Has this started yet? I'm off to Colorado until April 19 and would like to participate. Would like to test the car settings before I pick a car.

But please double check (if you don't mind) the Power/Weight settings on the Audi vs. The Pescarolo Judd car - more power and less weight for the Audi compared to the Judd engine seems to be a huge advantage for the Audi. Granted, the Judd car can outlast the Audi regarding tire wear, but without me testing it, it just seems a bit out of line.

Perhaps I'm out of line. :crazy: :) Anyway, looks great and would love to participate.

eRacer is correct, the Audi is usually a full second faster then the C60 at most courses.

The preseason starts on the 20th of April and last 2 weeks. You dont need to decide on your car until after preseason, so hopefully that'll be enough time!

As for the Audi/C60 problem - the thing is because the C60's tire wear is so good it can drop a compound which tends to even out the lap times (e.g. Audi R8 on RM/RH vs Pescarolo Judd on RS/RM do about the same no. of laps). Of course the Audi will qualify above the C60's but who will win the race (and get the fastest lap?)

In my full distance testing (i wont say which track) the Judd won by ~6 secs but the Audi had the fastest lap by 0.2xx. It may be down to the Pescarolo suiting my driving style better tho - i'll do some more testing over the next week and update any settings if necessary.

Cheers for the info, maybe you could try some race distances and see how the 2 cars come out?

Hey Abud! What's up with the lack of GT1 entries? It's not really that fun running against the same three eople all the time, you know? So, i was wondering...Since me and my dad (MIKEY BE) are the only others in GT1 aside from Austin343, could it be possible to close up the class and switch to GTS instead?
 
It would be a shame IMO for GT1 to get canceled. :( I really like those cars, but I suppose that if there's really not enough interest, then we could theoretically mash the cars into the other divisions. The McLaren would work in GTS detuned, but I'm not so sure about the CLK, Panoz, and R390 being competitive in LMP no matter what the power and weight settings.

I'll leave GT1 up for a few more days but if it remains undersubscribed like now i'll pull it and stick with LMP & GTS. Alas none of the GT1 cars can really be run in GTS, they're two different beasts!

Well, after much thought and consideration...I'm dropping my GT1 entry in exchange for a GTS entry.

Well, i hate to dothis but i'm following KoW's lead and switching classes. While fun for a short blast (5 laps or so), the GT1 class is just too fast for me...

I suppose that means I have to abandon my CLK entry. Maybe having one fewer class to deal with will be beneficial in the end, but still... Don't take it as a complaint, of course, Mikey or Kingofweasles, but I would have liked to race one of those relatively rare cars in GT4 that has tons of power and not a lot of downforce.

I think that's precisely the reason why the class didn't take off like the others did; Your dealing with near-LMP power levels with equal to LESS-than-GTS levels of downforce...In a car that (No matter which one you picked) is harder to drive and much, MUCH less forgiving than almost anything out there.

I mean, it's a challenge, yeah, no doubt about it...But it's not exactly a FUN challenge to most people. And really, if it's not fun, then why put yourself through the wringer over it?

But you know what? Let's just put all of this aside and go race with the classes we have, a'ight?

*Walks down path to garage .... wipes spider webbs off garage lock (it's been over a year) ... pulls heavy doors open ... light flickers on, slowly*

.... and there, under the protective tarp, seemingly breathing, rests my beautiful beast ... my Pescarolo Courage C60.

Had to call the boys over for a complete inspection, dissasembly, cleaning and tuning. Took her out for a few laps ... man, I'm way off my usual (slow) time - it really has been over a year since I sat behind the wheel. But glad for it.

Anyway.

Unfortunatley, due to RL commitments, Thugbear2005 has decided to withdraw from the GTS season. I've also updated the entry list as i'm now confirmed as racing the Audi R8.

Just to remind people to please get their final car registrations in by 11:59pm GMT tonight (monday).

This does not mean that new racers cannot join the series part way through however, it's just to confirm the preseason racers cars.
