Can PS3 users play online with PS4 users? (I'm guessing not).
 
Urgh. So I HAVE to spend at least £350 to get all the new stuff? About £300 for a new console and £50 for a new copy of the game? -_-

Well, you don't HAVE to. You can just wait a price cut or maybe if there bundle with cheap price. :)

If there is enough to distinguish it from the original version, I might consider getting it. I like how it looks and how it's more dense, but it feels like there should be more, unless there is something that we don't know about yet, which is probably the case. 💡

Will there be another collector's edition? I want a Deagle.

In theory you're correct, but in practice it's effectively removing the online part of the PS3/360 versions since nearly everyone save for a select few will be upgrading almost immediately. Since I only really PLAY the online part I'll basically be losing a game until I pay for the game AGAIN on a different platform (which, again, I will be spending maybe £300 on at the least). By the time a decent price cut is out the game will be fairly dead anyway.

Also this is pretty much going to ruin GTP online events unless we all collectively decide to continue playing on the PS3 version.

Don't get me wrong, I probably WILL get a summer job and save up enough cash to get a gaming PC and GTA V for it, but I was hoping that the PS3 version would last at least a little longer.
 
Don't worry @Snorevette, I'm trying to hold out for as long as possible before I get a PS4 and this game won't sway me yet. (NBA 2K15 and/or Oddworld MAY sway me).

Wow that's excellent news. After the announcement yesterday of the Master Chief Collection, I will be getting the X1 within a couple months for sure. Then there is Destiny, Horizon 2, and now GTA5. Holy crap so much going on in the 4th quarter of 2014.

Not everyone at once is going to move to PS4.

Heists? Nice. I figured if Rockstar was going to confirm heists, it would be after E3. That's just how they roll.
My guess.. Heists next Tuesday the 17th. That would meet their deadline of "released this spring". Since summer is officially next Saturday the 21st.

Even though I'll be working in an apprenticeship and earning money after high school I'll be saving those dolla dolla bills for a first car. I've had my PS3 for 4 years and I will stick by it until the PS3 generation dies. I will go down with the PS3 ship! *feels noble music*

I'm already in the awkward transition phase since I own both consoles and have no plans to upgrade just for prettier graphics. I would only upgrade if server activity on the PS3 falls dramatically. Besides, most will have moved to the PC version anyway.

Hopefully GTA online on the next gen consoles will finally have animals. Like the campaign. That was one of my few complaints was the lack of online animals. Even RDR had animals online.

GTA Online already has animals in it, just go in a public lobby and you can see up to 15 of them running around. 👍
