GTA5 Hunting (possible spoilers)

For those that don't know, you need Trevor for these hunting missions. You will meet Cletus and after you complete a couple missions for him, you can officially get paid to hunt by taking a picture of each animal you kill. The hunting is from 5:00 am sunrise until I think around 17:00 pm sunset. Its about 24 real life minutes. You are also able to travel anywhere you want during this mission. Also try different weapons to earn different money and hear random responses from Cletus.

I really enjoy the hunting in this game. The concept of just taking a picture any time during the hunting mission is quite innovative and saves inventory space.

Lets hear some stories, most amount of kills, money, funny Cletus responses, and pics of your kills.

The most money I have achieved was around $1,000. I forgot the amount of kills. Maybe 18?

So what different animals have you killed? I have killed deer, cougars, coyotes, and boars. I want to find birds or cows and see what Cletus says. But that will involve traveling out of the area for sure.

Most funny line I have heard from Cletus was when I shot a deer right in the butt. I sent him the pic and he said "What happened? Did you forget which end was the head?" :lol:

I have yet to do some hunting after the introductory missions. I generally run stuff over instead of shooting it (my favourite weapon should be labeled as "car", really)... At least with Trevor. Only one that did shoot some game was Franklin. With his combat machine gun. 👍
 
Make sure you do the next mission for Cletus. After that you will get paid instant cash for the animals you kill. Just keep in mind you can only get paid to hunt during the day. And you must be in the "hunting" mode. This is located at the upper left of the map. Northwest.
 
I am interested in seeing how far we can actually go away from the beginning of the hunting area. We have about 24 minutes so I think technically we could go anywhere but I am not sure. Maybe there is an invisible wall, or maybe other animals don't spawn. Do other vehicles spawn or only that quad? I don't know.
 
I've read somewhere that you can go anywhere during the missions, and you can't get a wanted level. That's when people have gone into Fort Zancudo to steal the jet and not get a wanted level

Can't go too far away. Just tried to go to Zancudo and it failed me for leaving the area. No traffic on the highway either.
 
It's the one where you need to shoot elk. Cletus stays with you for the first 3 you shoot, then he leaves and tells you to just send him a pic I think. Then you can go wherever you want. You can't make any loud noises or explosions though, as it scares the elk and you fail the mission, no matter where you are. I read up on it this morning
 
I started it but I keep getting killed by the mountain lion because I have the sniper out and before I change it and get something suitable to shoot it I'm dead.

Yes, it only works at that specific part. It doesn't work on the following hunting missions.
 
Oh then. It must've sucked to have it heard confirmed from the same guy that I mentioned in the other thread earlier. BTW, I have never played RDR.
