Luck does play a pretty big part in race wins, for sure. Between catch up being on in most rooms, the idiotic drivers and maniac AI cars the odds really can be stacked against you.

Sometimes though you can get in a room full of noobs that can't drive and you get an easy few wins before they kick you usually.

I'm currently at W56 L65 which isn't too bad, all legitimate races, no boosting.

Grrrrr, winning races for car mod parts is getting frustrating. I wouldn't mind if everyone raced normally, but every time I get close to first place, I get rammed by the guy in second place and I crash off. Once, I was braking into a corner, and this idiot in an Adder rear-ends me and spins off. He then blames me for wrecking him. I wish unlocks were based upon number of races finished than races won.
EDIT: I noticed on this very page a very similar problem experienced by another person. I don't mind occasional knocks, but people in Adders refusing to brake and ramming you off is aggravating.

Solution - keep doing 1-lap races of that prison circuit with a friend, alternating between who gets to win. You get to increase your driving skill and you get to unlock a ton of parts, and you might actually have a bit of money afterwards to buy a few of them.

No glitch that I am aware of, but it does pay a couple thousand RP for a 1'15 - 1'20 lap.
More fun than Criminal Records IMO too.

It's not too bad and certainly better than Criminal Records, I guess I just don't get the people who have a focus on levelling up as quickly as they can rather than actually having fun doing it.

A couple of races on the same track is ok, especially if the host changes vehicles but I'll never be on to do the same race over and over because it pays well.

I lost my character yesterday after a failed attempt at accepting an invite when I was in storymode.
Never really had any issues before.
I hope it's back when I try this evening.

Anyone know how RP is determined in races? Is it length or how many laps? Or is it random?

I've not figured it out, I've had more RP for winning a race with 8 people and two short laps over a win with 16 cars and a long P2P course. I also did 15 laps on the race around the prison once and hardly got any extra RP over a 3 lap race at the same place.

With Crew Members you get 2x RP :p.

I got a message once saying "You have reached the maximum RP limit for this event" after leading all three laps of a Down the Drain race AND posting consistently better lap times with each run around the track.

Anyone get their stimulus package yet?
I was wondering the same thing. Lack of posts about it answers the question. Still no heists either. :indiff:

Currently level 54. Still loving this multiplayer and have a VERY hard time putting it down. I even missed the BF4 beta because I couldn't get off of this mp.

Oh I bought a 10 car garage this weekend but bought the wrong one. It was about $388k I wanted the apt with the front city view. Not a big deal because I really don't spend much time in my apt anyway. I will post some random pics later today.

This, But RP still comes

Yep. Half a dozen races in a row was enough for me at this point. I will keep doing random things for now.
First, I need to stop being so bad at deathmatches.

I just don't do deathmatches, full stop. Not my thing. I did a few in the first few hours when no good missions were available but now I don't touch them. Play time is 56h 2m 24s and I've spent 12m 10s doing deathmatches according to the social club, won 2 lost 3.

At least with Down The Drain getting the hairpins right can be enough to break the slipstream, but then you can get exposed by someone in last place lining you up for a crash because they have no other way of influencing the outcome of the race.

Agreed. Criminal Records especially is quite a chore. It is a bit of a shame that no-one votes for tracks that are actually challenging, only the ones that are mostly full throttle and hence get determined by crash lotteries. Route 68, Criminal Records and Down The Drain are always the ones I end up in if I select Quick Race.

I ONLY play deathmatches with friends. And we only do those once in a while. Mostly co-op missions, parachute races, and other races. 95% of our time is in 1-2, 2-4, and 2-6 player co-op missions. Every time I level up, there are always new missions available. I am level 54 and have written down about 54 individual co-op missions so far. Just insane how many co-op missions this game has. :)

Yeah I don't like the tracks with no corners, that's where you can make up the time on the crappy drivers, otherwise it's just a crash/slipstream fest.

I think my biggest gripe with Down the Drain is the cardboard boxes that can send a supercar airborne. Really?
Another annoyance in any race that involves the streets is that hitting an upright light pole front on is barely noticeable, but hit one that has previously been brought down and you are catapulted into the next postcode.

If I was going to grind a race for RP, downtown underground would be it. Enough corners to separate the men from the boys, but short enough and a high enough pay for it to be worthwhile.

Is there a new glitch on the Down The Drain race or something? This morning every time I tried to join a quick race from my phone it put me in a lobby on that race. I did a couple of them and at the end the rest of the people selected replay quick as a flash.

Then I got an invite from speedy and finally got to do a few varied races until he switched to rally, stupid that if your co-driver quits before the race starts (as mine did) you get kicked from the group.

Sorry about that rally race but I wanted to try it out as I never had done one before. Having a mic is an advantage but not waterproof, right Dean? ;)
I will only be doing rally races with people who actually want to. Meaning crewmembers who don't just quit when it's not going the way they planned instead of with randoms...

The cardboard is annoying when you hit it but it's extremely satisying when they idiot that just tried to spin you out hits it and spin out themselves.

Is downtown underground the one with the stunt jump down from the road? That is my only annoyance with that one, I always seem to have someone land on top of me and the forced cinematic camera doesn't help.

I don't mind rally races, even without a mic it's pretty fun trying to follow the arrows but as I say if your selected partner quits then it kicks you out at as well. No idea who my selected partner was but I just got a message saying your partner left and it kicked me back to free roam. This was before the race even started.

Yes it is. I had one player try to ram me off the jump but it backfired horribly for them, which was quite satisfying. On that note I really need something tuned for the sports category, the super category is still out of my price range, and the stock Carbonizzaire can be spun without too much assistance from rivals.

The turn on the slightly raised bridge at the bottom end can also be hit or miss a lot of the time, whether you get over it properly or it throws you in the air/spins you.

So, last night, I tried to farm races so I could unlock the Turbo so I could unlock the rest of the colors and while I don't think it worked for that, I did discover, that, even by yourself, races now fork out over 1000 RP each time, so you could farm them to level up.

That must be very boring, though.

Good to know. Do the wins count towards unlocking stuff? :scared: I can hardly get any, if any, wins in full room races. If not, I'll have to find someone who's willing to swap wins every other race...

I have a slow entry then do all the turning in the middle of the bridge and keep it in a straight line when jumping off the ramp on the exit, then straightening up further once the car is planted on the other side. It'll be a bit slower than if the gamble pays off, but most of the time you'll be faster than anyone else through that corner with that technique.

I noticed this too, most of the point to point races I did alone were worth of 2k~ RP. Not too bad for 1½-2min races...

They don't :p I might be able to help you if you're struggling to get wins 👍
