Big agree. The Japanese classic FWD roster is sorely lacking anything not a Honda Civic (Outside of the FTO and DC2 of course)
This is a shame as FWD Japanese hatchbacks and sports sedans are part of the heart and soul of GT, and it would beat another souless EV or soft-roader.
Throw in a version of the Mazda Astina/Lantis/Protege/323, and a FWD Celica as well and now you are talking.
I could certainly agree with such a sentiment, yeah! Like how even in the relatively narrow context of Honda, I'd love to see the Type R Meeting return as a Bonus Menu, but only if we get the EP3 or FD2 Civic Type R
and either the DC5 Integra Type R - and maybe even the return of the Acura Integra Type R '01. Plus the CRX could be neat, too, not to mention the Del Sol and CR-Z! And while it's a kei car, the Today G looks awesome, and could be a neat FF Honda kei car to go up against the MR drivetrains of the Beat and S660.
EDIT: Oh my stars, how did I forget the Mitsubishi Eclipse? Yeah, I think the first two generations would be great, not just the more famous 2nd-gen model.
EDIT2: Upon further research, I suppose the Eclipse may or may not fit into the "JDM FF" niche, as one of the highest trims for both the first and second-generation models is AWD rather than FF. That being said, it does seem like the 3rd and 4th-gen models only came with FF drivetrains, so there's that. Meanwhile, when it comes to each of those first two generations, the GSX trim - which comes with AWD - doesn't necessarily offer more horsepower than the GS-Turbo trims, so as far as I can tell, the only difference is FF vs. AWD.
EDIT3: At any rate, the 5th-gen Mitsubishi Mirage that's been in previous GT games could be a nice pick. The Mirage Cyborg ZR '97 in particular seems very interesting - it's got over 170 HP while only weighing around 1,060 kg!
EDIT4: I think we could use more sport sedans in general, Japanese or not. For example, the 4th-gen Ford Taurus SHO, the BMW M5 (E60) or the newer Acura Integra Type-S. Plus the ultra-rare Toyota Century GRMN, or the similarly-exclusive Nissan Skyline GT-R (R33) Autech Version 40th Anniversary. The Jaguar XFR could be very cool, too, as well as the Volvo 850!
