GTA Demo: is it over?

Oh, you know, I was thinking of GT Academy, but it might be that when GT Academy ended, the demo was made in-accessable if you hadn't already downloaded it.

I'm sure a proper demo without attached events will come out soon.

Unfortunately that's probably not a given. I don't remember GT5 having a demo that wasn't attached to GTA (or Prologue, if you count that).

I can still play but the Silverstone trials aren't accessible :grumpy:

They should have been made all Academy tracks available to play offline in time trial mode up until GT6 releases. :grumpy:

You're probably right, but I hope they wise up on this front, it could be a good thing for them if they planned it smart. Longshot though.

Could even be the case where it'll be a post-release demo, they need one. Yes, it'll sell well regardless, but there's a lot of disillusioned players from GT5 that need to try before they even think about buying a followup.

I would buy Gran Turismo blindfolded  It's one of the few games I buy without needing to know how it looks or plays, because it's always better than the last one in one thing or another.

The GT Academy events are indeed closed so you can't post/improve times on those but you can still enter the events and run them. That's a bummer though that people can't still download it if they haven't yet as the bonus event(s) leaderboards are still live.

I remember a one car one track GT5 demo that I played for a while.

Gee Wardy...I wish so but I honestly don't think it's likely. The only things that PD has done and can be considered demos, besides the GT Academy ones, are the Prologue versions. With the release window fast-approaching, I think a GT6 Prologue makes no comercial sense. Plus, it's not like GT6 is far away and they to keep us happy or hooked. They didn't make a standalone GT5 demo in between GT5P and GT5, besides the GT Academy @ Indy one, and that was at at a time when the game was so :censored:ing delayed that they should've thrown us a bone..., so I don't think they'll do it now either.

It'd be nice if the GTA demo was basically the E3 demo, but it's just not big enough for that, I think. Gamescom is only ten days away, though.

Only problem I see with not releasing a demo now,is what do PD have to show actually?

Doubt anyone would see any significant difference from GT5 to be persuaded to buy GT6.

Why spoil the surprise? Let's wait for the game instead. It's less than six months from today.

That would leave PD to assume that all purchase decisions of GT6 have been made, that very few exist who would need to play the demo for quite some time after official release before deciding it was worth it to buy the full game.

I remember that's how demos typically worked.

Back in the day when I was walking to school uphill in the snow both ways.

It was for competition sake and a chance for everyone to try new changes they made to gameplay. 99% sure there will not be any demo. But at Gamescom or Tokyo game show other events the game will be available but not on PSN. Not even to PS+ members. The chances are very less.

Ouch. Sorry to hear to that man, that must really suck. :guilty: (No sarcasm)

You would have enjoyed the new physics a lot. :(

If the gameplay videos out there do it any justice then I'm inclined to believe you! You'd think common sense would leave the Demo accessible until release.

But PD and common sense simply don't rhyme :(

I try to download it but the screen says that "this content cannot be selected at this time"

I moved house before the demo came out. I was prompted by the PSN store to set a reminder and to download the demo automatically. I just got my home Internet turned on this passed Thursday. When I connected and updated my PS3, a PSN message informed me I had an item to download. It was the GTA DEMO. I currently sit 198th in the GT-R GT3 Time Trial(using a DS3).

Edit: Now 199th :(

Edit: 155th :)
