Looks great, but something about the animations put me off a bit. Some of them looked very mechanical. And the textures on the red van they drove for a bit were weird.

Speaking on the Kinda Funny Gamecast, Kinda Funny’s Andy Cortez and Greg Miller revealed that they asked Rockstar North co-studio head Rob Nelson about the potential for microtransactions in GTA, as well as the use of generative AI in its development. Both reported that the answer to both questions was simply “no.”

“Can you use your own real-world money to buy things in the game? No monetization,” Cortez said. “I asked point blank, ‘is AI in the game?’ No AI,” Miller continued.

Ties in with what the IGN article said about making money being a bigger part of the game. No way to skip it with Shark cards, save those for the Online nonsense.

I’ll amaze myself if I’m playing it from my age at 55 through to if I make it to 69.

We are the first generation of kids who grew up playing computer games. If you're still playing them now there's no reason to believe you won't be then. Just because the generation above us largely doesn't, doesn't mean it won't be the norm for us. IMO.

I hope money does become a more important part of the game. With so many open world games, the gathering of wealth is really important early on, but you quickly get to a point where you are just hoarding wealth for the sake of it and there's very little you can actually spend it on that makes that pursuit worthwhile.

They kinda had to with all the leaks forcing their hand. Who's going to bother with a Netflix subscription to watch a 30 minute game trailer when you've got someone allegedly* threatening to spoil the entire game story?

*assuming the leaks are genuine and not just a massive marketing swerve by Rockstar, because they have to know that controversy grabs headlines

There’s also a deliberate effort to not let you feel as overpowered as you could in previous GTA games, where you could freely gun down civilians if you wanted to, so long as the cops don’t catch you.

‘I think in previous GTA games you were a bit all-powerful. You were the only one with an invisible arsenal hidden away. Apart from the police, everyone would run in terror from you if you started acting out. This world in GTA 6 is not like that,’ explains Nelson.

I'm not able to type much right now, but suffice it to say that I have very mixed feelings about GTA VI - I realise I'm getting old, but I really don't like this series any more, and the trailer on Netflix last night left me cold and a bit disgusted to be honest. I get that it looks absolutely incredible, but I'm finding it increasingly difficult to see the point of games like this.
