Awesome!

Here's mine. The only pic I have of it and it's extremely old. The car is now Silver with green wheels.

Yes.. it was doing a burnout on a 9F with no driver inside either car.

I thought that only happened after Rooftop Rumble. :sly:

(Fore!)

Something strange happened Online. I went to get a jet out of the Military Base and after I got it, I was shot down without warning (and no, there wasn't a tank) It was an NPC in the P-996. After I respawned I got blown up after sniping a jet and I didn't get a wanted level. Then I respawned again and nearly got blown up again after getting in my Zentorno and I didn't do anything to invoke any trouble. This was all the NPC P-996's evil deeds. I checked to make sure no one was hiding under the radar and it turns out that "Revel All Players" wasn't available. I never seen an NPC P-996 pilot act so aggressively. No one else managed to get a jet out of Blaine County without getting blown up. Do you think that R* made the NPCs of Zancudo smarter?

I hope it will stop a good percentage of the players who grab up destructive vehicles just to go on a killing rampage. I'm praying anyways.

Everyone! Post a photo of your Comet!

(Please note that the rims are dark purple)

Pictured: Comet tortilla (?) Also, not mine.

The gray Comet must be mine :p It got a white rim and window tint treatment since :)

My second character's Comet is Bright Orange (effectively yellow) with white Inferno wheels. Don't have a pic of it though. Edit: I lied. Here it is :P

Reveal all players is never available in freemode even if people are using under the radar.

@Niyologist - It's something I've had happen to me a handful of times since the early days of Online, even in solo sessions and private lobbies. Every so often you get an NPC Lazer pilot with a vendetta.

I have seen AI-controlled Lazers in multiplayer as well as singleplayer, but I do not believe I have ever been engaged by one. After reading about the Lazer, I learned about pilots flying around Mt. Chilliad on patrol runs in singleplayer. One day when I was near that area, I witnessed a Lazer pilot pulling some risky maneuvers near civilians; the most notable was flying under a major bridge to Paleto Bay. I would expect them to fly at no less than 1,000 feet, but I guessed wrong.

I have a question for the people that have been engaged by AI-controlled Lazers: Which weapon were they using? It seems like they would choose the missiles, but I would like to see them put the cannons to use.

I love it when people online try to use the missiles when flying the Lazer. Some hillbilly sounding kids tried to kill me and a friend at the Sandy Shores airstrip the other day, but didn't seem to have discovered the cannons. They both crashed about 2 minutes later after we casually drove off in my Oracle. One of them then chased me and called me a few names when I sniped him.

Why do people think it is so difficult to aim with the cannons? They are the most powerful weapons in the game. Missiles are crappy, have a short range, and are very unreliable. Cannons blow stuff up faster.

I'm not that good at piloting, but I've had a bunch of kills with the jet's cannons.

EDIT: I just found something concerning on the GTA wiki:

  • The A.I. controlled Lazer has the ability to fire cannons in any direction regardless of where the nose of the plane is aimed. You could be above, behind, or to the side and it will use its cannons to waste you.

The AI Lazer comes after you most of the time when you steal a jet. It's the same jet that rests on the runway with a pilot in it and I think also launches the missiles once you take off. You can jus blow it up before taking off and you should be good. Though if it starts chasing you, it'll chase you to the end of the world. I usually try to outrun it first, continuosly watching my back for it. Sometimes works but when it doesn't - turn around and dogfight it. It can often be a huge PITA, especially when you think you ran away and then suddenly you see it chasing you 5 minutes later :D

Missiles on the Lazer are hard to use. When you try to fire at another aircraft they have more than enough time to avoid it. When attacking groudn targets they always hit the ground before they can make the kill.

The cannons are easy to use against air targets but for ground targets they can be a pain. I still prefer them over the missiles for both air and ground combat.

To avoid the enemy Lazer, just take off facing Lago Zancudo, fly as low as you can over the airbase, then when you get over the fence, drop down and fly as low as possible over the swamp. Once you reach the other side, you're clear and can begin climbing.

Does the AI Lazer still pursue you, even after you've lost your four stars? I have successfully stolen Lazers multiple times online, but I haven't attempted recently.

Yes. It can be frustrating sometimes. I remember fooling around with a friend in jets when suddenly the AI Lazer shows up and kills us both. That was good 5-10 minutes after we stole the jets and lost the wanted levels.
