I also think pits should not be mandatory as the car specs are now. Especially the light cars (Nissan, probably Mini) with lower horsepower have a top speed disadvantage, but can gain that back through tyre wear. If we make them pit, they lose their main upside.

Plus, different strategies are fun!
 
Whoah, been down with a cold/flu/something, slept right through this. Sorry to have missed it, though I would like give it a shot in future.

I have to agree with everybody, it was a good and fun race.

During the first ten laps I went from second to last place and I found it very difficult to get past any car at all. So I decided to pit (hadn't given any thoughts to strategy) and just assumed all would pit sooner or later. Anyway it's fun with different strategies.

Tyrrell, what happened on lap 26? You were reversing in the middle of the first corner, luckily I was awake and managed to squeeze by.

I hope my DFGT is okay. The brake pedal got stuck for a while on lap 18, I was suddenly loosing speed after the first corner and almost panicced. The brakes released eventually and I only lost about three seconds.
 
Yeah sorry about that, I had to open the door for an idiot who'd forgotten his keys. I told him if it happens again, he can just wait for me to finish my race first! Dunno how I ended up rolling backwards, I definitely put the handbrake on - must have disengaged when I put the controller down...
 
Think SSR5 will be better suited for my car, more straights so hopefully have a stronger chance
 
2nd in race one
Disconnected in race two :( Was doing well in race two til i hit a wall, pitted and then disconnected on the exit of the pits

Such but oh well

Alfa is hard to drive fast and isnt matching the others but eats it tyres - may have made a mistake with car choice
 
Race 1 I was surprised by understeer into turn 1 and had to pit for repairs. Finished last - the gap was just too big to make up in the sprint race.

Got a good start out of pole in race 2, Cobrius hot on my tail. Lost the lead briefly after I touched the wall, but gained it back quickly and managed to slightly edge away until I pitted with a 3 second lead after lap 14. Shortly thereafter, after 3 disconnects, only me and Cobrius were left, and after 21 laps Cobrius stopped, because it got sort of pointless.

I drove to the end and saved the replay, if someone's interested.
 
Yeah, sorry about quiting but I really couldn't motivate myself to try catching up with you, I just fooled around the last laps and thought it was better to stop.

What happened with everybody else? Is this series dying?
 
This was my first DC for almost a decade (well the other DC´s where in the early times where it wasn´t that stable).
Liked first Race, although I limited myself with the Damaging but had great battle with Cobrius me think.

All in all I think Alfa isn´t competitive at Complex Tracks (SSR5 is one of them) only on Paddle to the metal Tracks (Monza).

Are we bond to a Car ?? or can we change it from Race-day to Race-Day ??
I would like to use a different Car everytime 👍
If not I stay in the Alfa 👍
 
Autumn ring - can't see Alfa doing well, lots of tight corners and Alfa really struggles in slow corners, understeers badly at any speed, especially low speed.

I'll not have time to practice but I'll turn up.👍
 
Sorry Tyrrell I can't race tonight - been called in from work to cover a shift, and well I have just bought a new car so money is a bit tight and need the money. Sorry.:indiff:

Hi, new to the site, love clean racing. I joined GTP series and my first race is Sat. Was hoping to do something else as well and this looks like a fun series. I picked up the Renault and did the mods you require. I sent a friend request to Tyrrell_ and Strawman_Andy. I practiced a little on Autumn today to get used to the car. Anyway, I hope you'll have me in your series.

Thanks for the replies, I hope he's ok. I understand that stuff gets in the way, it does for all of us at times. I was just hoping to get in on the racing yesterday.

Really sorry all, haven't been on lately as my work situation has changed.

Plus, I think it was a mistake having heavy damage, since (especially with such a pathetic turnout) as people get damaged and are out of the running for the rest of the race, then pit in and pretend to get disconnected. No finger-pointing, as we've all done it.

Five (even six) racers just isn't enough.
