggested PP to start with, so I took it out stock. Easy win.

Dragon Trail - Ferrari 365 GTB4 '71 - The car was slightly under the the suggested PP so I added a few sports-level enhancements to get it there. It drove like a boat on those stock tires. Still, another easy win.

Nurburgring - Subaru VIZIV GT VGT - I wasn't too hopeful for this car going in. Even after upgrading it to RS tires, it was still nearly a 100 points off the PP limit. The win, of course, was completely out of reach, but I did manage a P3, which was good enough to tick the box.

Red Bull Ring - Hyundai ELANTRA N TC '24 - I ran this on RS tires, which gave me more of an advantage than I wanted. Another easy win.

Watkins Glen - Jaguar XJR-9 '88 - I expected this car to be a struggle, with multiple attempts using different strategies, and finaly dropping the difficulty level, but it only took one try. I started on RM tires and realized pretty early on that I could get the fuel to last the whole race with some light short-shifting. I still pitted for fresh tires on lap 8 because I didn't trust them to last to the end. Finished in P2, about 20 second back from the winner. Good enough for the check mark. I suppose a no-stopper on RHs might get closer to a win, but I haven't tried it.

Altogether a quick and easy week.
 
Did everything except Watkins Glen.
Tried with Genesis X but it didn't work.
I don't like races with tyre & fuel usage bcs I'm driving with cockpit without HUD, so I have no idea what's happening with them and how many fuel I have.

So Mazda is way to go...

Used the aura of Kaku Ohta to get a PB in the SF23 at the Glen: 21:52.022. Much fewer mistakes, no random track limit penalty, and only a couple of brake checks from the drunk AI. No stops and hard tires as before.

I used FM1 with a tiny bit of LICO either before Turn 1 or before the Bus Stop. I shut off the anti-lag system because it consumes more fuel, so I could get away with being a tad more aggressive.

I did quite an amount of laps for practice first and one complete run now but I had contact in two or three instances in an otherwise ok race. Annoying. There's been just as many time penalties but I can accept these as they're from avoiding erratic AI usually.
And hey, what is LICO ?

No i didn't, it's many laps and when i don't have contact -s am taking a couple or more of 0.500 's.
It's so huge the difference of speed in corners that making the race CRBilabole becomes almost impossible if you're hunting time.

Perhaps studying a certain field and running it without change might make it doable but i prefer to leave my self pregnant than this 😂
 
I've always hated the Elantra TC because it's the epitome of a car that doesn't turn, doesn't really go, and doesn't react to setup changes almost at all. No matter what you do to it outside of grippier tyres and more power, it's the same understeering wheezy windsock. Unfortunately RBR requires a car that turns well in the sharp corners and has good straight line speed, which is the exact opposite of the Elantra.

Took a ton of tries to win cleanly because the AI drives touring cars in the word's true meaning and there's no performance headroom for comfortable overtakes. And anyone can imagine how hard you need to pedal what is basically a stock car to get low 1'38s while keeping it clean in the traffic, and still just barely scraping the win.

Hey ! Not a clean race with credit bonus due of the silly trafic, the 499P very slow on a corner exit and a Sauber C9 lost in the track, and some cars not respect blue flag 😬
On the other side, I don't have time penalty for ignoring track limits so 😅
 
PP: As per the usual, one race was the first time for me, the other two repeats. Now I'm done with the non-time consuming races. Not sure if I'll ever have time to do the 6 hours-up endurance ones. Yeah sure I can save the race, but the race won't count until I finish it. So repeat races for the very near future.
Gr.C Memories at The Glen was crappy. Same Nissan since I thought it would be as tough as Spa. It was the total opposite. I ended up lapping a third of the grid. At least put some fuel stops, PD.
