Best time in Country Endurance - 4:12

Didn't realise it was that quick til a mate told me that fastest he'd ever done was 4:54

I've been doing times up to 4:16 fairly easily for a while, but this was the best. Still reckon i could go faster though, it was by no means perfect.

I just sent a PM to Blake asking whether he could update the records here, but he says he no longer has the time. He said, however, that he'd be happy for someone else to take over the thread. I personally don't have the time either, but by the look of the recent records some people certainly do. Who can carry on the good work of updating this thread?

Hey guys,

I’d like to apologise for letting you guys down like I have. Obviously I don’t have the sort of time I did when I was 17, and the maintenance of this thread became too much after High School, so since then my contribution has been lacklustre and in the last year or so it’s probably been about nothing.

So, not that this is news to anyone, unfortunately I can no longer actively contribute to this website in the way I could. But I’d like to thank you guys for continuing to submit records even though it was clear I’d abandoned the cause, you really make this one of the best boards on GTPlanet.

Sorry again for letting you guys down and I really enjoyed my active time maintaining this record book.

Thanks for everything,
Blake

I'll take it over if you need me too (I offered to a few months ago) --- not that I have much more time but I think I can catch it back up and keep it up....

If you agree lets get a Mod to do their magic..... I should have plenty of posts that can be used for the initial posts... check the VC recordbook thread and take some of my "updated" posts...

I don’t mind which one of you does it, but I don’t want to choose one of you over the other, so if you can decide between yourselves we’ll send a few PMs and get this thing going.

I didn't look up a few posts to see others had offered--

I certainly don't want to do it, but would do it for the "community"

If Jonas wants to take it over-- he is certainly welcome....

I'm sure Jonas would do a great job, but you could control it.

What about the GTA3 record book, who will control it now?

You may have to start a new one-- the book predates your membership- meaning you don't have any posts they could move over to this thread and place in front of all the others (thats how Blake became the thread starter)---- perhaps they have different capabilities here but the 3 other boards where I moderate, when you move/merge posts-- they go by date... I'm sure they will let you know what to do-- or perhaps they can give you moderator privlidges in this section so you could edit Blakes posts...

thanks for taking it over- I wasn't looking forward to doing a year update--- if I ever get off my butt I will update the rankings at some point after you updating the book...

I think, but I may be wrong, that admins or mods can change ownership of a post to someone else, so that they could transfer the OP to someone else's ownership so it's now in their name and they can edit it etc.

edit: Isn't that what happened with this thread? Jimmy originally started it and ownership of the opening posts were handed over to Blake so it looks like he original posted them and he can alter them.

Looking at the dates of the initial posts and the first post after it, I think they moved Blakes posts from another thread that predated this one.

Initial posts-- 10/29/04
First post after 11/5/04--

but the software might be different over here... so it is certainly possible they can do it that way.....

If we do have to start a new book, be sure to link back to the original... I hope we can keep the same one

*EDIT* - I just realized the feet-to-meter conversions on the record list are off, so my 110ft (33.528m) wasn't the furthest.

I'm impressed-- especially in how much more difficult bloodring was in SA vs VC-- I don't think my time is anywhere near that... it is fun but frustrating.

Thank's Spuds, but I still feel this record is more a matter of persistence than skill. I figured that if I kept at it a while I'd eventually figure it out and be able to run up my scores. However, I found that the event continues to be fairly random, which leads more to frustration than fun.

Which is too bad because I really enjoyed Bloodring in Vice City. I felt like I learned a great deal about vehicle control from the Bloodring. My vigilante skill certainly improved a lot from Bloodring. I ran my time up to the 20 minute range. The 30 minute record is certainly impressive.

I miss the bump in the middle. It allowed crossing the center of the ring safely, provided an easy method to shake chasers, and promoted vehicle control.

The cool thing about VC's Bloodring is that it's possible to eventually get a significant portion of the competition stuck in the walls. This rarely happens in San Andreas, and then only at the spawn holes.

The PCJs in Bloodbowl are extremely frustrating.

Was there any progress on getting a new host for this record book? I'm finding it increasingly difficult to keep up with the current records.

A message has been sent to one of the admins but as you see nothing has happened. Also back in May, I gathered all the new records up to that point and sent them to Blake but only "Killing and Crimes" has been updated.

Yes!!! :)

Best Time in Bandito County - 2:03 - atwyatt
http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e241/atwyatt/atwyatt-BanditoCounty-2-03-1.jpg

I *know* that can go way down too :), because the bandito came to a complete stop on the way up the final hill (after the river.) (Due to almost tipping.)

Anyways, there are a lot of cool finds in that race, and there's no traffic or "randomness" to worry about. :) So what works on one run will usually work on another run too :), making it much easier to improve than a car / road race. :)

I'm confident the time can go down to at least 1:58 or so. Maybe 1:57. (Probably more like 1:53-1:52, with all the finds.) I'm pretty sure coming to a complete stop on the uphill cost at least ~4-5 seconds. :)

Anyways, it's good to be playing the game again. :)

i don't know if anybody is still maintaining this but after many deleted saves and ruined disks over the years, it looks like i'm finally going to get this game finished.

i have taken over all territories twice (107 taken over), and as result it looks like i've fallen into 3rd place for enemy gang members killed.

Max E: 3822 enemy gang members killed.
