GTA Online Thread (Useful Links in OP)

Those special crates are anal to come by. Got only one to drop over the weekend. There was me and this other guy in Buzzards waiting for it to drop. I managed to shoot him down just before he landed by the crate as he was way closer to it and grabbed my beer hat just before he respawned and killed me :lol: I call that luck.
 
Last night saw some pretty top-notch monster trucking with Custom and Nomeite. First up, jumping off the roof of Maze Bank, I managed a backflip and we didn't asplod on landing as I'd assumed we would. Here's the truck on the roof with a hint as to how it got there:

Then we met up with Custom almost immediately afterwards, I went to get another Cargobob while Nomeite found a Buzzard, then I dropped Custom off on another roof with a longer run-up and something of a ramp (a very low wall):

And finally, after cruising around on bikes for a while, I called another truck and decided it would probably fit through the subway entrance... It did, and how:

But I got stuck. I was hoping a train would come but after 5 minutes or so nothing showed up.

Took a fair amount of grinding and work but I finally got my monster truck over the weekend. :D

I noticed one truck has a blue frame the other is white. Hopefully we can eventually paint that.

Amen man, I haven't seen a single one. Though someone said you should do a Ron mission or two and they will start to spawn. May have to give that a try when I go online later

I don't think it matters to be in a public lobby. Our private cop lobby the other day had 1 or more special crate drops.

Ok. I think someone said you need at least four people to get one to spawn. :irked:

The truck spawns with either a red, white, or blue chassis. Unfortunately, you can not paint it, but I think in multiplayer races, you can do a glitch to change the color of the truck to your current crew's color.
 
I have two free garage slots and I can't work out what to fill them with. I've got slight garage OCD so my 20 slots have been split into four groups of five cars; Japanese stuff (except that also includes a Sabre Turbo...), trucks/offroad, sports/super/sport classics and bikes. The two slots are in the sports/super/sport classics section. I think I want a Stinger GT and a Cheetah to fill those slots but I also kind of want a Coquette, so I have no idea. The other cars are an Entity, Jester and Monroe. Any suggestions? I don't like the Zentorno and I'd like stuff that's either unique or customisable, I hardly ever see anyone driving Cheetahs and I don't think I've ever seen a Stinger GT outside of that mission that features one. I've got my fast car, i.e. the Entity, so performance doesn't really bother me. I quite like the Stinger, too. And the Massacro. So I have no idea.
 
The Coquette is a nice car and has a bunch of mods. I have one for my 2nd PSN's 1st character. I recently sold my Cheetah, since I use the Turismo R and Zentorna, and needed space for some other cars.
 
Other than my Stinger GT, I've only seen one other being driven by another player. I don't drive mine that often, but when I do, it's in public lobbies where there's a chance some psycho will blow it up since it's over 10k to pay insurance on.
 
All I ever see now is people in garishly-coloured Zentornos everywhere. A guy decided to come and play with me in his bright red and lime green Zentorno, for instance. I just tried the Cheetah offline and I'm pretty sure I need one, though I'm still not completely sold on the Stinger GT... I've got a nice Stinger offline but I'm not sure if the Monroe is too similar.

Man, I hope if the next update comes with as many cars as the last update did they'll allow us to have a third property!

Thanks but I've got a Monroe and I've tried the Cheetah offline! Also I've just noticed you were in the game I was in (well, I saw your name pop up when you left) when I was driving on the walls of the subway tunnels in the Liberator while being chased by a couple of idiots who later couldn't even kill me with an RPG despite me being stuck in a straight tunnel. They were also in a Zentorno, come to think of it.

Just get the most expensive vehicle to pay insurance for, park it somewhere and wait.

Park it parallel against the door of the LS Customs in Burton. Make sure your vehicle access is set to "No one" so people can't move it. They'll have to destroy it to get into the LS Customs, so you get money.

I mean, that area is a total warzone in free roam, why not add to the frustration of idiots that are too lazy to drive to the other LS Customs around the map?

I haven't gone into a public lobby and actually paid attention to people in a while. I like to drive cars that aren't "mainstream". I still see people in the Turismo, and Zentorno. But I never see a Huntley or an Alpha. I don't see many cars from the new DLC either. I see a few Pantos, but never a Pigalle or Rhapsody. I'm starting to see more Sultans spawn, and more people in Sultans, which makes me not want to own one anymore. I only got mine in May because no one had a Sultan.

You don't get any money from the insurance, you just get a replacement for free. :indiff:

May join you in that. Buccaneer was my first ride with my character so tempted to bring it back to my garage

You won't get money, all you'll get is annoyed at your mechanic when he refuses to deliver your recently restored car to you...

I glitched a fully tuned Buccaneer back when the SP to MP glitch worked, and it's a fun car to slide around. I would sell my Sabre Turbo because it's expendable now, but the Sabre just sounds so much better to me.
